The game is basically broken at this point. If you have two PCT in your party you will skip entire phases in pre-DT content. Many of the primals die before either of the phase-related songs reach the chorus. Go and queue for Ravana and watch how absolutely pitiful it has become. I know that this isn't a high priority, but this problem has gotten so bad over the years that I'm sure it will turn off new players in a major way.
