Fabled and Jurrac were always shit decks but they have mega archetypes to fall back on so they're lucky. These aren't archetypes you can fix in four cards, Ice Barrier only managed because it actually had multiple waves of modern support.I hope they pick something like Worms or Dragunity next. Master Duel has it because the format caters to the OCG players more than the TCG ones.Most TCG players hate Maxx C because it punishes Special Summoning too much when Special Summon is basically ingrained into the game. This would be fine with there were plenty of alternatives to Special Summoning strategies to punish Maxx C or if you could reasonably pass without dying but that just isn't in the game.So you end up with a handtrap that forces the opponent to either give you overwhelming card advantage or they pass turn with a lackluster board and die. This same handtrap is useful against basically every deck in the game and there is literally no reason to not just shotgun it whenever possible.There's no real skill involved, you simply see the Maxx C in hand, use it immediately and see if it resolves. If yes, your opponent is fucked. If no, you've just made your opponent use up an interaction.
