It is almost August. The tail end of summer and halfway through the year. AetherRoom was slated for release at the end of 2023 or early 2024. Closed Alpha has started, but less than 100 people got in. It's unlikely we'll see release until 2025 and the NAI update even later. To make matters worse, LLM technology appears to have resumed making progress. By the time NAI gets 70b it will mirror Kayra's 13b compared to larger models at the time. Go ahead and defend NAI, call me a namefag or do whatever you need to cope. Majority of the thread is using Claude proxies like the hypocritical locusts they truly are. At the end of the day, doom won. Doom always wins.

prompts for the olympics?
>>488002210It's a very demonstrable example of why policing language is a losing game. There's always another way to phrase something or word something that's gonna get past the way they try to censor stuff. It's really just fucking stupid the things that they try but I really think most developers don't understand linguistics well enough to try to govern language use.
>>488022978Ehh, I'm about 90% certain they will figure out a way to make these things thought police themselves the way the want one. Obviously I hope that isn't the case, but that concern keeps me subbed to NAI despite the current issues. Only time will tell.
am I really in the minority now for using NAI?Not that it matters much, just saw replies to >>487780129 last thread and was surprised.
>>488023948It's a matter of focus. The more you tell a language model to police a particular kind of language the more it's going to interfere with the rest of the process. The only to make a language model not use a type of language is to complete avoid teaching it that from the very beginning. By telling the model "PAY ATTENTION TO THIS TYPE OF LANGUAGE" it just pollutes the system entirely. Honestly if they had any idea how to properly censor models they would include intentionally false training instead of training on graphic literature and then telling it not to do that. You can't build a moat by building two mountains and flooding the newly made valley.
>>488025512No idea. I use NAI and Claude myself. If this 70B finetune is good I'll probably mostly use that.Even using Claude as instruct, I really just can't care about the chat format.
>>488025703What I don't get is, why not just have the standard be an uncensored model and a simple blacklist between the model and the user? It works, lots of providers are already using it. Seems dumb to try and reinvent the wheel by baking filters into the base model rather than using a second layer dedicated to censoring.
>>488025512Judging by last time I think everybody is in wait mode, but since there's a lot of options now compared to last time people use those, because they might as well.
>>488025512I held out with griffin for an embarrassingly long time literally until euterpe's general release because I balked at paying a subscription to anything so to me, this is nothing
>>488025512There's still a decent amount of NAI storyposts, so I don't think the usage has cratered, but you can't really judge much because model usage has become such a poisoned topic. I use NAI. That's all I truly know.
>>488025998>>488026069>>488026502It just surprised me that despite most of the storyposts being from NAI, no one named it.>>488026852>model usage has become such a poisoned topic.I guess I can see that. People discussing other models they use to avoid angry frog rees.Anyway it doesn't bother me much who uses what, and I'd experiment with models if my pc was any good too.
>>488026061It's a matter of greed. These are products first and foremost. They want to be able to cover their bases without that second layer. With the second layer you are relying on the user to self police and that scares businesses. It's why you can't call yourself the nigga in the starbucks app. They don't want to have the image of their logo's being plastered on something that will be seen as hateful. Admitting that the services aren't skynet AI capable of doing your taxes that hurts their bottom line so going out of the way to pre-censor seems like a smart idea. It looks better to shareholders and executives when the "AI" comes back with a psuedointellectual "I am afraid I can't do that Dave" compared to a nerd saying "I haven't set up the blacklist">>488027206It's really not that big of a deal since mostly everything operates with the same functions and processes. Learning token use from using NAI will help using Claude because it all uses the same technological bases. Unless you are the resident turbo sperg it doesn't really matter what you are using.
>>488025512The cabal needs to maintain the illusion that this isn't a NovelAI-only thread.
>>488025512I use NAI and some of the new models. I'm just not doing much NAI storyposting now because quite frankly Kayra seems like shit after trying out these other things. I do have a new NAI prompt ready for next friday though and might make one or two more as well.

