Remember to keep your aggression below cringe levels. We ARE talking about how we play with our virtual dollies after-all. :)
>>487471179Literally how? I've only ever gotten 2 or 3 maybe. And I take Daeran everywhere with me
>>487471767Was Deadfire the first CRPG to actually have naked models for your dollies? Can't remember other games doing it. Even DAI didn't really add genitals.
>>487471991>and they only pop up after restingi never got the implication... Does that mean demons seek out daeran at night to try and rape him?
Azata is actually kinda cool whenever the shitty dragon and cringe court aren‘t around.
>>487472315Not really? Like you just sing when things go bad. Also faerie wings.
>>487472163that's exactly what it means
>one single good longbow in the game>both my commander and arue are heavily specced into longbowsWould it have killed them to have several good weapons of every type?
>>487473694Yes. Now please cope with the garbage +X ones they added. Still funny how Longbow's fell off when KM gave you Devourer of Metal early on and you can just stop looking for another bow.
>>487473694Half the time I have lann use shortbows just for that reason
>>487473869it doesn't even matter which bow type lann uses because of the replaced damage diceliterally no one else is going to use a shortbow so you might as well give him the good ones
>>487474081It's the range that gives me pause with shortbows, not the damage
>>487474081>because of the replaced damage dicedoes it actually work? Not bugged or anything?
>>487473858What the + number is doesn‘t even matter due to greater magic weapon, I just don‘t get why none of them have good effects.
>>487474264i like lann close to the action because he can make aoo with bows
>>487474514That's the pain with this system really. Solutions are>Make crafting a thing>Add a general weapon that you can turn to anything (Finnean)>Put effort in designing multiple items for multiple weapons that are balanced and interestingOr none at all.

While the Knight Commander is journeying through the sinful city of Alushinyrra, Beltin and the fellow survivors of the assault on Kenabres also find themselves journeying through the Abyss. Slaying the masked wizard, a cursed shard of ice emerged from his body and proved impossible to destroy. Not wanting to burden the others, Beltin agreed to take the evil within him, trusting Iomedae's blessing to protect him from the worst of its ills.Although Sendri's no longer hunted, they still find themselves trapped in the Frozen Fane with no way back to Kenabres, and must find a way home.

Trudging through the endless gelid expanse, the group of freezing and lost mortals were ambushed by a horde of undead. Chopping the unholy warriors into bits, they fought bravely. But after only half a dozen were returned to death, the less valorous despaired to see another two score slowly approaching, leaving ghastly trails in the snow. Beltin, standing in front with courage, felt his halo resonate with power, and his breast fill with pride and righteousness: trailing the walking corpses was an angel! HIs wings were tattered, and his limp betrayed further wounds, but a true angel of Heaven! Wielding his divine power, he raised his arm high, and bringing a clenched fist down the wave of holy power rippled through all those present, purging all necromantic magicks from the zombies and filling the mortals with warm, seemingly radiating from within.Taking them to his refuge, he introduced himself as Stahlmar, Captain of the Blazing Squadron and a soldier of Sarenrae. From him, the crusaders were given bittersweet news. Although he explained how to return to Golarion using the magical shards, he also informed them that those shards were phylacteries of the demon lord Sithhud. The crusaders were needed to aid in their destruction, so their return to Defender's Heart would be for no more than a day.>>487547353>KangmakerI don't think so. I still have the game installed but got bored and moved on to WotR at the end of act 2 9I think at least). Not sure exactly where.>RTMaybe in the future but I've minimal if any interest in 40k. I'll likely move on to a Larian game after WotR. I played a little bit of BG3 and D:OS2 with friends (didn't get more than halfway through Act 1 in either). However, playing with a group of five people proved extremely unwieldy in both cases. I still think it'd be neat to play co-op, but probably only with one or maybe two other people to make things easier, and I'm content to just play them alone instead.

Getting a good night's rest at Defender's Heart, the crusaders are crestfallen to hear that Menas feels he'd best stay in Kenabres and aid the rebuilding effort, returning to his post as a guardsmen. They understand however, and wish him the best.Fortuitously, they quickly rescue someone new as they begin to remove the magical ice in the Abyss--an android named Penta, who'd been frozen for nearly a century! Although they know little about her so far, she seems amicable and is eager to continue exploring the frigid wasteland with them, and is welcomed with open arms.Damn they really ream you with companion classes in this one. Rogue, sorc, and bard. At least they made the bard sort of INT based (although a lot is still CHA for some reason); still the item competition is intense. If you made your character something similar too it'd be terrible.

