i have seen people say the Heathcliff distortion wasn't explored that well but i truly believe it's still one of the best scenes in the game currently, maybe it's because i didn't have to wait between parts 2 and 3 but i never felt like they would delve deeper into the mechanics of it, they never did so previously and even when we saw EGO manifestations or Distortions we just went along with it, i think for the Sinners due to corroding canonically everyday they just see it as that, Heathcliff probably didn't even notice he was talking to Carmen and she didn't even introduce herself this particular timeidk, i think people are being way too critical of that moment in retrospect
