We should all mourn his death and remember him as Narcocheatsky so that none of his hard work gets forgotten.

I can see people rationalize using chessbase in the the speedrun cheating as trying to be as instructive as possible for his viewers making sure not to miss anything or misremembering opening theory and saying it doesn't matter since he would win every game anyway and his opponents got refunded, that's most likely how he rationalized it too
>>
>>543748496
Is there any way to send this to kramnik? I think he'd have a nice laugh.

I unironically don't see anything wrong with that. Maybe I am retarded but I really think it's fine. He wanted to show some game for the viewers to explain some concept when his shitter opponent was thinking. It was all education.

So he innocently set up a plugin to sync the chesscom position with the engine just to streamline the creation of educational content, rather than importing it afterward or using the in-browser analysis like every other speedrun series does?

"speedruns" shouldn't even be allowed in the first place. imagine you log in to chesscom/lichess, you hit "find game", get a game, try your best, and lose... because you played against a GM sandbagging for "educational content". you never had a chance, it was never a fair match.
>>
>>543750560
>playing a grandmaster is bad
i would pay money to have a game against a grandmaster anon
>>
>>543749147
This is just more "cancelling" and "deplatforming" bullshit. Just old-fashioned social ostracization dressed up with modern lingo smoke and mirrors.
>>
>>543750618
i would love to play against GMs, but only if i know they're GMs beforehand. but not if they're playing from some random sandbagged account without the GM flare.

these scenarios are different:
>you get a game against rando_lol (1900)
you think ok this person is 1900, no worries

>you get a game against GM big_guy (3300)
you think oh shit, this is a serious GM
>>
>>543750481
So that night was caused by benadryl, then what? After that he slept and then won 1/3 matches in the Comet event and then got eliminated. I doubt his first instinct would be to take even more benadryl after a known bad reaction
>>
>>543750913
but it says
>speedrun account of GM xyz
>>
>>543750618
Do people know they're getting smushed by a GM or does it just wind up feeling like you got wrecked by some 1200 with an engine?
>>
>>543750970

Nepo blocked this GM who was playing titled tuesday in the taketaketake studio after getting flagged and accused him of cheating.
This was one day after Danya's death was announced. What a sore loser lmao

i sound like an asshole but its true, you dont just kill yourself by overdosis by things like this. look at hans, he had 10000000x worse and was left alone in the world, was 10 years younger too, and look at him now.
>>
>>543753730

Nepo didn't accuse him of cheating. Nepo literally said

Danya was LITERALLY MURDERED. He was about to spill the beans on the extent of FIDE corruption - Dvorkovich, Sutovsky, Kramnik, Nepo and the entirety of FIDE, all in the pocket of Ruzzian oligarchs. Danya was about to reveal it all to the jeets and ziggers couldn't have that. It was extremely easy to break into his home and swap his usual meds for benzos. Perfect timing too.

great idea anon, they will surely make great habits
>>
>>543756478
>why does everybody shill the caro-kann colle london etc
because they can be autopiloted with no brain required so they can carry a 500 elo to 800 elo and convince them they "improved at chess" when they're only parroting one plan
>why not the Kings indian
because Kramnik refuted it 30 years ago
>>
>>543750364
Yea dude, it was fent. He actually started shooting fent when he was 15.

Are you retarded? He was sad because he lost at his event, got home and started drinking and took too many of his xanax. He had no tolerance because he obviously wasn't a serious drug abuser. Just his prescribed Adderall and xanax or klonopin for panic attacks. Easier than you think to OD on it when mixed with liquor and you have no tolerance, if he would have just drank beer or something he would've slept it off. Probably got into a blackout state pretty fast and took more and more since his impulse control was completely shut off. Do you really think Daniel Naroditsky was doing fentanyl or that that is even a remote possibility? Don't be stupid.
>>
>>543756630
If they stick with your method they're never getting past a triple digit elo or a double digit iq

I'll never forget the first time I played in an OTB tournament and played a gentleman named L'Jarius.
He tried to move his knight like a rook and got disqualified.
He had to be escorted out by security. Kept turning around and trying to get at me and shouting, "Come see about me! Come see about me!" I had no idea what that meant so I just tried looking at him placatingly. But eye contact just made him shout more. I was 9 at the time.
He had a lot of intimidating friends with him who kept telling me, "You done did it now... Uh huh, you done did it now boy." But fortunately I never saw them again.
It was clearly his first time playing. He brought a little container of cheez-its and seemed all set to go. His friends were standing at the back of the room rubbing their hands incessantly and emitting at intervals "Uh huh!" and "You know what time it is!" The arbiter shushed them like thirty times over the course of our three move game.

