I think more shipperfags would be better off if they were so committed to characterization that they just exploited the reasons why a ship would be OOC. Take Amy for instance. The starting point of most of her ships is her giving up on Sonic because of some unseen reason. Why not focus on her inclination towards Sonic and weaponize that in favor of the ship? Or make that part of the humor? Why introduce a character trait that simply wasn't there? Amy isn't Sally Acorn, it takes a lot to break her persistence even in newer media.

The 06 Blaze landed in the Paramount universe. She must have cried at one point, unsealing Iblis who was later defeated by Knuckles (And then Wade in the echidna spirit world)We know this is possible because Shadow Generations confirmed that the Paramount Universe and the Sega universe can reach each other.
