I think rather than JUST going "sora must believe in himself" he should believe in himself a little too much and start going master of destiny like xehanort but in a different way. What if Sora's arc is going to be about becoming a leader (maybe literally a king?) Sort of like Squall who became leader of Balamb Garden in his game and was Sora's mentor. Sora is visually based on Mickey who is a king too. And look how much crown and throne and keys to the kingdom of heaven symbolism and imagery is related to Sora. And Yozora is a commander and in a game called True King and has something to do with Sora and Riku. Incidentally Nomura's favourite Disney movie is Lion King

Combining the two game titles representative of two sides of existence, two realities, creates something like "The True King of Kingdom Hearts". And MoM looks at Quadratum's moon with his hands forming a heart over it, possibly hinting at him wanting to do something like bringing Kingdom Hearts into Quadratum or Kingdom Hearts being linked to Quadratum somehow.

It could end up with Sora as the 'Falsus Rex' as a call back to him not being the true keyblade wielder but being chosen by Kingdom Hearts over the 'Verum Rex' (Yozora? Master of Masters?) by the end of the Lost Masters saga.

No, Days is part of the Days/BBS/Coded trifecta where the story is building to KHIII being all about Sora saving those who have been lost. Days isn't just the II-prequel that shows Roxas' backstory, it's actually about how Roxas and Xion are two of the characters that have "hurt" that Sora must mend.

Days: Roxas and Xion are suffering
BBS: Ventus, Terra and Aqua are suffering
Coded: The suffering of all five is within Sora somehow, so he must put an end to their suffering

And this leads into DDD being about Sora & Riku taking the Mark of Mastery Exam so that they can become Keyblade Masters, so that Sora can have the power of waking to free those characters from their suffering.