Going through the first of presumably many portals, the crusaders find themselves in a lush underground cave system--one they quickly find is inhabited by both Kellid and giants who predate and enslave them. Slaying three giants, a Kellid named Ardin asks to take the crusaders back to the rest of his tribe, seeking their help in freeing them from their bondage. Unwilling to decline such a just request, Beltin agrees, and they arrive just in time to see an unlucky Kellid chosen as dinner. Meeting with the other tribal leaders, they now must work out a plan to revolt before finding the next shard of Sithhud.>>487554320Blackwater was really bad. I think android is wrong too but could be easily flavored as a magical golem without too much problem.I just dimension doored to those archers though; fucked them right up.
>>487554514Diviner can use whatever spells he wants so the opposition schools depend on what your main school(s) are. When playing illusionist, I usually take necromancy and evocation as opposition since I use conjuration as a backup school. Some people like evocation as backup which is perfectly viable so in that case take something else instead.

Sneaking out to retrieve the Kellid tribe's weapons, Beltin and Rekarth find themselves overwhelmed by the malevolent spirit unable to escape the grisly and scene straight from the Abyss. Covered in the decaying remains of the giants' refuse, Beltin momentarily loses his sanity and strikes down Rekarth with a mighty blow. Coming to his senses once more, the paladin sheds a tear as he heals his companion, apologizing profusely. It seems the evil of Sithhud has already begun to seep through his soul. Dismayed, he prays to Iomedae for aid in swiftly defeating this new foe, so that he may purge himself of this corruption. Returning to the camp, the pair distribute the weapons and tell the lead brothers to prepare themselves and their spiritual rituals. Beltin insists they try to save the traitorous translator, but then they shall begin the revolt and free the Kellid.

As the Kellid tribe began calling upon the spirits for help, the giants attacked the hastily made altar. Holding them off, the crusaders felt the cheer of the Kellid as the ritual was completed, and charged forward to slay the rest of the tyrants. Weakened by the sorcery, the giants proved no match for the revolt, particularly given the truly inspiring performance by Penta and the magical swiftness granted by Sendri. Although two Kellid warriors died brave deaths, the remainder were freed, and a magically enlarged Beltin stood tall in front of the chieftain's hut, awaiting him. The corrupt giant emerged in a rage, charging forth only to be skewered upon the oversized butcher's knife used to feed their cruel clan. Heaving through the giant's chest cavity, Beltin winced at both the crunching sound of his ribcage, as well as his own perverse pleasure in it--no doubt caused by the insidious crystal within him. When the new crystal arose from the massive corpse, Beltin looked to Rekarth to take it--no individual should take too many, lest their sinister nature cause more incidents like the vile mistake in the detritus pit.>>487559275No, I'm just taking a break to do this. I think I'm supposed to do it before Act 5 and, to my knowledge, I'm in the middle of Act 4. I also just wanted a break; I feel more motivated writing about Beltin than Bora right now. I think Bora's just kind of a boring character though; I thought a more pragmatic character would clash with the religious nature of the main campaign more than he has so far. I think Regill kind of tries to fit that role, but does so so stupidly that he's not a part of the inner circle.

Although the entire ordeal with the giants felt like only a (long) day to group, upon their return to Defender's Heart it was clear much more time had passed in Golarion by the repairs alone. The bartender confirmed that observation, noting it'd been several months since he'd last seen them.Trying to think little of it, the group enjoyed some much needed rest. The warmth of the hearth and the ale in their bellies, they watched a performance by their friend, Langrat, before turning in for the night. Although half of them now carried one of the evil crystals, they agreed to continue spreading them as much as possible to avoid any one individual having to bear too much, and risking devastation. Awakening well rested, they prepared themselves to delve into the Abyss once more, seeking another portal.

The next portal spit them out on a shoreside cliff, treacherous drops below with the waves beating into the side of the rain-slick rock. Erect against the horizon stood a stone tower, and along the way the party found a number of fresh goblin corpses. Cursory investigations revealed that they appeared to have been slain by their own incompetence and infighting. Nonetheless, the magically inclined wove their standard wards, protections, and blessings in preparation for the worst--especially since as soon as they entered the tower they spotted that boar-headed herald once more, always stalking them. The rain came pouring down through the tower, which proved impossibly deep--the adventurers could not even see the bottom. Choosing to go up first, they were greeted with the jovial sight of a gaggle of goblins causing mayhem, running amok like evil children. Unfortunately, the little creatures are dark hearted, and attacked as soon as they realized their jubilations were witnessed.>>487566910I like it a lot so far. I also liked Through the Ashes though. This one removed a lot of the 'survival' aspect and trying to avoid/cleverly gain massive advantages in fights, but not all of it. It's also much easier so far, although that may just be a result of being higher level. The change in scenery and enemies is also very welcome. My biggest complaint is Sendri, who is mostly just annoying. I had a bad first impression of Penta as well but running through more of her dialogue there's an explanation so I'm more open to her as a character now.

