One cute detail about rereading GoA is how much of a goddamn tsundere Kay is. There's this story set after Mordred's rebellion but before Artoria comes back where he says he's sick of everything, doesn't care about anything anymore, so he's just gonna take his money and scram and leave all the mess for her to clean up, saying he'd be happier anywhere else (except anywhere near Lancelot). Then several chapters later the narration quietly mentions he's the one leading the surprise charge to defend her landfall once he actually arrives. No explanations, he does all that whining and he's back on the battlefield the following day.