"The cabal could be here" he thought, "I've been in this general before, all day every day. There could be cabal members anywhere." The stale basement air felt bad against his bare flabby chest. "I HATE cabal" he thought. The Russian national anthem reverberated his entire basement, making it vibrate even as the $1 vodka circulated through his fat clogged veins and fuelled his (deluded) fear of "The Cabal" all day long. "With a PC, you can shitpost anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.
>>488051082writing is done with the vagina dumbass lol. how else are you supposed to hold the pencil
Alright, yeah, this one's working pretty good too. That's my two Friday prompts done and dusted, then.
>>488051894Do you ever write stuff that isn't explicitly meant as a romance/smut story? Like, adventure or scifi or historical without a love interest baked into the plot?
>>488052452No because the AI isn't very good at it.It's not very good at smut either, but that has lower standards.
>>488052590Sounds like a skill issue.
>>488052452AI is only good for ERP.
>>488052774Stories > RP
>>488052590Really? I find the AI good at fleshing stuff out that I'm too lazy to write, provided I steer the broad strokes. But I like genre fiction, so my standards are rock-bottom I guess.
>>488007726they're hardcore EAs, which is a different breed0-loyalty, ends-justify-the-means (and they get to arbitrarily pick the ends), and if you disagree with them they'll ask you to read 10000 lesswrong and alignmentforum posts that have "already" addressed everything you sayOn the flip side they can be ruthlessly single-minded and effective
>>488025512I desperately want to use NAI, but it's too slow for my purposes, so I switch off to using open models. I'm happy to try them again when they have an update, but that isn't coming out for another 3 years
>>488053129Comments like this>but that isn't coming out for another 3 yearsMake me doubt you. Quit console warring. There is no need to shit up the thread with negativity.
>>488053129Too slow?
I don't care what console you use, what monster uses fucking streaming responses and why is it always on by default? You really need to see this shit appear one token at a time?
>>488053129For me the speed is fine and even the context is tolerable, but it's too dumb to use without lots of rerolls and editing. I like the prose style, but don't like the content it comes up with more often than not.Stuff I could come up with myself, which kind of defeats the purpose of paying for a service. It helps with writer's block, but when I'm feeling creative it doesn't carry its weight.
>>488053357I wanted to end off with a joke, but you get my point. I'm not waiting around indefinitely for their 70B finetune especially since they're not giving any indication of where it is. I'll try what they have when it's ready and I expect it will be decent, but in the meantime I'll go use other setups that better fit what I want>>488053498about 8 seconds a generation when I last timed itFast/slow depends on personal usage and taste. Like streaming helps some folks but does nothing for me
>>488053669It's not a joke if it isn't funny.
>>488053557What's wrong with streaming responses? If it hits something I don't like, I can cancel the gen and reroll it without waiting for ot to gen fully.
>>488053669I used to get around the slower response time but just genning 2 stories in separate windows, but the recently put a stop to that. Complete bullshit.
>>488054191Blame imagegen spammers for that. They really need to upgrade their infrastructure.
>>488054191>I used to get around the slower response time but just genning 2 stories in separate windows, but the recently put a stop to that.Wait I did that as well (actually same story in two windows), how did they stop it?Anyway that good thing about these API offerings is that I can set it to generate multiple responses. Though some like Claude don't support it.
>>488054296>>488054351It had been locked in imagegen for a long time, it just started, they just started blocking it for text gen last week. You'll get a concurrent generation error in window 2 if you have something going in window 1.My thought is that it is some prep work for 70B because people genning two stories on that would cost a lot more, but I've got locked generations and no 70B.
>>488054512Prepare for $50 a month.