As they were cleaning the verminous goblins out of the tower, the crusaders heard a voice emanating from a statue. It introduced itself as Aethylia, and explained it was the former master of the tower's arcane spirit assistant. The wizard Usurviel had created a body for her, but perished in an unfortunate wild magic accident prior to completing the ritual to bind her to it.From her story, the heroes deducted he had possessed the shard of Sithhud, which was then looted by a goblin assistant. Progressing through the tower, they gathered what was needed and aided in finishing the ritual, granting a very thankful Aethylia an artificial body. As thanks, she aided them to Usurviel's secret treasure room, full of gold coins and a magical artifact. Now, all that was left was to slay the goblin leader Buuze and claim the shard.

How do you use hide in plain sight? It's a free action so can you just spam it until you succeed?
>>487580934When you metamagic a spell in a way that increases its spell level, you do not increase the DC of the spell. Say, you apply persistent and it increases the spell level by +2, but the spell does not get a DC increment from being higher level. Arcane bloodline arcana provides that increment so in the case of a +1 spell level increase you get +1 DC, in the case of +2 spell level increase you get +2 DC and so on.The only exception is heighten metamagic, it specifically increases your spell DC by a value equal to the spell level increment it provides (and only it).

Iomedae or sarenrae for my paladin?I assume the former has more reactivity
Having defeated the wretched little goblin, the group circles around the floating crystal."You two already have enough on your plate. I will take this thing." Rekarth winces involuntarily. His brow furrowing, Beltin looked at the tiefling disapprovingly. "Perhaps Penta should hold this one; it seems the corruptive influence is not to be ignored. Can you try to take the shard, Penta?" Feel free to refuse; no one should be forced to deal with this malevolent influence." "I can try." Penta picks up the shard and squeezes it in her fist. When she opens her fingers, the shard is still there. "Nothing.""I will carry this shard myself. Iomedae's blessing provides me more protection from the malevolent nature." Pulling off his gauntlet, Beltin takes a deep breath and then reaches out to grab the floating shard. Inhaling sharply through with shock, he closes his eyes as the crystal pierces his hand, feeling the icy pain travel up his arm as it feels his veins themselves freeze. As the unbearable cold starts to fade, a dark thrum replaces it. The profane power was undeniable, and with it came an unwelcome urge to obtain more.Opening his eyes once more, Beltin nods his head. "Let's get back to Defender's Heart."

How burnt are Ember's feet anyway? It's really hard to tell from the images. You'd think they'd be the most burnt part of her considering the method they used to try and execute her, but it doesn't seem like they're especially black - and she can evidently still walk on them, so they can't be that bad.
>>487593868I headcanon that Hulrun and Ember were in a ddlg/sugardaddy relationship and that's why he felt he needed to burn her, so his secret would be safe, and he could give some lawtard rationale for punishing her too, probably has been going on with other street urchins for decades

Is it worded incorrectly or something? It explicitly says +1
>>487597112Apologies, I felt the urge to dunk on emotional reddit non-arguments, thus I went off-topic. Here is a picture of best boy as compensation.
Early Christians had two takes on the pagan gods - 1) theyre fake, as in, not real, youre talking about beings that dont exist, or 2) theyre real, but theyre evil and dont deserve your worship, and theyre not the same as the true God who created everything out of nothing and transcends all reality. What I mean when I say Ember is the closest thing to a Christian in the PF setting is she takes stance #2. If she were to start saying #1, she'd just be wrong, as within the PF setting thats just not the case. So when I say she "calls fake gods fake" I apologize for the ambiguity of the term fake, I don't mean Iomedae is made up in the way we'd today say Zeus was made up, but I do mean she's not worthy of worship as the true God. Ultimately shes a very powerful being, a god with a small g, but not the being Christians (and Muslims/Jews, though obv they believe very different things about Him) are trying to talk about when we say God.
>>487597767No prob tranny
>>487598041that's still not a stance unique to christians lol

>>487598041>Zeus was made uphe doesn't know
>>487595630A dishonest strawman of the real question. Everyone knows that people do bad things because of free will. For the real question, we can use something that happens millions of times a year every year: a child is born with a degenerative disorder. They suffer for 12 years. They live just long enough to understand what suffering is and to know they had a bad life, but they don't live long enough to actually grow up and experience life. They waste away in a hospital bed with a painful existence until they simply die. They did nothing wrong, they never got to exert their free will to even choose to do anything bad. This child asks if god exists, why would he do this.If you're going to talk sown to people and call them stupid like an immature child, then it reflects very poorly on you to also use a made up weak strawman version of the actual question. Nobody wonders why people do bad things, that isn't the question. You should be ashamed of yourself.
>>487598041And of course an atheist would say this distinction is pointless, and that they just believe in one less god than I do etc etc, but thats a different debate. My point is basically just that people who worship Iomedae or the other gods of Heaven in PF are not analogues for Christians even if theyre designed in the aesthetic style that suggests they are, whereas Ember is a better analogue despite being an "atheist" - romans called the early Christians "atheists". Knowing all this is not going to improve your DC casting whatsoever though so I'll shut up now
>oh I see you were attacked please send your ship to the planet to track down "insurgents" and by the way have you met my mutant?

