I don't know who's responsible for it, whether it's Flynn himself or influence from Sega of America but this new direction for Amy reeks of desperation. Without the crush, she's aimless. It's like no one knows what to do with her. Frontiers tried bringing up the fortune cards but at this point she shouldn't still need them to decide to do something as simple as talking to the koko for help. In the IDW camping arc, it made sense. She was delivering guidance to someone else. But now it's getting sad. Why is she using them to fight when she already has the giant mallet? What's the point if they're replacing the hammer in moves she could already do? If they're going to lean into mysticism for her, please do. It was buried for far too long. But hammering this one note over and over is just repeating the same issue that made her crush annoying in the first place.I miss her high-spirited and open hearted nature. But I'll never forget how it felt to discover such an unusual thing in a familiar place at a time of night I seldom saw and in such unique circumstances. My last visit to that arcade was roughly a decade go, playing games like air hockey and skee ball with my gf to kill some time. The Fighters cabinet of course wasn't there at that point, alas. Who knows where it ended up.My favorite arcade cabinet is Sega's The Ocean Hunter, which I can't find anywhere anymore. I guess most of these things are fairly uncommon at this point.
