It’s not entirely theoretical. Marlon dumpstered a bunch of people at online tournies with Orcane. Of course, he can do that with any character, but the VODs do show off Orcane’s potential.

My point is very simple. He’s a harder character to get the hang of than most, while characters who are easy to pick up and play are thriving.
If you think results in the first month of a game’s lifespan perfectly represent the full potential of every character, you might be dumb.
Even if there were no patches, certain characters would go down as people figure them out, while others would move up.

I don't watch Marlon but I did watch Leffen and Dabuz, and previously mained Orcane myself.
Ease of use and reliability is a benefit which is more valuable than anything in Orcane's kit. Ask any top player.
Anyone losing to Orcane either doesn't know the MU or is plainly outskilled.

Marlon says Orcane is a low IQ ape and one of the best characters in the game. He counterpicks Fleet with him if I remember right, probably because it's literally impossible to edge guard him.