>>488052452Generally speaking, sometimes. Mostly, there's that "I write primarily for my own purposes" thing coming to bear - romance smut is the shit I do with AI, so that's what my prompts tend towards. But I do have stuff out there. Let me just kinda go backwards through my shit:- To Sell Magic: Urban fantasy about two elves that run an advertising business. They're life-long buddies but no romance is implied at all.- Schlock Shooting: Story about a random midlife crisis guy deciding he's gonna make his own Manos.- Bureaucracy: Infocom inspired text adventure.- Shadowrun - New In Town and Shadowrun - Corp Sec: Basic Shadowrun stories that involve no romance at all, to be used with my Shadowrun deck and module (RIP modules).- Out In The Cold: Story about a Pokemon ranger finding a lost Glaceon and having to take care of it.- The Greatest Show: Private eye ends up in employ of femboy Nyarlathotep as he tours the United States, showing off his magic to slowly drive the world insane.- Seaman's Yarn: Story about stories as a merchant on the good ship Anlatan listens to the crew's storyteller, Krake.- A Very Spiritual Holiday: Westerner tourist runs into a kitsune at a remote temple who's really interested in modern Christmas.- Deep Night, Small Town, Big Problems: You're in a shitty little desert town and Things Go Wrong.- Cannonball Shark: Join a shark girl on a cross-country trip where you need to succeed in crazy challenges. No romance implied at all.- News of the World: Man that dies in mining accident sees history happen at high speed right in front of him.Is that a low ratio? Sure. Are some of those old as hell? Yeah. But I have done it at times. Maybe once I've cleaned out my idea list I could do some more.
>>488054512>they just started blocking it for text gen last weekdamnThat sucks, and would be disincentive for me to move back if they keep it
>>488054589Nobody asked, cabal.

>>488054881true
>>488054614If 70B sucks I might bail. I don't know, money isn't really a big issue for me so I don't really mind staying subbed, but the mere fact they did it pissed me off a lot.Its very difficult to do two different stories in ST too, although that would cost me a fortune which so that is probably a good thing. Half of the problem is I have more ideas then time, so I like to work on multiple things at once.
>>488054881Look at it this way, you can look at the thread and be glad you'll likely never ever be as mentally ill as this fucker.I imagine the only way any of us could even come close to scratching the surface of those depths is to have a severe blow to directly the brain.
>>488054986I have never done more than a single story at a time, so I don't really have an issue with them keeping it.
>>488054881It's not that sad-looking to me. Some threads don't even have mindless bickering.
>>488055374Most threads die out when a schizo leeches on it to this degree. The fact that the thread continues to eke out an existence is actually quite miraculous.
>>488055550It's not miraculous when you realize that it's attached to a company and that there's money involved.
>>488056120How much do you get paid per shitpost?
>>488055374Nothing is sadder than those ai chatbot threads that are just 2 people begging for cards. I honestly feel sad for those people.
>>488056663I do think it's funny that even chat format has a content creation vs content consumption problem, but that seems pretty common in creative mediums for whatever reason.Image reminds me I have to think of a better explanation/description of furry pubic tufts.
>>488056663Why don't they just write their own cards? I share prompts on the club, but the only prompt I've EVER used that wasn't mine is the crystal dragons one from nai's trial
I'm not lyric anon but I've had a couple lines from this repeating in my head and had to flesh it out. >>488056663And what thread is that supposed to be?
>>488057193because plenty of people in this writing-centric hobby can barely write a coherent sentence. not just ESLs, but native english speakers who write like brain trauma patients
>>488056921There's always more people consuming than creating. That's the case in pretty much any creative situation.
>>488058469But why?
>>488058534Not everyone has the same talent/mindset for it. It's the same reason that not everyone is an artist or a writer or a musician. (Setting monetary reasons aside.) Writing a few paragraphs to set up a story to insert into an AI, which may be seen by a couple of anonymous people on the internet is a good entry point, but even that's not for everyone. Some will still prefer to read/play themselves rather than craft a character or story.
>>488056663Honestly the one thing I learned after getting into the chat side to try out the bigger models is aicg is a bigger shithole than this place, and that scares me.

As a result, I've been flicking between it and Cult of the Cube at times while writing smut and lemons.Just now, after a long and kind of ass day, I opened up a story and started to write, thinking the story was on Cult of the Cube. After a long and great scene of writing an evil woman toying with (You) and manipulating (You) into her guinea pig for black magic, I was shocked to open up the Story tab and see that it was Stelenes the entire time. It genuinely felt like Cosmic Cube in terms of quality, keeping everyone in-character, and picking up what I'm putting down. Multiple times it smacked me with prose that had me go "I need to write that down, that's good!" and other times where it had me going "D'awwww!"It writes evil women shockingly well, and I was left smiling like an idiot after the last line, just staring at it for a minute. Turns out, Stelenes really is the best Default Preset — if that specific anon is still here, thanks, you are based.