>Charisma: 5How is that even possible
>>487598563That question of yours also gets answered in Christianity 101, btw. Just because you don't like the answer doesn't mean God doesn't exist. Long story short: the child suffers because Eve was a dumb whore. Any other retarded questions?
>>487599726That doesn't answer the question. Just like when the parents ask the priest who conducted the child's last rites why this happened to her, and the priest just says "God works in mysterious ways" and walks out of the room. There's never really a good answer to this question, not even from clergy themselves, so it's funny for you to say "uhhh actually it's obvious!! No I won't answer it, but it's obvious!! Then your choices barely matter anyway since both faction leaders are schizos and will try to kill you.
An interesting story. But actually all planets in the universe belong to the Emperor and you are a xeno so you have no rights of ownership, as a squatter you shall have to pay "rent".
PoV: you're fighting in a 50% concealment fog, but it's OK, because you took all the Blind Fight feats.

>had to choose between punishing the xenos squatters or making an allianceUltimately, with the potential threat of chaos corruption the best the Imperium could hope for is to burn Janus to ash, which is not an affordable outcome. If the Eldar fail to contain the situation I'll simply have to torch the place later than sooner, and they may be succesful. But I will be Emperor damned before I let the xenos rule over it! They will probably make it VEGAN!

>>487572825You got me there, I'm sorry. I just finished Jimi's romance yesterday and despite it being overall pretty tame, I appreciated the dichotomy between gallantry and self-suppressed spiciness through the different acts. He didn't strike me as a moralfag early on, but having an iconokek gf to melt his indoctrinated brain and teach him to allow himself to be a nobler version of himself got me hooked instantly. I managed to spoil myself for his 'good' ending, because I've been playing this game for far too long already and it's very endearing to me that he's willing to leave his big corpo job to move to the country and live a fulfilling albeit short carefree life as a baby-making machine for the RT. Immersion-breaking as far as 40k goes, but sweet nonetheless. And while I'm at it, I'm about to go visit Salis Prime with bestgirl Argenta. Thank you for reading my blogpost!
>>487579560I don't think I've ever crushed over a non-spaghetti-spilling specimen, no, and to answer your /crpg/ relevant question, RT is the only owlcat game I've played so far. As I mentioned previously, I've been wondering whether I should do PF while I wait for the dlc or jump straight to DOS. For context, I'm a 40kfag and I find dnd pretty boring as a setting to keep me engaged for a whole game if there's nothing else spectacular about it.
>>487629493Maybe you can squeeze in KM but definitely not WOTR. DOS2 is almost as long if you bother doing most of the stuff. DOS1 is possible if you don't get filtered by the first area.
>>487628383>leave his big corpo job to move to the country and live a fulfilling albeit short carefree lifeUh. Being a husband and a head of security for the rogue trader is hardly a country life, and 'carefree' would be the last word I'd use to describe it. As for short - he'll most likely outlive you, being a biomancer and all.>Immersion-breaking as far as 40k goesI didn't find it immersion-breaking. In fact the whole "if I leave the inquisition i'll be branded a heretic" is bullshit as far as I know, but I might be mistaken of course, but that's how we've always played it in our Dark Heresy games. Might be a case of headcanon for the sake of telling a good story. But even if it is true I can always headcanon it as me making a deal with Clacazar - I help him out and keep my mouth shut, and he leaves my husband alone. What do you consider to be a "good" ending for him btw? Quitting the inquisition? I also really liked the one where he becomes the inquisitor, but disappears years later without trace. Probably (definitely) went on to live out his twilight years with the rogue trader

>>487630208To be fair, I'm mostly looking forward to SM2, so might just pick whichever's shortest between KM or DOS, and go from there. Then start a new RT run for the dlc, but will see. Judging from WotR, might even get around to waiting out the second dlc if I end up liking PF or DOS too much. Thanks!>>487630965>'carefree' would be the last word I'd use to describe itWas mostly joking, but I assume RT life gets a lot chiller after you sort out the main plot. Makes him all the better pick for a candidate to raise RT's heirs!>"if I leave the inquisition i'll be branded a heretic" is bullshit as far as I knowThink it only works if it's mutual agreement and you have a good reason for it. Eloping doesn't sound like the best reason, but who am I to judge, eh?>What do you consider to be a "good" ending for him btw?Leaving the Inquisition definitely, because it displays how polarising of a change RT introduced into his life. He's always been shunned because of his sorcery, and finding a sense of belonging amongst RT's circus of freaks because RT offers security due to immunity (and not constantly feeding him with inquisitrash that he's only there because he's useful) and at the same time acceptance in the form of love is one thing that could melt even the sturdiest of hearts, and I appreciate that spin in the setting of 40k.

