There's some level of jank with the chest rig and grabbing/throwing interactions that makes it slightly unpleasant to play. Full disclosure though: I really like Seethe & Dilate and I've played a lot of pavlov, so some of it comes down to familiarity with the particular way dave made the gun rig and grenade throwing. I do like some little things contractors does too like the ninja slide on crouch though. And weirdly I actually quite like the way exfil zone feels; slowing down the game to extraction shooter speed seems to match the feel well in a way that contractor's cawadooty-ish default feel (plus the literal MW2 mod) don't.The other shooty game that filtered me is H3VR. It's just too janky and precise to be fun. I do really like the quick bolt thing it has though, I wish pavlov had that for bolt actions.

See image for how to measure.The Quest 2 and 3S are especially cursed in the IPD department, as they only have 3 steps to choose from, but unless you're an absolute hammerhead it shouldn't be /that/ bad.Finally, remove the facial interface completely and see if you can find a position where you see clearly.The stock facial interface is a case of one-size-kinda-sotra-maybe-fits-some-people, so depending on your face it is entirely possible that the headset just refuses to sit at the right angle. There are many third-party choices, including flexible ones that mold a bit better to your face.

Many avatars now use some sort of shared base body, but otherwise when outfits are released they tend to come with support for a variety of avatars bases, just based off whatever the outfit creator found fitting. If your avatar isn't supported you can always PICK IT UP and manually fit an outfit in blender, in the end everything is just mesh data and weightpainting and you have complete freedom to modify it. Here's an outfit that the outfit creator supports a fuckload of avatars for. Turns out v1 base stations actually have a range limit of 5.5 meters apart. Beyond that SteamVR gives a warning, they jitter around, and the headset loses tracking constantly, even at just 6 meters.

SteamVR is such a flaming piece of garbage. The deckard is going hard so fucking hard with the current state of that shitware.I launch a second application which uses openxr and instead of putting the first application's session into IDLE state until the seconds one exists, it EXIT's the session the first right away. Okay, it's stupid, but I can deal with it, no problem, I will just make the openxr thread sleep and check from time to time until the child exe stops then restart the session manually. Or so I thought, turns out SteamVR goes out of its way to manually KILL the first exe. Nobody gave a single fuck that maybe I'm doing something fucking important in the first exe. It just killed it.And even that killing doesn't work properly. If you launch the same exe twice, it still kills the first one but the second iteration will never render anything. It will switch to FOCUSED state, but nothing will be visible in the head, just the steamvr environment.And after that you can launch even more iterations, and then you have multiple applications in the FOCUSED, which is massive violation of the specs. But only up to 3, on 4th all processes just freeze. And that's ignoring the good old never ending spam of validation errors in their runtime code.I hate valve, I hate steamvr.Thanks for watching this tiktok.

I sweat a lot and use the silicone pad on my Quest 3 but it's comfortable for max 45 minutes.If you want, you can set up a green screen to see your devices through VR if you need it, but again it's yet another thing to set up.I'm still fine with the Q3 because it doesn't need an awful amount of room like triples.The worst thing for me is the setup for low latency. I hope the next generation will have an easy way to do it, like DP cable instead of USB.

I've beat half life 1, 2, 2e1 and 2e2 in VR half life 1 was best outright half life 2 was fantastic, gaben is a genius 2e1 and 2e2 were too short in VR and when they were first released on orange box Now im playing Half Life Alyx immediately after and I have to say, It looks great but so did half life 2, so did half life 1. Half Life Alyx is a much higher performance heavy on my machine as well, very long load times which is rather unacceptable in VR. Half Life 1 and 2 we're so smooth and good. We don't need the fluff in VR to be fully immersed in a game. Half Life 2 was perfect blend of performance. Seriously underrated series. That's all for now.