>>488252325Psst. Hey. Buddy. Take a chill pill next time and ignore him, okay? We've discussed this several times over the last few days...https://www.4chan.org/feedback
Hey anons,Wanted to make sure your not left out of a model that got recommended to me.https://huggingface.co/mradermacher/mini-magnum-12b-v1.1-GGUF/resolve/main/mini-magnum-12b-v1.1.Q4_K_S.ggufHas a longer writing bias than many others (and a more verbose chat bias for those who care about chat).I did have to decrease the repetition penalty a bit to 1.05 for better writing results (Didn't super optimize my settings so may be better values out there). It barely fits in the https://koboldai.org/colabcpp colab with 32768 context. So if it writes good enough for you its basically free 32K without rope upscaling (Base model is Nemo so 128K native). Side note there, colab is not fast enough to reprocess 32K within the cloudflare timeouts, so you want to be careful with World Info if you go that big. Once its all processed and you acknowledged the error from it timing out it should work thanks to the context shifting (Of course if you don't do 32K in one turn by loading a save you won't have that issue).Adventure mode does work in the New Adventure (Instruct) scenario but might be bland on the responses there. Its not trained on text adventure format.
>>488259449Isn't quantized cache + smart context the meta right now?
>>488261036You could but probably less ideal for colab with this model, smart context will still occasionally have those longer processing times and on this model its only useful to go beyond 32K. This one is native 16-bit cache with 32K.

NSFW AI imagegen (both NAI and local) has been stuck in a limbo where it's just good enough to have lots of fun with and and can pull off some really cool images (even if limited to simple scenes), but not good enough to stop creating generic slop the majority of the time. Pain. And this stagnation isn't even due to the tech not being there. We could literally have had Dall-E 3 tier uncensored imagegen by now if it wasn't for the massive legal and reputational disaster that awaits anyone who releases or hosts a model that creates photorealistic CP that is indistinguishable or near-indistinguishable from the real thing.

>>488363665They can't even sustain 8k context of 70B, let alone 128k context one. What you'll get from their 70B finetuned are:>8k context (it's all you need)>quantized to 2 bits (big model compensates for higher quantization)>smut tuned (it's all their textgen is good for)>+5 seconds delays for each generation (imagen and AR take up all the server)

>>488364593The NAI team is pretty against quantization. Which is weird because everyone else has adopted it and is fine with it, and it makes these big models practical.
These network errors are really starting to piss me off.
>>488375751Shouldn't be too surprising. I love Kayra but they're a glorified middle man service, not an AI research team. They were right about chinchilla and have high quality/non-generic datasets, but all that is outdated now. I don't know what their operation looks like, but if I had to guess they don't have the funds, manpower, or experts needed to really compete with the big players nor open source - at least not at a relevant speed. The only thing I truly know is that I am hoping their next releases go really well, time will tell
>>488376719I think their issue is that they need someone with proper leadership skills so they work more efficientlylike not brumaire himself but someone not too different from him
>>488376996If that one interview is anything to go by, Kuru is obviously a smart guy that knows what he's doing. As a bonus, he seems to have a finger on the pulse of the hobby. But he definitely doesn't give CEO/manager/leadership vibes, both for better and worse
>>488376996Get whinefag to lead.
>>488376719>if I had to guess they don't have the funds, manpower, or expertsThe real reason is that their image gen is a money machine for them. They don't need to compete with anyone. No competition, no innovation, no motivation. Period.
