Assuming my buddy makes it to locals tomorrow, I was going to let him borrow my Diabellstar stuff for Rescue-ACE, which means I have 6 more slots to experiment with. Ideally I would toss in a bit more engine or even a very small amount of more Noids, but I've also been tempted by the Striker engine (Already running Thrust and a lot of spells, gives me more utility as well as Eagle Booster to protect my Tierra/Evil/Sequence to resolve).Also need to fix the ED and Side lol. If I had to start over, I'd probably start with a blank slate with zero cards banned. If we get to AMC 20, I'll consider starting to unban stuff in waves, first all the semi-limited, then the limited, and finally waves of random selected banned TCG cards in batches of 20 until the only banned cards are the ones /dng/ picked out. Or that's the idea anyway, might change it. IDK, I'll bring up the idea in the ban messages of AMC 17 or 18 (January 26th at the soonest) and see how the players feel. I think the biggest problem with Konami is them trying to have their cake and eat it too.We already know they design products for casuals and for competitive players, but time and time again its them trying to overlap both that is the problem.Something like Retro Pack is for casuals, it did well because it wasn't trying to be a shilled competitive set.Something like Rarity Collection is for competitive, it does well because it wasn't trying to shove in 50 random anime cards to try and get stray purchases.But the issue comes from stuff like Dueling Mirrors, which is absolutely covered in animeshit to appeal to casuals to get them to buy it and has shorted difficult-to-pull competitive staples to try and get competitive players to buy it.Only problem is it ends up appealing to nobody because of set structure and general goals. If you have 50 QCSRs which are mostly nostalgiabait animeshit, it makes getting said nostalgiabait difficult to pull. Some DM fan isn't going to like buying a tin and getting Parallel eXceed, Bahamut Shark and Coach King Giantrainer. The Prismatic Tokens appeal to the casuals because it has Yugi and Kaiba on it and are neat collector pieces. On the other hand, competitive players want the competitive cards, but they are shoved into the HUNDRED slots for Prismatic Secrets, filled mostly with shit you don't want. You have Tokens taking up said slots and its overall a bad time to pull from a Tin. Not to mention getting bulk Commons you were never going to want is pointless to competitive players but loved by casuals.They really needed to pick a lane. Honestly they should just do what Pokemon does and just mark products as being for intended skill levels/audiences. Trying to appease both groups just results in a shit product. If you want nostalgiabaiting, make a set to do that. Don't try to sneak in some shilled engine to generate competitive pulls. There are no packs that contain every card for a deck core and staple cards. Even if there were, pull rates and the rarity distribution systen would make it cost many times more than buying singles outright.Your local gamestore is great for buying everything you need. Tcgplayer is a cheaper option but shipping can take you upwards of 2 months to get everything delivered.If you want to jump in right away your best bet is three copies of the traptrix structure deck. Your local gamestore might have them in stock. Three copies of the fire king structure deck also work if they have those instead, but you'll want to talk with your lgs about ordering either the tri-brigade or dogmatika engine to flesh it out even more if you go this route. Just watch some youtube videos for 3x traptrix structure deck for information on how to construct it and play it.

How do you guys feel about Elf. Every twenty or so games where I lose coin flip in MD Elf will just show up in the middle of the opponents wombo combo. Sometimes it helps extend other times it actually ends up making the board easier for me to break.
