Replaying the game and I dont get how people are struggling with money anymore in act 1. All the exploration, quests and relics give you plenty to manage without grinding. Its act 2 where shit gets pricy but then you have access to crazy grinding spots.

I like Bilewater, but the game being so punishing takes the fun out of it for me. I think it's cool that the floor ruins and eats your silk, rather than spike or lava you or even damage you. I think it's cool that the two enemies respawn making them more like environmental hazards rather than regular enemies. The fake bench fits lore-wise with how much they hate the citadel, and the real bench is in a location that's comfortable for them to reach. The boss has this mechanic where you can throw stuff in his mouth to damage him (though I think he's pretty boring other than that). Would be cool if the enemies there were immune to the poison damage boost from the poll-pouch.However, with how punishing the runback is, and having to do an arena before the boss each time, and even those flying muckroaches that can do 4 damage with a single attack cycle, it has really taken out a chunk of my enjoyment of this place.

The long run backs that eat more of your time than the actual boss does, having to do arenas all over when one loses at a special last wave, tools having currency limiting how much one can practice, experiment or fail with them, environmental hazards doing double damage, arenas that don't drop loot. All this stuff makes it tedious for me as I try to improve at the game. Rather than a feeling of "keep trying and git gud", Silksong gives me "Be gud, or give up" feeling. Because of this, I don't feel too favorably about it.

It only took me five tries, but Torment Trobbio was still a very annoying boss fight. He just spams so many effects, and can easily trap you if the RNG does not favor you. He went down surprisingly quick when I swapped to the shaman crest. Architect probably would have killed him even faster. Wanderer and Hunter are fucked against him.I think crest differences are why people are finding some bosses easy while others get filtered. Not all crests are equally good at fighting certain bosses and enemies.

Do you think Team Cherry should finally expand their devs to at least... 20 people instead of just 3? The added hands could do marvels, while still keeping it tight to not get corpo. I say this because even if ALL the 2D is beautiful, there is stuff that could be so much better, like the SFX and the most stylish screens in the game. SFX for better fire and explosion effects, and stylish for endboss stylish death screens. For both there are plenty of talent that added to the HK crew would polish what it's already a beautiful work even further.

By the time you have to go there, you can instead take a detour to Putrid Ducts for the charm that protects you from the shit water. If you do it for a while, get frustrated, and don't want to give up on your cocoon, just pop a Silkeater, that's what they're there for.