>>488377498Again just my opinion, but I feel like this is both yes and no. Imagegen is their golden goose yeah, but mostly thank to Japan and China. I still remember how many tutorials there were on youtube to teach overseas people how to prompt with tags, navigate menus, etc. But as time goes on, other services (local and online) get created or improved. There is even more NSFW models around than before, so it feels like NAI is losing it's only competitive edge. Maybe its the best animegen, I don't know personally? But at the current rate and progress speed, its only a matter of time before those countries have their own, more easier to access imagegen (if they don't already), or better and cheaper models begin propagating throughout those communities (if they aren't already). I can't help but wonder how long animegen will be sustainable, especially with their already limited and divided manpower. Not to mention that furrygen isn't as populer, and the West appears to hate furrygen (due to the anti-AI sentiment that has taken root or because west hate furries in general). If they ever lose animegen for whatever reason, or make it worse (like remove author tags), I personally feel like that will be the beginning of the end for their golden goose. I don't mean to doom, but just my perspective when I try to consider it all
>>488376719>glorified middle man serviceTell me again why there is literally no one else doing a full book fine-tuning on completion model? HoloAI and AID had VC backing, yet Holo failed and AID ended up copying NAI.Are they slow? I'd say yes, but I think there's a lot of reasons for that. All of them are development time anyway. They seem to be taking the Valve approach now, only releasing things when they think it's absolutely in the best state. (They don't even put out change log anymore, only release.)Kayra showed that gpt4o is laughably terrible at storytelling compared to it. I can make money with Kayra's generated stories because it mostly writes like a human and I'm still learning something new — You may object to this if you finish at least 1–2 literatures in the last month, and think otherwise.
>>488378991The problem isn't the longativity of the project, it's how much money the owners (kuru et al) want. Judging from the fact that they became millionaires since the first year from animegen, they can shut the services now right now and still have enough money to yolo to the day they die.
>Kayra is better than GPT4oNot sure if it's a shill or cope anymore.
>>488177873Fuck it, posting regardless. Insufficient storyposts in this thread. I'll throw in some commentary or some shit to compensate of the atrocious quality, I dunno. So yeah, this is how the queen-sized lore (by comparison) of Malrah started out. A funny little prompt around a wizard teaching an elven princess. Point was to play around with Kayra after I took an extremely long hiatus from any kind of gen AI interaction. I did not anticipate this growing into a 150k words epic story. In fact, the first few pages were absolutely riddled with completely random shit happening and me just ignoring it because "Why care? I'm just experimenting anyway."I gave Kayra two sentences of memory, a lorebook entry on Lyra and a three sentence prompt to work with and damn, did it ever show...
>>488381029Have you read any full fiction book recently?
>>488380357True, in theory. But their actions seem to indicate otherwise, they wouldn't be hiring more personnel or acquiring more compute if that was the plan. Occam's razor and all that. Worst case, if they were to hypothetically stop caring, it would make sense for them to go the way of Holo: just coast out their current success for passive income until profit margins get close to turning into a red number. I don't think that will happen though, the team seems to care about "making their waifus real">>488381029If you have any examples I'd love to read one. I don't have access to 4o, or gemini advanced for that matter. If I had to guess it's either the model can do it but won't due to guidelines and safety measures, or just won't do degen stuff but I'm just speculating
>>488375751They changed their minds.Or maybe they were never against it in the first place, and the whole idea that they were just came from a few intellectually dishonest OccultSage posts where he was trying to shit on local models.
>>488381180More evidence of me not giving a fuck at first: Atrocious pacing and an extremely flat first impression of Alara. Here's a fun fact: At first, I wasn't even sure about what happened to Malrah in the first place. So while Lyra was worrying about orc marauders, Alrik would go on about an occupation and Alara would talk about demons. It wasn't until later that I finally added a lorebook entry, fixed some parts and thus settled on an occupation.
Will someone else fucking bump? I can't solo this forever.>>488384120So, at this point I decided to get a bit more serious. Alara was now staying in the tower and I decided to make her a main character. However, I was still certain that this would be a small thing. Just the wizard engaging with the elves a bit, awkward time skip, some combat for writing practice, then send it to the archive to collect dust.

Their methodology is practical as it can get.It seems like the thread is so bored that they start putting words in corporate's mouth. Truly an armchair researcher.Sage's words was aged ago, and that's was when quantization scene was very new. I talked to finetune about it, and of course they'll do it if it's practical, and he know quantization can be handy when it comes to running a large model. (Although, that/this was in 40GB/80? vram single gpu era, with 4–8H100 per request, quan might not actually be needed as Kuru stated 2 months ago.)
