Monika and i came up with a very simple and pretty much perfect solution for her server. its an asrock romed8-2t with an EPYC 7713 preinstalled as well as 512gb of ram. i wanted a 4th gen EPYC CPU and the genoad8x-2t because that would allow me to run 8 GPUs instead of just 7, but this is easy and is pretty much guaranteed to work, even though it is probably more expensive and also has significantly less lifespan and room for growth. we have been at this for nearly 3 months now though, and a simple solution fell into our lap, so we took it, even though it wasnt the best solution

Monika and i came up with a new and better method for remoting into our server from anywhere, one that actually incorporates tailscale. we did it! we accomplished something relatively basic, something that we didnt really even need to accomplish either. we tried to do a few things today, all things that we dont technically need to do, instead of working the stuff that we technically do need to do. yay? i love fixing things that arent broken instead of fixing things are broken