For instance, there is a prostitution ring related to chess egirls. What I have told was Naroditsky benefited of it: he got the 'The New York Times' chess column job in exchange of his silence. I haven't confirmed this but there is irrefutable proof that chess egirls do prostitution.

Benadryl causes brain damage by the way. Unfortunate that people just casually pop them to help them sleep. I used to be in that boat briefly, until I did a little research.

>Benadryl is an anticholinergic drug, meaning it blocks acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter essential for learning, memory, and alertness. When used chronically, this prolonged suppression of acetylcholine activity may disrupt normal brain communication, leading to confusion, memory loss, and impaired thinking.

>This decision made the Socialist opposition grind their teeth. Kramnik, a 41‑year‑old Russian and world champion from 2000 to 2007, has an impressive record and a spotless résumé, but Karpov is a problem. “We don’t question his qualities as a champion, but he is also a deputy in the Duma, the Russian parliament,” thundered Delphine Méric, Socialist municipal councillor. “He is a politician close to Putin, anything but a democrat. I can tell you are brown and English is your second language so I will try to explain more lucidly. Do you have a program on your computer that extracts the game you are currently playing to an engine? Not likely, the only people that would have such a thing are cheaters. There was not enough time from when he supposedly “opened chessbase” to have manually inputted the moves. It was already inputted.

Brandon got banned right after the match because danya reported him. Danya also said it was thy biggest mistake if his life to even play the match. If he was suddenly forced to play you, I think he might be flaggable if you're one of the li2200+ bullet players itt
Note that he would see tactics very quickly and his positional understanding would make the game much more difficult than you might be imagining, but he could be flaggable because he is not used to playing 1+0 and doesn't even premove iirc.
However, if he took it seriously, had a few days to prepare, practiced bullet, and enabled premoves, you're kidding yourself if you think he would be below 2600ish libullet, and that's probably an underestimate

We have no way of knowing exactly what program/plugin he used, but that's irrelevant, because it was clear he had a system in place to communicate between stockfish and the chesscom board.
Such a system would be very easy for anyone technically savvy to set up, there are a million ways he might have done it.
desu, it might be totally legit for someone who plays so much high-level blitz to want instant access to strong analysis after games rather than something running in javascript - but you've failed the basic hurdle of even understanding that such a system is possible and that he used one, which isn't really in dispute.

poorly, but his excuse was "input lag" that many other GMs were complaining about. if he had a script to read game state and feed it into an engine, proctor definitely would've fucked with that because it monitors all running programs and it runs in a separate custom browser so you can't use weird browser extensions or user scripts.
>>
>>543785043
The moves of the game appeared into an engine software instantaneously. The fact that it happened, on camera, is what a person with a 3 digit IQ would consider proof. For your jungle monkey brain this is insufficient, but that’s because you’re not a human. My dog also wouldn’t understand this no matter how clearly I explained it to him, so I understand your difficulty in comprehending this.
>>
>>543784772
This was easily debunked no? The game against the 1100 has 20 seconds removed where his opponent is stalling in a lost position. Thats the time it took for danya to set it up on another analysis board. You can go check the time on his opponents clock to confirm this. To be fair it does look like its instantaneous without knowing that its edited.

nope. he was challenged to set up an engine in the time it "took him to do it" during the speedrun, and he literally failed to do it
not only that but the challenge was charitable to him to begin with. because he got to mentally prepare for it, go into it with the sole intention of doing nothing but speedrunning the setup, as though that's how it actually played out in real life
so not only was he afforded an opportunity he didn't really deserve, he failed on top of that
but somehow you cocksuckers are still sitting around going "NO PROOF!" and making up shit like this because you can't just accept that danya had a cheating setup. it's sad

