I would have a lot more respect for Penders if the story was as simple as "Archie couldn't prove he signed a contract, he got ownership his stuff, and now he's working with others to make a cool new thing". I mean, SEGA would probably still have rebooted the series to make sure he didn't have any leverage over them, and that would sting, but it would sting a lot less especially if he bothered to let go of his ego and workshop his unrefined ideas to make something actually good featuring all those characters.But the problem is, Penders is a controlling weirdo who most people hate working with, who constantly gets in petty fights and makes inappropriate comments ranging from "unprofessional" to "really racist" to "should be on a government watchlist". The Sonic Chronicles stuff was obviously inspired by his work, but it's all legally-distinct!
