Ao supports “evil” gods being evil. Evil people don’t get judged and go to hell. There’s no objective foundation for evil being wrong. If you are a murderer and worship Bhaal you don’t go to hell you go to Bhaal and he gives you your afterlife. Hell if you’re a murderhobo worshipper of Selune fighting for the greater good you still go to Selune. Being evil in DnD isn’t wrong, you just worship different gods and have a different perspective, one which is wholly supported by the Overgod as being legitimate. Bhaalist armor is one of the best armors in the game, arguably the best since most armors don't double your damage. booal's blessing is pretty nice icing. The infernal robe is a pretty reasonable robe, and so is Isobel's. Ulder's armor is good. People seem to forget that the hag hair is the bad route as well, and every powergamer takes that. So I think the bad route gets more toys than most people make it sound. The good route gets more but the bad route isn't hurting for stuff like lots of people say.

It could also be that the brain simply didn't want to change you yet because it's all part of the plan. The story of the game is that the brain is "controlled" by the dead three, but is so much smarter than they are that it's playing fifty moves ahead, and almost everything that happens is just part of it's own design - Shadowheart's strike team, the artifact, the Emperor's supposed freedom, all of it - and your role in the story is better served by not being a mindflayer for now. Most plot holes can be spackled over like this, the brain is so smart and so far ahead that it's basically metagaming.

I finished up my first playthrough of the game and really enjoyed it. I feel pretty happy with the good conclusions most of the characters got, and the epilogue was a really nice extra. Apparently that got patched in at some point, right? It felt like a nice send off after 130 hours.I feel like the game might've had a bit too much going on in Act 3. A seemingly endless amount of quests and EXP you don't need. Maybe raising the level cap might have made the game easier, but I don't think that would necessarily be a bad thing. Feels weird to be limited so soon in an RPG like this, which is a bit silly to even mention considering "so soon" means hour 90 of an incredibly long game.I looked into Dark Urge stuff and it seems okay. Chaos Theory again, extremely good, graphics like a UFO, fun to play, I must have played that demo disc island a thousand times before the full game. I don't know there's probably more. It isn't (just) that I'm old, occasionally a game will come out and grab me still, but less and less, more and more time in-between. I really thought BG3 was going to be a 10/10 in early access, I stumped here for it for years, but so much shit just didn't pay off or just disappeared, and so much of the cool stuff starts turning paper thin on replays, like a Telltale game. It isn't bad by any means, but if it's remembered as a classic in twenty years then the whole medium is dead.