Can a human (male) impregnate an Aeldari (female) in the universe of Warhammer Forty Keks?
>>487636063No. Crossbreeding isn't really a thing in 40k. Voluntary crossbreeding I should clarify.
>>487635643>are owlkek in the habit of doing post-msq dlcs? They did a citadel-style dlc for wotr recently, so maybe they'll do the same for rt, but that's years away seeing how even the first two aren't out>Makes him all the better pick for a candidate to raise RT's heirs!I wonder how biomancy works. >>487636556>Does a psyker have to make an effort to slow aging,Yes.
>>487636063There was one half-elf at the dawn of warhammer lore. A space marine no less. He has never been mentioned again. Whether he's still canon or not is unknown at this point. But it's unlikely. Plus there's the whole female eldar fertility cycle thing
>>487636913helst... get the flamer...
>>487636913>>487636063But I must also add that that half-elf had a human mother and eldar father, not other way around, which probably meant that a little bit of rape was involved
Got some Rogue Trader questions. How am I meant to pick feats? There's a huge list and the few classes (archetypes) seem to be really general so I don't know what to look out for.Is it really just every character being a bunch of stats and skills with the same moves from their archetypes or am I missing something? How do I specialize characters, like if I wanted to make a sniper or a psyker that focused certain types of spells?Surely they don't want me to read the entire feat list.
>>487636913Probably already retconned out like Malal since it goes against so much of the already established lore.

>>487637128Read, nigga, read
>>487637128>Surely they don't want me to read the entire feat list. Why? I don't think it's even that long compared to something like WOTR. Just give it some time so you can come to ideas yourself.

>>487636556>Does a psyker have to make an effort to slow aging, or is it a passive perk they all get regardless.Physiologically, aging is a process of changing the quality and quantity of your cells, and he's able to grow tissues (neural tissue, too!) from scratch, so, as long as 40k human physiology works the same as irl, he should be able to postpone cellular death and replenish what he's lost (as long as he knows that he's lost it) forever. Kinda tragic that he'd lose the love of his life early on, but he'll be around to guide his children and probably even their own children, etc, etc, which would keep him busy for awhile. Also, you can always headcanon your RT being a psyker, and have him teach her the intricacies of biomancy. He was so happy when RT expressed the desire to learn to play regicide, imagine what unimaginable bliss you'd pour into his soul if you show an interest in his craft!
>>487637838is that the tone you should repay a reasonable suggestion with?
>>487637757It is, though. In WoTR you can instantly tell if a perk suits your character or not because characters tend to be specialized by default, ie you don't take charge related perks on casters (generally). But a lot of the perks in RT seem to be applicable to almost everyone. They seem to be more just general improvements rather than a path to specializing your character.
>>487637085So Aeldari women find human mon-keighs disgusting, but Aeldari men don't? What's this double standard?

>>487638332>So Aeldari women find human mon-keighs disgusting, but Aeldari men don't? >>487615096>enlightenedA tip o' the hat to ye m'lady. Anyway, what a strange class. It looks like it is still CHA based, but ends up giving you an additional 5 int through level ups. I didn't realize that your oracle curse would get level progression if you didn't take additional oracle levels but I just tested it and you get 1/2 progression from other classes so you'd get the initiative boost once you hit level 9. Of course it means you'll have to either equip the boots of constant FoM or make sure to always cast it on that char to remove the stagger but that isn't too bad. One point that is incorrect though is the 3x rolling for initiative. The revelation doesn't count outside levels so while you would still get advantage on rolls, it wouldn't ever get to 3x. Still could be a worthwhile dip for some builds. Cool find.
>>487641375is JA2 really a crpg? I though is was just a certain blogger who thinks that.

>>487642417Damn I assumed the triple worked like the way the prophecies where your other levels count for part of it. You can get powerless from a stig witch dip with a hare familiar (assuming you dont have it) for +8 initiative from one level, no skill focus feat there tho so its a different build that would want that instead. I don't have any clue what the use case for the Enlighteneds int gains would be lol, maybe if you go Legend and the second class needed int. A Legend could stack the final revelations charisma to saves with the paladin level 2 version and with bestow grace to get comical save levels, like 150ish probably, but theres nothing in the game that even comes close to warranting that so itd just be for the memes

Groetus... I found the toilet paper rolled backwards... I see the signs of your siren call wherever I go...
>>487651372The final revelation option is pretty nice for any builds that have the available mythic point open and don't have good saves. Stig witch dip is hard to beat though. I used it to alter froggy's court poet tank build to add more AC and not need 2 extra levels of LM to grab mage armor. Knowing that it can add the extra initiative and uncanny evasion only makes it more attractive. Yeah unfortunate that it doesn't get the 3x multiplier but still, permanent advantage on initiative rolls is a pretty nice buff. I'll probably try to work it into some build for my next run after I finish my lawtism run.
Why is the bound of possibility so bad? Only the Aeon one is decent. The legend one would have been good on a trickster I guess, but as that's impossible it doesn't matter