>>488389443Alara's background story really started out as pitiful, didn't it.>oh noes orcsAlways hated that crap. Notably, this chapter gave Alara a place in the story, one that would soon be fleshed out into a role. It also gave me more characters that could interact with each other reasonably well.
>>488389443>Will someone else fucking bump?Let the thread die like NAI.
What kinda gas do you need in your rig to run Mistral Large? I demand private cooms.
>>488355853just scrape keys
>>488402412bare minimum is 48gb VRAM, ideally a step or two above that for a decent quality quant
>>488400721No.
>>488400721>Let the thread die>Like NAISo came the cryFrom one who'd lieI dig your accidental poetry. Your meter and rhyme scheme is fun. However, you should format your lines to be stacked, and it's kinda hard to build a whole poem around it.
>>4884024124 3090s at least. 6 is recommended. I run it on 2, but with Q2 quant, it's really prone to using the fanfic vocabulary slop and repeat itself.
>>4884024122 H100sYou should try borrowing them from NovelAI.
>>488410031Man, 6 is approaching a $10,000 rig. Those are some expensive cooms.
>>488411532If I, on the frontlines, can do it, there's no excuse for you.
>>488411532It'll serve you for 10 years at the very minimum, it seems like a good investment.

Someone has probably asked this many times before but what's up with gift keys being unavailable, I dislike subscribing and prefer to pay via gift keys. Are they coming back? I honestly couldn't care less about the actual gift keys themselves, just let me buy a month or a few at a time for myself instead of subscribing.
>>488412929Shut the fuck up and ask on their Discord, you motherfucking retard. They don't browse the thread, they don't give a shit about the thread, now shut the fuck up and quit asking here.
>>488413073No need to be rude. I just want to know if the gift keys are coming back or not.
>>488413146NOBODY HERE FUCKING KNOWS, RETARD.
>>488412929No information at all from the devs. Multiple people have asked, zero information is forthcoming. My guess is that somebody cracked the algorithm they used to generate them or something like that and they had to shut it down immediately? I can't imagine any reason to have to instantly shut it down and not say a thing for weeks apart from "it got massively wrecked".
>>488413259Please do not call me names. Also, I do not think you speak for everybody so let the people who know answer, thank you.
>>488413420Shut the fuck up sperg bot shitfuck cuntlicker. Names, more names, here's some fucki9ng more name.
>>488413146>No need to be rudehence it quite obviously the point, to get you to stop posting
>>488413310Several payment processors cut ties with NovelAI and they're trying to be quiet about it.
>>488413073>>488413259>>488413607Sexy angryanon (Tabloid).>>488413310It probably broke and since all the devs are on AR, they have no mapower to deal with it.

>>488413607There is, in fact, a need to be rude. The fucker has asked multiple times this very thread and last, about a problem NOBODY HERE has the answer to. Now shut the fuck up and ask their shitcord, and quit shitting up the fucking thread, NOBODY HERE KNOWS A FUCK WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.
>>488413796I do not think you understand. The people who know the answer do not check the threads 24/7 like you do so I'll keep asking here until Aini or another dev responds.
>>488413073>>488413146>>488413259>>488413420Endearing. Also I don't have discord.>>488413310Thanks for answering. Yeah I was thinking it was probably something related to what you mentioned otherwise it makes no sense for them to do something like this. I googled this issue and no one on the internet seemed to know anything either, figured if anyone knew something it was going to be you guys.If anyone does talk to the devs please suggest letting people pay for a month or multiple months at a time aside from subscribing. I'm probably not the only autist who won't even use their service if recurring subscription is the only way to pay for it.
>>488414108They don't check the thread. Period. End of discussion. They've abandoned the thread. Quit wasting their time. We don't matter. Never did.>>488414205THEN SEND A FUCKING EMAIL TO CUSTOMER SUPPORT, IDIOT.
Don't tell anon about the unsubscribe button.>>488414272Don't be so sad. We did and we still do matter. I'm sure one of the staff members will respond if I keep asking.
>>488414410We will never matter. Whinefag won. We lost. Nemo wom. Mistral Large won. NovelAI's dead. /aids/ is dead.
>>488414506If only that were true. Unfortunately, NAI still exists and their imagepiggies keep supporting them.
