I've been running around doing the sightseeing errands, basically just collecting sketches for visiting certain places like the patriotic art gallery or listening to the local storyteller grandpa. The bad was that you didn't actually get to see the gallery directly nor could you listen to the stories of 'oldtimey Warsaw'. Given the games' troubled development waving every red flag in the book like being in dev hell for 10 years, senior staff leaving, being rebooted twice & being an ex-live service title, it's difficult to see Veilguard delivering an experience that will impress the fans after such a long wait. Also it should be considered that this version of the game started development during Covid lockdown, that means that the team had even less time to take a full proper swing at it's development. Expecting them to pull more "Bioware magic" out of their ass seems too optimistic given the circumstances.So far the biggest sign of the scope of Veilguard being disappointing is the world state import only accounting for 3 past decisions. Needed at minimum a few more like who became the Divine & who drank from the well of sorrows to properly flesh it out to a more satisfactory amount. As for what they have shown off so far? The companions seem lame (giving off andromeda vibes), the combat change to a real time action with cool down abilities would be an easier sell if you could switch to your companions on the fly (going from the mage move set to rogue, then warrior like a jank style switcher version of Dante), & the dialogue wheel being back is expected even though it sucks.It will sell fine, the tumblr audience is still there for this so I'm guessing about 4 mill during the first year of release. And all this so your party members can tell you how much they like masturbating after committing serial murder and shit.
