Diablo is an Action RPG. Elder Scrolls are Action RPGS. Most good RPG's are in fact, Action RPGS. And this triggers table top elitists who feel no player skill should be part of the equation. Ocarina of Time did the seed thing well. 50 would maybe be annoying. But what made it fun was you'd get a seed, and then you got to choose the order you unlocked the plant. When you unlock a plant you sometimes get a reward or get teleported through an annoying area faster. That was a fun mechanic imo. But it wasn't super punishing to find a seed. You'd get them doing the major quests basically.

Steam cut, higher self-employment taxes, no benefits, no retirement, AND to top it all off: Your sales diminish over time, so even if you hit this "mediocrity lottery" you'll have to do it all over again in a couple years.

Game Idea:
Title: STACKWARS
Smut type of content: F/F, M/F, M/M, Rape, slavery, mind breaking, corruption, group sex, torture(?), hypnosis(?), bondage(?), traps(?), monsters, monstergirls, more(?).
Gameplay: I'd imagine it would be an EratohoK-like, Rance-like gameplay wise, at least strategy turn based combat, a bit of economy management and some random events sprinkled here and there to spice things up.

3 factions:
Goblin Kingdom - Affinity: Range/Traps - Ruler(Player): Orc/Troll
Imp Kingdom - Affinity: Magic/Curses - Ruler(P): Satyr/Succubus
Kobold Kingdom - Affinity: Melee/Stealth - Ruler(P): Drake/Naga

Win condition:
Progress on the map by capturing settlements, improve your headquarters and upgrade your combat units.
Capture the enemy boss and imprison them for X turns in your headquarters. Amount of turns will be determined based on the requirements needed to mind break the captured boss.
Capture boss => transport to headquarters => mind break X turns => win
However, the enemies CAN save their boss by defeating the unit that captured them, the boss can also manage to escape of their own through events (based on attributes or certain stat check).

Loss condition:
You get captured and are unable to escape or be freed by one of your combat unit after X amount of turns.

Smut implementation:
Combat units can use lewd abilities to neutralize enemy units, traps, spells, ambushes.
(Can also win through conventional means ofc.)

Boss mind breaking would naturally come with a panel of lewd actions required to surrender to you. Bondage, Tentacle pit, Humiliation, etc.
I guess this would depend on the race attributes, the headquarters upgrades and what's most effective against targeted boss.

Player getting captured would be similar but you lose if you can't free yourself somehow.

Ideally it'd be nice if the player could either play either sex but that'd require quite a bit of technical skill to implement everything already.


Economy:
Gold coins (combat+passive income from settlement), slaves (flat gain) from captured settlements.
Upgrade points X amount per X turns based on X settlement controlled.
Gold: upgrade combat units gears(resilience/damage)
Slaves: upgrade headquarters
Upgrade points: Unlock new skills/ability for your boss and your combat unit. (Skill/tech tree?)

Game start:
Not sure if it should be 1v1v1 or just 1v1.
Either way, each faction would start with 1 headquarter and 1 settlement (or else based on attribute/perk) at opposite corners of the map. Neutral settlements would be connected by roads, and I guess they could procure different stat bonus, resources, tech upgrades. Neutral settlement would start at a low level but increase in difficulty as the game progress.

Also just my opinion but if someone ever makes it happen and it's visual: Goblins=green, Imps=purple, Kobold=orange

What OS do you dev on? For me, it's MacOS. I used to use Linux, but being able to use creative software like Logic Pro is a huge benefit. Also, I safe multiple hours per day by not having to fix some tinkertranny OS that breaks any time I do a system update (looking at you, Arch)

Your game is very atmospheric already, but the current HUD is way too busy and distracting with all the individual elements, so it would make sense to move the majority of it to the main entity (the vehicle). In the form of either diegetic or floating UI like you already have with the inventory and sleep/repair. It would further the importance of the vehicle as your lifeline of survival.
And then move the remaining stuff that needs to always be on, at the bottom of the screen or the far corners of the top, since you want to keep the important sections as unobscured as possible.

So if I want to make a dungeon crawler like Etrian Odyssey, what do I download/learn? This video is from an older version of RPG Maker, do I get this or one of the newer versions (if so, which one)? Or is RPG Maker really just garbage and I have to download/learn a "real" engine? I'm not a programmer, I'm an artist and I'd draw all the character portraits and monster designs myself. In general, I'd want a lot of ability to manipulate athletics like menus and such. From what I understand, RPG Maker has a billion plugins and that's what people use to make the games more distinct and not look/play like stock garbage.

Like for example I think those games could be improved with a better turn system, such as moving 1-3 characters per turn instead of the whole army. That already makes it much more strategic and difficult. I also think the bosses are traditionally unfun; they're just stat checks and there's no way to outskill them 1shotting your characters. I think it would be kino to play as Caesar and go through all his battles knowing the inevitable end. Crossing the Rubicon, "...The die is cast." Beating Pompey finally, chasing him all the way to Egypt, but to your shock the Egyptians just killed him for you and think you'll be happy, but both Caesar and the player are like "You bastards! How dare you kill him!"
The final battle is in the senate house but you have no units, it's just Caesar and it's an unwinnable fight. Dramatic cutscene when you lose. Fade to black, credits roll.

One of the playtesters gave me the idea of using the copy ghost boss fight again for the final challenge_2 level to make it more challenging so iv been rebalacing it to support it. Since he copies your movements the player needed 3x3 tiles everywhere to let the player roll around in a circle sometimes to cause the copy ghost to roll aorund in a circle so they can wait for certain traps or obstacles to move by and time their movement forward.