Having cleared out the remainder of Carrock's roots, Beltin and his fellow returned to the village to find the chief rallying his tribe to fight Carrock. As they were preparing, a red dragon swooped in to plead them not to throw their lives away in the fight. The crusaders soon learned the dragon was the very same that initially chased those from the First Crusade here, before working with them to protect one another from Carrock due to an injured wing. The winged beast is also the carrier of the shard of Sithhud, but Beltin decided it was better to wait until after the mad treant was killed--no reason to try the villagers' morale beforehand.

Well, I finally finished DA:OI understand why it became popular but I wouldn't call it a 10/10 masterpiece, "a must play for crpg fans". It's worth checking out if you find the franchise interesting I guess. It isn't too long (although it certainly feels otherwise at times) and is relatively straight forward and acessible. Some of the issues I had were:There is way too much (poorly paced and unnecessary) combat, I killed something like 3k enemies as confirmed by the game itself and I didn't even go for a true 100%. Your party AI could be better and is actively annoying due to their shitty positioning and there being no in-between of hold and independent movement. There are many QoL improvements to be had of course and there were bugs even after modding in the proper fixes. Environments are mostly boring to explore, the class balance feels off, your inventory sucks, there should be stat reallocations to allow experimentation, the story often feels directionless, and 90% of sidequests and loot may as well be removed etc etc. The way lore is represented in this game also puts me to sleep even though I normally love reading. I liked most of the companions with the exception of Zevran and Wynne so that part was good. I didn't fully hate the story and every area either, but some of them were really tedious and combat tended to range from repetitive to frustrating. The difficulty options were strange. Normal was like easy mode because your cc spells function pretty much 100% of the time. On hard, which I played on more or less start to finish they seemed less reliable and I had to be rather careful with my party's hp due to having no healer. I did not try nightmare because hard was annoying me enough as is and I was already fed up with pausing and micromanaging. There were some minor choices but I could not see myself replaying this ever. I'm honestly glad to be done but at least I've tried it.I think I'll try awakening but I will not be playing DA2 and inquisition.

