I felt like the Director mentioning TTRPGs was a nice opportunity to relieve the grand total of 2 anons that care with the news that I am not in fact dead, and still (albeit very slowly, don't have much free time nowadays) working on the Dark Heresy conversion. The core mechanics are mostly done now, so I'm currently primarily focused on the Backgrounds. Here's a preview of the Dieci and The Middle, with some relevant rules thrown in. The exact numbers here are likely not final, Dieci advances in particular are headache-inducing to balance by theorycrafting, but I'm more or less confident in the design direction itself. It's not stated here anywhere, but the armour/resistances system works by multiplying the base AP by a coefficient corresponding to each of the 3 main damage types, so higher values are better. It's a bit clunky, but should be fine with a premade values table. On that note, the latter half of the Middle Tattoos description is mostly here to discourage stacking the UnnT with Armour. Anyways, hopefully I'll get this mess into a playable state by the new year's eve, but no promises here.

So now Ring students need to train their art skills primarily, because all their “on attack” and “on hit” effects are tied to their Scrimshaw roll, only the attack roll itself is tied to combat skill and (presumably) they would never use a weapon they aren’t proficient in, so they shouldn’t need too many points in combat skills Except for defensive skills. Ring Maestros and Dolcents are relentless bastards. It took Vergilius using Shin to break a Dolcent’s sternum and throw him into the depths of the corridor to stop him from perusing.
