i put this off for so long and then when i finally decided to do it i found out that enderio doesn't like getting single ticks of redstone to activate the extraction on its conduits

I'll probably check it out at some point anyway. The base game looks nice (which can't be said of vanilla minecraft), and the modding community around it has put out some cool looking stuff, lack of meidos notwithstanding.

I've never made a single lawnbase in my life. I've spent IRL days building extensions onto my factories before housing new machinery inside them. I simply refuse to use wool as anything other than carpet material. I don't care that, paired alongside some wood and cobble, it can make for convincing fachwerk that's much cheaper and more easily farmable than white concrete. I will use white concrete anyway because wool walls would trigger the absolute fuck out of me.

eh, I'm not crazy about it. I would have just made a standard roof and had some comfy attic rooms in there. If you want a VIP area, simply make another wing protruding from the main building. Some plush seating, a big fireplace (it looks cold there) and maybe a big window looking out over the snowy tundra.

Personally I started Gravitas 2, but then decided doing TFC and greg for the first time each at the same time was a poor idea, then spotted moni and just went from there, no real reason to go for it over nomi, I have added create for trains and elevators though. Have you ever stopped to consider how insane modded minecraft is compared to other modded games? Minecraft is basically about killing a dragon and the road getting there but modders have introduced actual science to the game with all the tedious steps getting there included. I mean imagine if somebody took a game like Skyrim and changed the objective from killing dragons into advancing Tamriel to the age of industry and then atomic age? That's basically what modders have done with Minecraft and I find it nuts.

It feels really nice to be able to go back to mid game stuff like platline and make a crazy fast version in gtnh, but late game recipes feel like they're designed to discourage you from playing. The scaling allows you to make insane setups that produce millions of items per hour, but at the same time all the late game recipes take forever and don't have any practical ways to be sped up.

This recipe for example requires 2 UEV energy hatches (meaning you can't speed it up until the next tier) on an assembling line and unlocks a powerful multi that lets you "skip" some of the earlier chemical lines (like making plastics) but since it's so expensive you're only ever really going to be building 1 or 2 of them at this tier. Despite not needing to mass produce them, the recipe still takes 20 minutes because.... ??? Like why?

That recipe is really tame compared to the actual bad stuff.
You need 2112 hypogen coils for a t2 DPTF and each coil takes 9 ingots. The base recipe time is 75s (here I have it overclocked to 37.5) and it produces 10 ingots. That adds up to 19 hours of leaving this thing on to make the coils.
During this time the dptf is consuming 3.2 billion eu/t, and the t3 coils are even worse. With a single dptf it takes a minimum of 9 days, and in order to make them you need a t2 dptf.
You also can't recycle the coils so they become immediately useless after you get the next tier.

I haven't even done the math on Shirabon / UMV components because they look nightmarish

I redid my barn, because the last one was terrible.
This one has a proper interior with a basement for doing growthcraft. GC of course has a lot of overlap with heat and climate, but GC has regeneration mead, and I think the overall brewing process is more fun in GC, so I guess I'll just use both.

Wrong. Minecraft is sandbox game where I basically do whatever I want and the only catch is that I have to mine and craft them. Maybe I have to travel 1000 miles for it, dive into the oceans, or kill bosses. If I don't care about stuff and materials from the End, there is no reason to kill the dragon. Hell, I haven't even beaten the dragon in vanilla as I've been screwing around building temples and a small village.

Modded just extends that vision for the player.

that's definitely how it used to work back with 1.5.2/1.6.4 LMM. LMMX solved that issue by prepackaging all the different addons into one mod, but now LMMX is fucking broken, so a lot of good that did.
I'll try them both as resource packs and as mods, and if they don't work, I'll add them manually.

Neverwinter Nights, as I mentioned before. I don't know if it has more mods or not, but people have stripped the game down to it's core and rebuilt it from the ground up. It's effectively used as a tabletop RPG platform with custom campaigns built in it. Custom assets, maps and overhauls for the game are used to achieve those ends. There is one insanely large mod that adds something insane like one thousand classes and one hundred races to the game. If the game wasn't ancient I'd give it a try just for the roleplay. Some of the things people have done with that game are insane. I guess it would be comparable to a custom modpack and adventure map built around it?

Yeah you're right, the wiki kinda misled me and I thought I could make power with lava that way.
I thought I'd use a magma crucible to make lava, and use the lava to heat steam and make power with a turbine.
there were some problems

I found what was advertised as "a DnD-like roleplay server" that was a modification of Prom2 with origins and a bunch of really appealing stuff for roleplay and building. I thought it would be a lot of fun, but the server owner is a soulsfag who insisted on extreme difficulty. They made a new modpack on their own and it was ten times worse than before. You're just supposed to be anally raped by randomly spawning bosses at night that can break blocks and instantly delete you. All progression, even making iron fucking tools, was exp gated. You needed to be enchantment level lv25+ to make an iron pick axe...