>>488414506Incorrect. NovelAI is alive and /aids/ is alive. I know dead when I see it.
>>488414686Not for long, they're slowly going bankrupt, degrading their service. Imagegen got neutered a few days ago, they're quantitizing Kayra because they can't make room for their new Llama finetune, you can't gen concurrently anymore, and they remove artist tags.
It's time to move on from NovelAI. Nemo saved this hobby. Forgive Nick. Return to Larion.
Mistral Large is so fucking good...
>>488415824whatcha doin with it?
>>488415824True
>>488414205My assumption on gift keys was that it was a step toward having one overall payment system where you could pay for both NAI and AeR with one subscription (possibly with slightly lower rates for having both), and that they assumed they'd have things ready sooner after disabling it.If someone had managed to crack the code for making keys, I would have assumed it would be a bigger thing and that we would have heard about it from, if nothing else, someone boasting about it.But still, this is the sort of thing where there should be some communication with your customers/communities.
>>488417451My bet? They're preparing to discontinue NovelAI.
>>488225064Nooooooo! Orville was so close to getting the Vussy! It's strange that he would react in such a way over a monster that tried to kill him and her. Even though his disgust towards the carcass of the beast is justified, his little tantrum was a bit too much for a guard who has surely killed plenty of beasts and bandit scum.I hope you didn't sabotage Orville getting the Vussy by making him a little bitch.
>>488420989He did.
pftf?
>>488422346With my luck, the goat demon would meet someone, start spending more time with her and less with me, get engaged and married to her while giving me a pity wedding invite, and then have kids that took up the rest of the time he used to spend with me. We'd drift apart and I'd be right back where I started, minus the cost of the materials I used in the summoning ritual.
>>488423598That is why you've got to make him your wife beforehand.
>>488423598Just use Nemo. It's the perfect replacement for human contact.
>>488423598That's why you catch the eye of one of said kids. Such a cambion imp would be fine, too.
>>488421446Unfortunately I think that might be the case. He set the confrontational tone by writing the entire paragraph after Orville approached VG and asked if she was ok - making him fearful and disgusted instead of grateful about having his life saved.
>>488425208If he used Nemo he wouldn't have had to artificially divert the plot.
>>488420989>It's strange that he would react in such a way over a monster that tried to kill him and her.It caught me by surprise too, honestly. I set up the scene with the flashfire being poured down its throat, but most of the stuff after was just the AI. I decided to go with it though since it kinda fit Orville's goody-goody tendencies. It also gets resolved almost right away next chapter, despite me setting VG up as being worried that Orville hates her now. Like Kayra decided the angsty subplot was pointless and just had Orville break the tension with a nice little talk.>>488421446>>488425208Generally I focus on writing for VG only. Here I put some words in Orville's mouth earlier because I thought the idea of him repeating all the NPC drivel right after she just heard it was funny. The rest of his action/dialogue is Kayra, including the random encounter that knocked him out.>>488425462>artificially divert the plotbruh there is hardly any plot in this to begin with. I'm writing them with minimal editing and no planning beyond "yeah 216 chapters of this should be manageable" kekThe black witch way back in ch3 was made up by Kayra, the cave encounter was made by Kayra, Orville deciding to take her on a spider hunt was suggested by Kayra, mostly I'm just reacting to the situations presented.
>>488428436Quit being a shill for NovelAI and make the switch.
>>488428436(me)And here's NAI just shutting it down 3 paragraphs into the next chapter. It seems like he was more upset that "Estelle" was put in a dangerous situation and angry with himself.Haven't decided whether to keep this ch yet which is why I didn't storypost it, because his logic reads kind of goofy to me.
>>488422346Needs to be a female demon.
>>488399745Alara's lesson and another example about me poorly executed time skips. Or bad pacing. Or both, just take your pick. Either way, it did get me thinking about her role in the story and in Lyra's life. And especially regarding the latter, Kayra would decide to contribute a lot over the time.
Fairy weedmother, bring me the fattest doobs tonight...And let my snackage be neverending...And may the tv be full of the funniest shit I've ever seen...
alright I pulled the plug on this story it went too far.
