There was a CTD wall around Riverwood, where if I approached the city from any angle the game would instantly CTD. Uninstalled one of the AI mods and it fixed it. If you just want a bunch of followers with no AI, would recommend TKAL Ultimate Renewal from ATF along with TKAA wild child. Which adds a total of 70+ lolis as followers.

Okay, 1.5XX user here, what mods are absolutely fundamental to your player experience that upgrading to the latest version of skyrim fucks with?I learned how to play with keywords, and then i realised that my clothing/armour mods were a warrenous mess, and thought I should probably learn to convert to Bhunp, and combine all the armour and clothing mods just so I can predict what the fuck will and will now work. You all will know how painful the "Unassigned" catagory in bodyslide can be. But once I've done all that and fucked with keywords, textures and .nif files, it becomes a bit intolerable to have a janky modlist (If a mod requires Deviant Devices, it's going to be more fun for you designing the same concept without that dependency in a mod than it is having your playthrough ruined by DD). So depending on whether 1.5 still has something to offer, maybe I'll upgrade.