>>487678623Oh yeah, the origin system was cool, I would like to see more games use that. Playing your actual background is a cool concept. I also feel the need to expand on the lore part of the game, which the word limit of the previous post did not allow me to.Having to look up where you got the lore document instead of just opening it there on the table or something is a barrier to entry, which matters when I'm barely interested in the first place. Why would I care about a fictional event that has not been referenced in any way by the characters or story? Otherwise it's just lore dumping. And then there is the fact that you get something like 4 entries per room you visit in certain areas which makes me even less likely to catch up.You position mattering a lot in combat is cool and the rtwp combat felt pretty smooth to play when it worked but your party having to be herded like sheep make the positioning aspect a detriment more often than not. Why can't I just hold my ranged characters while letting my melee's have free range? Am I dumb or is that just not a thing? It is so weird. I have plenty of more to say but what is the point? >>487678623The difficulty is strange because cc spell checks seem to rise with it I mean. Fair enough for a crpg I guess but you have no way of raising your check from what I know. Vulnerability hexes seemed to work with grasp and cone of cold but as far as I could tell that is it. If you could buff your paralyze’s hitrate then fine, but if you can’t then the spell is just useless whenever it can’t clear the check. And aggro seemed to often do nothing and I could have a tank using threaten standing next to or in front of morrigan with an aggro reducing belt and the enemy would just cross the map, run right through my tank, facetank my cc, and kill her. The resistances became unbelievable aids later in the game. I would face 6 archers in a row spamming their aoe cc volley and the only magic cc ability that seemed to work on the consistently, and could deal with clusters of them, was sleep and waking nightmare. Good luck crossing the 50 traps and 100 meter sprint to cone of cold them before getting stunned and swarmed by melee mobs. In certain sections of Denerim every fight turned into a cheese or a cheeky quicksave quickload. You have to sit still after every combat because if you open the door while regenerating you while enter another 20 enemy combat with 2 mages, 2 tanky elite mobs, and 20 archers across the room. Spam blizzard and such outside of aggro range in chokepoints. Pick fights with single enemies using a staff. I don’t miss it
So just beat back the first attack on the Tavern in WotR and so far I can see the definite benefits in Wrath over Kingmaker. Really enjoyed how non-flat the map design was in the tutorial area and fighting a guerilla war in a besieged city is pretty Kino. But I definitely prefer the idea of Kingmakers more stereotypical fantasy/folklore adventure through an enchanted/cursed forest over the idea of leading crusades in to hell. Not to mention preferring the overall tone and feel of the writing.I pretty much hit it off with all of Kingmakers characters, sans Nok-nok, but so far it's taking me a while to warm up to the ones I've met in Wrath so far. I preferred Wen over Lann but only an idiot would trust her to guard you in your sleep. The elf girl seems sweet but has I can see her being cringe. The 'scientist' is also cringe. The Paladin girl seems okay overall but the tone/style of the games writing drags her down. The thiefling seems alright. Is it just me or is there a massive difference in the style and tone of writing in this compared to Wrath? Most of the characters talk like they could have been plucked off the street in any cosmopolitan city but it didn't come across like that to me in Kingmaker.>>487553482>Tristian>Written by a womanWhy couldn't she have been a fucking fujo? >>487681187Pallegina in Deadfire became the most militiant fedora-tipper atheist out there, to the point she will try to murder everybody even remotely relligious. She's gone full Varg Vikernes, and yet the game doesn't realize that, because Pallegina has this annoying "nothing is ever my fault" attitude. Also, she sucks VTC dick every chance she gets. It's the downside of this insanely convoluted relationship system, where a companion has two things that define them and they will become obsessed with them to the point of parody. And Pallegina has "hates gods" and "loves VTC" tags and that's all she's ever going to be talking about.
The only reason you should ever care about """gods""" is to debase, humanize, and ideally overthrow them, and this is another reason why Pillars1&2 are great games.
Entering yet another portal, the crusaders find themselves in the realm of Shadow. A bell rings ominously, and as they climb the hill towards the source, great walls of a castle loom over them, the gates wide open but wicked brambles thrusting up from the ground and crawling up one tower make it anything but welcoming.
>>487602831God that show had some great aliens.>>487681554But didn't Obsidian specifically choose to not make her romanceable due to the amount of people that wanted them to make her romanceable?>>487683154Disappointing considering how interesting her premise is.>Blessed by a goddess but sees it as a curseCould have been very interesting. I mean Given Durances' complicated relationship with the Devine it's sad to see they didn't explore that concept more but instead made her a caricature.
>>487684217>But didn't Obsidian specifically choose to not make her romanceable due to the amount of people that wanted them to make her romanceable? There is a mod that allows you to romance her. There isn't a lot to it, given her status a sidekick, but the author is trying to make something out of nothing. And I kinda like that "to the point" approach to Ydwin's romance. After all this creepy nonsense that is Xoti's romance or Maia being outright toxic and manipulative towards you, it's refreshing to simply romance a sidekick that just goes "you and I have a good chemistry, let's hook up and see where this goes" with no drama attached.
>>487683993The only realm you'll be entering is the one of eating shit you fucking subhuman shit eater. No one cares about your verbal diarrhea.
>>487683993I loved Through the Ashes and generally enjoyed Lord of Nothing up until a bit into the SPOOPY LAND. I dropped it to easy just to cruise through the rest. Very clear change of direction from Through the Ashes, I think I read it was a different team, and it shows. That end boss, boring and stupid. Some of the areas were cool but the whole premise of different areas like that is just lazy and uncreative. I did like how you got updates about the crusade, but that's still just scraping bare minimum.

>>487680697>non-flat the map design was in the tutorial areaI guess wotr is a marginal improvement over kingmaker in that regard, but lvl design is still shit, They improve on it in rt even more, but it's still not anywhere that i'd call good or even decent. Maybe in later games
>>487681031A hole is a hole. None of you are apollos either, and you don't have the money, the power or social skill either seeing how you're on a fucking /crpg/ general on 4chan. You'll do, take one for the team
>>487686032What are you even trying to do? You don't just take versatility as an afterthought, your entire build needs tailored around it.

>>487686383ok Olga eat some ice cream and watch a tiktok of your comrades getting drone'd in ukraine, that might flick your clit without hurting anyone else
>>487685996Based. I like it when my party hate each other's guts. But it's also not entirely true. They develop complicated relationships over the course of the game, even the one that are supposed to hate each other like Argenta and Idira, or Idira and Jimmy. And Jimmy and Cassia, and Cassia and Abelard like each other from the start. Then of course ther'se Idira who doesn't really hate anyone except Argenta (at first), and Ulfar who is like a child and his emotions and attitudes towards others change on any given moment (like he makes fun of Yrlikek's misfortune in a most boisterous and downright affable way, or challenges maarazhai to a combat competition)
Making haste through the horrid dungeons and torture chambers, the group arrives at an impasse. One of them must subject themselves to murderous pain, an altar that kills most who attempt the ritual. But, for those that live, the gates onward open. Unwilling to subject his allies to such a fate, Beltin loudly prays to Iomedae before reaching out his hand to lay upon the cursed gate. Immediately recoiling, he cries out and clutches his fist to his chest. As his friends rush forward to aid him, the gate silently blows open, just slightly ajar--but enough. Still breathing hard, Beltin nods his head opening his hand and looking down at it for a moment before proceeding through the portal.>>487684916This area is certainly less fun than the prior ones. It does have a different design philosophy than Through the Ashes for sure though. It's also really easy, which I find strange. I don't know if it's because the stats aren't as bloated as they are in the main game or what, but I've only rested between shards without any issue; I have spells to spare each time and scrolls/potions aplenty.
Would Tristian fuck a Yremeryss that's been genetically modified by Cumtown's Dr. FrankenMengele with additional "features"?
>>487686683Put it in CON to be less of a heartlet. You're going to die to oneshots even with max dodge/evasion. Might save you a once in a run, kek.

