Just finished refactoring all my level code into a level manager actor I can just drop into each level. Will reduce bloat by a huge amount because Unreal doesn't instance code contained in levels, and has the added benefit of making all the variables much more easily accessible from the editor.
A little demoralizing doing all this refactoring, because it means not generating more content, even if it's a much better product in the end.
So far the whole thing is running 15% faster on average, and the install footprint has been reduced by around 1 Gig for extant resources.

Playing the schedule 1 demo and surprised by how unpolished it is. Already fucked up by placing the grow tent backwards and have no way to reposition it. Also spent like 10 minutes wandering around looking for a stash because I didn't realize the game had waypoint markers at the top.

I've made a system and it worked well, and at some point it stopped working fine. I was looking around my code why older versions were working fine while new build is fucking it all up. I traced it to a level loading function where I was doing some optimalisation so long ago I forgot all about it. In there, I found THERE WAS A TYPO! It was all because of a typo!!!
It could be all avoided. I had to test it at the initial stage of the optimalisation and I could do it back then when my memory was fresh and idea was new, but NOOOO, I had to forget all about it and now when I want to make my new version work smoothly it had to come back at me and haunt me.

I loved those microsoft pinball game demos when I was a kid, I would play them after school while waiting for my family to come back home. I saw an interesting roguelike take where you design the pinball board by unlocking new obstacles. Schedule 1 is not that though, it's a literal chore simulator.

custom editors are cool
the code for my tile grid was really bad because it was one of the first things I wrote. I literally just had individual invisible GameObjects at each grid space that held an enum which translated to actual data by casting the enum into an int and sending it as the index for a global list.
It's not fully integrated but now I made this custom editor that lets me just create the layout for a given map as a scriptable object. I'm using FE1 tile sprites because it's just an editor tool for making maps.

Yeah of course, I play a lot of idle games. S1 has stuff that grows and the return of money in chunks to the player. I am pretty sure that is it. Money doesn't come into your wallet in real time. Otherwise it's just like the other guy said, less deep cookie clicker with chores.
I have to admit to a small cohincidence, I am building the same kind of loop into my game as we speak, not inspired by S1 at all, but it does have fewer chores.

Usually, the way that I use Dialogic is to completely pause the game underneath when a timeline begins and then resume the game when the timeline ends. If you want to access the game while there's a timeline running, then you'll have to create your own custom Style. A Style is just a regular scene.

You are the bomb, dude. Excellent work here. Currently making some adjustments. I've got full transparency working.
Next I need to solve the issue of texture size. Currently, this shader needs the input texture's size to match the desired display area. Not an issue if the desired effect is to filter a large image, but my use case is primarily to animate precise patterns using low-res imagery.

I'm thinking there's some way to calculate the appropriate ivec2 for the triangle and sample the texture color with texelFetch.
Alternatively the source texture UV could be scaled, which i think might introduce color imprecision.

Never seen one! I believe it presents strong visual identity as a result, though.
My gimmick here is that disks you collect grant various abilities and display intricate patterns on the character's visor.
It will also be featured heavily in UI flourish.

everything you need to do mathematically have already been solved and documented.
