Finished reading Archie Sonic.As a huge shonenshitter who would take 06 over any post-06 game, I loved it - especially the pre-reboot Flynn era, although post-reboot had its moments too. The heroes were charismatic, the villains were superb, the girls were cute, the drama was funny at first and became legitimately captivating after Flynn started writing. It's a shame that the pre-reboot story didn't get a proper ending while the post-reboot story was cut so short, but I'm still very satisfied, it was the most fun I've had with a Sonic story since the old days. I completely bought into Sonic's and Sally's relationship, Sonic himself felt cool again, the side characters were all interesting, the lore felt bottomless, and it was a genuinely great action story that took itself seriously, something I wanted out of Sonic games since Unleashed. I finally fucking got it out of this comic. Even my wife Blaze got two very entertaining story arcs that easily trump everything she had to do in the games.I feel like reading Archie is a must for Adventurefags like me who didn't read it. The only problem is that you'll have to go through a lot of weird stuff before Flynn arrives, but I found that entertaining too, seeing a very different version of Sonic that tried to be something unique.
