It's not like they're completely opposed - the ranni quest has a bit where you're actually outright forced to talk to ranni, blaidd, seluvis, and iji and can't leave. There should've been a cutscene where you meet them and get all their vibes. It took me a while to figure out what the fuck a hornsent was because the one in the miquella gang was outright called 'hornsent'. And obviously after that make the quests actually good instead of... "Yeah you have to skip this bit and find this guy and ask this guy and also don't kill any of the pests". The closest the miquella quest got to actually enthralling me was the fact that hornsent would join you to fight messmer and had lots of dialogue for it. That was cool, he had a very clear idea of what he wanted. Vs leda and moore and shit. I do like that you can thin out the herd of the gank fight early and the idea of it being influenced by your quest is actually cool, even if the execution is bad.

Had a lot of fun doing seamless coop. Not only was the latency far more bearable when i play with europoors, having access to full healing and fewer OL phantoms was great. I do feel bad for some of the hosts who are clearly clueless, but it isnt as if im using stuff outside of limgrave, so its a fair fight. I like being required to kill all the phantoms, being able to call in reinforcement, and having your dropped runes where you invaded. Im still on the fence about torrent, but i found that hilariously fighting on foot against torrent is a lot easier since you have more control. After beating the DLC, I can say that I didn't have as much fun as I did with the base game. Open world was less rewarding and open world enemies felt trivial and uninspired. The lore involving Marika/Hornsent/Messmer was very interesting, but felt underutilized, and the other half involving Miquella was barf. Bosses felt like there was too much memorization and trial and error since they're very difficult to read/react to. I get that most people here will really like it, especially the people who like actual difficult and not the illusion of it (ie.: the past FROM titles), want opponents who actually have intelligent lore accurate fighting styles, or just want to twist the game intro pretzels with crazy builds (like the 80 INT guy who two shot Radahn with Carian Sovereignty), but it's not my type of game. It kind of reminds me of playing an instrument, just that there's a loud asshole heckling you the whole time (that would be the nauseating camera and visual clutter that fills your screen and tanks your FPS in my simile). Sekiro tear and light greatswords were really good/stylish though (nothing better than using wing stance to stylishly jump over attacks) and I'd like to see more of this sort of stuff in later titles.

Anyone tried fighting PCRadahn with the sekiro tear yet? I'm not sure if it's possible. I've been doing a sekiro tear playtrough and it was fine for the whole thing, but phase 2 PCR has those pillars of light that keep stagering you even if you get the deflects correct, and they make it impossible to guard counter because you just get staggered out of the animation. I don't like spending points on END for anything aside from carry weight since the stamina gains are just so damn small. It's worth noting though that I do pump END on shield builds (and my build with the Star-Lined Sword because holy fuck that thing is a gas guzzler) for stamina, typically to 34, but that's just so I can block the world. I definitely don't need more MND or any of the damage stats though. You could argue I could push DEX to 80 for the AR cap, but since it's blood infusion the AR gains are small, even if it is the primary stat. Once it stops double dipping into cast speed DEX just ain't worth it for this build anymore.
