>>503044023I blame you
second for cross alignment cooperation.
>>503044657Parties are boring if everyone has the same alignement.
>>503044363Is necromancy a good school?
>>503044775xzar is a necromancer, so its about as useful as xzar is.
>>503044775I suck at that game so I don't know what's 'good' but I like it
>>503044775It's pretty robust.>Summons>Debuffs>Crowd Control
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7R-UaCX9YoI
>PoE>NWN>BG>DEWhat do I play now
>>503045649You could try Encased or ATOM RPG, there both pretty neat.I wish more games had a weapon upgrade system like Encased.
>>503045192Nice
>>503046759>ATOM RPGCouldn't stand the type of 'humor' that seemed to permeate the game. Had the same issue with Tunguska: The Visitation.
>>503047207I instantly dropped Tunguska once the gameplay actually start, the combat really sucks.
>>503045649Since you've been playing some D&D partyshit as well as Disco I'd say it's time you play Planescape Torment and combine both extremes
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3314710/RAVENSBURG/The only upcoming gothic horror RPG is a fucking animesque dating sim.Fuck it, I'll take it. We need more gothic fantasy cRPGs.
>>503048640>Lovecraftianstopped reading there
>>503048708Fuck you, I like Lovecraft.
>>503048640>Developer: Lilian Duleroux>referred to as "he" on the itch io pagei don't like the looks of this
How are the Wrath DLCs? Saw that Gold Dragon got updated recently and that everything is on sale.
>>503048869The only lovecraftian games out therre are Cultism Sim and Book of Hours. The rest are just midwits thinking that lovecraftian means "tentacles lmao"
>>503049381The Last Sarkorian and Dance of Masks are pretty great. The rest are take it or leave it.
>>503048640>Set female MCNot playing nor buying.
>>503049748Eh, Alone in the Dark series is pretty fucking lovecraftian. But yeah, there aren't many good lovecraftian games and this upsets me.
>>503049748>The rest are just midwits thinking that lovecraftian means "tentacles lmao"People who think 'lovecraftian' means 'Invincible villains' aren't any better. Cthuluh got lobotomized by boat and the FBI took out the fishmen.
>>503049904>But yeah, there aren't many good lovecraftian games and this upsets me.I'll never forget that one turn based game that just...end at the midway point. No climax, no plot resolution, no nothing.
>>503049381>Inevitable ExcessLevel 20 content, but it sucks ass on all accounts. Inane puzzles, trash fights, dumb bosses, the works. Only worth to cheat on unfair for the main campaign rewards, which are good.>Through the AshesLow level content, like <6 level. Focuses on non-mythic characters, but isn't really bad, just weird at best and frustrating at worse. Offers a new metamagic rod for completing.>Treasure of the Midnight IslesDungeon crawl-y but definitely worth. Has a number of bis items in the main campaign and the standalone is pretty fun. Adds a fuck load of money and experience in act 3>Last Sarkorians Ulbrig and Shifter. Worth for sure.>Lord of NothingNarrative conclusion of Through the Ashes. Offers a new demon lord fight in act 5 which, I thought, was fun. >Dance of MasksHang out with your companions back in Kenabres and fight through a truly fucked up arena for some really nice gear. you can kiss camellia more. worth beyond measure.
>>503050141>>Dance of MasksThe fact that it's act 5 content is why is till haven't played it. I just can't be arsed finishing act 4 again
>>503045649Wasteland 3, I think it would be a good contrast to DE
>>503050041Stygian? Yeah, that game was a clusterfuck. Not only it was a total lovecraftian theme park, they ran out of budget halfway through development.
>>503050270Honestly even if it was completed, the fact it try so hard to sell you a bunch of bootlegger as an actual scary threat was pathetic.
>>503050270>Not only it was a total lovecraftian theme park,What do you mean by that?
>>503050576They didn't try to write a unique story with a lovecraftian feel, they essentially shoved every character for every Lovecraft short story into the game and made a story out of it.Something akin to Penny Dreadful, only less self-aware.
