You can always cover a flank with one trap, or even put some closer to you so that if you get rushed you can panic det to kill the enemy or stickyjump away. while the enemies have to deal with shooting or navigating your minefield of stickies to get to you, running into trap after trap, you can just lob pills at them, or y'know reload, because you are going to be doing a lot of reloading.

The answer is you don't, it's purely for style points now, as in not practical. Tiny head hitbox remains an issue, and gets worse the closer you are.
