The games don't even do a great job at saying what the plots are about, but you don't have a Cool Guy License unless you 1CC one of the games (it's not that hard, just do 8 on Normal) and the official manga stuff is also mostly additional with a few big lore drops sprinkled in. Again, some is fine, but some lore bits are dumb. Don't take it too seriously, I've seen some do that and they are not well.