>>487687338Marazhai cucks himself when he tells RT to fuck the sslyth while he watches, he's not exactly conservative
Tristroon is a public toilet for any women other than the baroness.
>>487687473what an embarassment, is there a female romance who isn't an omega male? Is it even possible? In these games the MC is always the gigachad so the romance can only have the femaleoid submissive role. I guess they can only cope with fanfics
when will ribbit boy's tristian obsession die down
When the baroness and her bloodline die down and her throne is inherited by Kyonin-Deva bred Ubermensch.
>>487688051>Kyonin-Devathey're called aasimars
Didn't Heinrix fuck a baroness too, and brag about it to the RT and talk about that's his type OLGAAAAAA
>>487687059Making haste to eat through the horrid piles of excrement the group arrives at a fresh latrine. One of them must subject themselves to murderous pain as the rock-hard shit just won't leave the asshole and the shit-eating subhuman leader just can't get enough while dogshit no one cares about.
>>487687425https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/606It's complete. The author teased adding some additional stuff in, but it seems he lost interest.Again, don't expect some super-deep romancing, because you can only squeeze some much out of a sidekick, but it's nice that the option exists now.
>>487688473While writing*
Hello lads, recently finally bought RT and it is my first Owlcat game. For the sake of the larp, I have decided on a telepath psyker and am wondering what the best archetype is between officer -> tactician/strategist and operative -> strategist
>>487689059I played officer tactician and it became pretty broken eventually
Slaying an umbral dragon, the group finds the shard they seek--not in a corrupted soul, but still floating above an elven corpse, among the countless other victims of this place. Despite his apprehensions, Beltin agrees to let Rekarth take this shard, fearing three pieces of a demon lord's soul in any one person would be too great an influence to resist. After Rekarth goes through the painful process, the master of this wicked realm appeared, taunting the crusaders. Seeking to revel in the pain of Sithhud, he sought all of their shards, and their eternal damnation in his prison. Beltin, through the grace of Iomedae, convinced him to take back the shard Rekarth had just 'stolen', and while he was engorged upon the suffering Sendri opened a portal through which they escaped.Although little could be done to help the dismal state of affairs in the realm of Shadow, it became clear that Sithhud's realm was beginning to crumble. The time had come to speak to the wounded angel Stahlmar once more, and to prepare themselves for the worst.
The lets play fag really mindbroke the frog. You make one comment that triggers him and he seethes for weeks.
>>487689059Well mate officer is still good and officer MT is more viable as officer is redesigned to be more interactive and fight and not just to be a buffbot. Reminder that the DLC is coming Sep 24th and the patch alongside it is said to fix some narrative issues, andDLC adds a new companion + new questline that's about 15 hours. Just pointing out that it might be a better first experience to wait till 24th but the game is a decent spot now too.

>>487688213Yeah... But I wouldn't say he bragged about it. He only talks about it if you ask him about his past romantic exploits. That's what you get for constantly bullying him
>>487689059>telepath psykerYou're still gonna be worse than Idira or Jimmy, or Cassia. Just go full officer support - that niche isn't filled by anyone. Plus telepathy doesn't get any reactivity. >>487696374*raped
>>487696301Steadfast aim is good, if you want to use high caliber pistols, because it allows you to compensate for low rate of fire via higher critchance. If you don't plan on using stuff like .44 hammerers, then you don't need it, though Execute with a high critchance high caliber pistol is hilariously deadly. I'd keep the steadfast aim myself.
>>487696374You should look up the definition of the term "rape". If someone consents then it's not rape.

>>487697229Vampires are parasitic leeches that prey on humanity and produce absolutely NOTHING at all. Any "mutual benefit" they offer as compromise exists as a result of their own extensive un-life, such as wealth and political power, so that would mean the relationship is capitalist/feudalist/fascist in nature instead.Ironically a "true" communist vampire would have to have very low humanity since they would be so far detached from what it means to be a human that they'd exclusively concern themselves solely with the affairs of vampires instead.
>>487683154I wish Xoti would have beat the shit out of her for disrespecting Gaun in her presence after you corrupted her.