>>503050802Oh yeah, I agree then. The amount of name-dropping quickly get tiring. Also the railroading was insane.
>>503045192Is bnha any good? I like the character designs (musvle mommies) and general style.
>>503049748Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones, is pretty Lovecraftian. World of Horror and Skald too.Haven't played 'The Sinking City' yet but I'm afraid it leans too heavily in to the 'lol Tentacles, lmao' side of things.>>503049943>People who think 'lovecraftian' means 'Invincible villains' aren't any better.True.But I'd argue that Cthuluh's 'defeat' in that story was more to do with his cult being disrupted then the boat phasing through his head.>>503050270>it was a total lovecraftian theme parkI actually liked that about Stygian. Could it have been done better? Sure. But it still managed to feel like a world that was a continuation of the one that HP's stories took place in.It definitely could have used some more polish and oversight tho.
Anything out there that can scratch my ATOM RPG itch?I just got done playing a modded campaign of Jagged Alliance 3 and I'm looking for some more modern era CRPGS
>>503054265There is not much. Alpha Protocol is kinda old, but quite unique and it has plenty of meaningful choices.Less an rpg, but similar to JA and xcom (kinda) is Phantom Doctrine. It was very rough after release, but thats a few years ago, so maybe its playable. Its a cold war era spionage thriller (turn based tactics game). If you count cyberpunk as "modern era", then maybe Shadowrun Hongkong (the best of the bunch) is worth a look too?
>>503054265As in "made by Russians"? Fallout 2 Nevada/Sonora
>>503055208Good recommendations. I've played all of them, I might take a look at Phantom Doctrine again, it eventually got a dlc pack didn't it? I'll have to give the Shadowrun series a look soon to see if they improved. I felt a bit burned after kickstartering the first one and it being nothing like the Sega version.>>503055280Post-apocalyptic/Nuke scare would be a plus but I'm mainly looking for shooty-shooty combat instead of swords and boards unless its roman style like Decadence.
>>503055486Have you played Rogue Trader yet? Its not "modern", but certainly has shooty combat. Fallout Tactics maybe, as you certainly have played F1 and F2?
>>503055486>Post-apocalyptic/Nuke scare would be a plus but I'm mainly looking for shooty-shooty combatThen Fallout 1,2, Nevada/Sonora are exactly that. Rogue Trader kinda. It's not post-apoc but has the tb shooty combat. For roman style see Expeditions: Rome (not post apoc)
>>503055486>Post-apocalyptic/Nuke scare would be a plus but I'm mainly looking for shooty-shooty combatEh. Broken Roads? I hear it's not good though
>>503056401>>503056557>>503056670Thanks guys, that's a good list to start with
>>503056670I played the demo of broken roads. Its meh at best.It looks good, but it feels totally sterile in the way you can interact with things on the maps.I guess if you are from Australia, it might be a little bit more interesting.
>>503057223I played it for a couple of hours. The character creation seems interesting and the "alignment" system too. But I didn't get a single combat in those 2 hours and the dialogue wasn't interesting enough to grab me
I just started pathfinder WOTR. I'm bad at these kind of games, I solely want to finish it to romance the succubus. What tips do you have for a Glaive Mutation warrior, feats etc....
>>503058326Just play on normal or below.
>>503058837I am, I toned down a few things like permadeath and the like. But as often as people suggest mutation warrior, I don't really see many builds. I don't want to make it some VN game and put it on story, so are there any tips for my class? I have power attack, glaive focus and cleave, cleaving finish. I finished the prologue but I am worried things are going to get much more difficult.
kyumers
>>503059649Warrior (any subclass really) is not that hard to play or build. On normal with a few tweaks there are only a couple of really hard fights as long as the rest of the party is reasonably built. Its a party game after all. For your Glaive warrior, use the weapon specialization talents, the cleave stuff and increase strength.
>>503060573Do you have any armor type recommendations? I am used to games where warriors just wear the heaviest armor, but I have seen people that suggest the opposite.
>>503057223>>503057371The art style of that game is so repulsively globohomo. lolI feel like I'm going to see a laineyball unironically pop up in the game.