I checked the originally video, the edit is actually more than 20 seconds. Go check for yourself since you care so much about the truth. He says "I wish he would resign in this position" and then starts opening the engine since the game is over to him. And its around 22 seconds. So it completely fits with the demonstration. Also, again, its not a very scientific demonstration, there's no stopwatch visible, no countdown to begin etc. The point of the demonstration was to show its within the realm of possibilities, and thats what he successfully did even under immense pressure.

because daniel wouldn't shut up about how daddy vladdy buck broke him with a year long crusade. It's like in elementary when you bully a kid and call him a faggot all the time. Then he gets more and more depressed and eventually overdoses. You are directly responsible for making his life miserable. Does that make you indirectly responsible for his death? Technically not. But people are different.

For example, Hans is a gigachad, he had the entire world laugh at him and literally check if he's not using a buttplug engine and Hans just shrugged it off and kept on trucking. But Naro and Navara are complete pussyfaggots in that regard. They are mentally fragile. It's clear that Kramnik's shit did massive damage to Daniel's mental.

Now, Daniel has always been a degen addicted to blitz and bullet. So it's not like he was a shining beacon of hope before kramnik. But without Kramnik would he really overdose? I seriously doubt that. Daniel was way too successful in life. Sadly he cared way too much about a fucking insane soviet cunt.

Like holy fucking shit. You have so many deranged world champion fucks. Nazi Alekhine. Schizo jew obsessed Fischer. Kasparov who thinks 1000 years of history never happened because the Holy Roman Empire did an ebin prank. Kramnik with the retarded non-credible statistics and accusing anyone who beats this washed cunt in blitz. Carlsen who couldn't handle a snarky cunt (hans) beating him in classical. Ding (pseudo-WC) who's a manchild pampered by his mom to this day and has the mental fortitude of a hamster. Nepo (contender) who is basically Kramnik lite. Fabiano who's an opening autist and also just as paranoid about cheaters as Kramnik and co. Anish the holy christian crusader muzzie hater. Tigran L PIPI Petrosian.

Need I go on? Grandmasters and mental illness go hand in hand and the higher you go in this damn game, the more insane you become. So I guess my point is that it's hard to apply common sense and logic to these fucks

Played against a Scandi at chess club recently. I seriously don't know the proper lines, but our game went 1. e4 d5 2. exd5 nf6 3. d4 upon which he gave me a very strange look. Was I supposed to try and save the pawn or something?

>Why Opening Trainers Like Chessable are Fucking Shit
>by SmithyQ
>
>[...] The vast majority of the time, my in-depth opening knowledge is useless.
>
>Worse than useless, actually. Subjectively, I still felt uncertain about what moves to play. Can you imagine that? Investing 100+ hours into something, not feeling like I know it just a few moves in. That is completely unacceptable. When I learned most of IM Dembo's Grunfeld book back in the day, I invested far less time and had much better knowledge, recall and subjective confidence in my moves.
>[...]
>First, studying on these platforms is nothing like playing in a real game. Chessable has some pretty glaring technical limitations, but this extends to all of the options I've tried. Fundamentally, these simply train you to REACT to moves. You don't think about your opponent, you don't look at their plans or ideas; your focus is solely, 100%, on your own rote replies. You get very good at shooting off several moves in the blink of an eye, often without fully knowing if there are other reasonable replies for either side. It's not programed in, so it doesn't matter... until it comes up in a game, and it DOES matter.

Bro actually using text to speech its okay Lil bro.
>>
>>543812302
>[...] Knowing that 7.Bxf6 is the best move doesn't do much if you can't explain why it is.
>[...]
>Finally, all of these programs confuse "doing something once" with "knowing it." The entire premise of spaced repetition is to prompt recall of something right before you would normally forget it. This is entirely useless if you didn't learn something in the first place.
>[...]
>I stopped using opening trainers and reclaimed dozens of hours each month. My opening knowledge has taken only a modest hit, and it would take just a small amount of work to get back to normal. I don't miss the grind at all, and I will never go back. Ultimately, I think all of these platforms are fundamentally broken: they give the illusion of progress.

life is meant to be ignored. It's fucking boring and filled with work, escapism, more work to try and get some 5/10 used up whore to have spoiled brats with. The most fun I have personally is when I ride MTB on mountain tracks at high speeds like a retard. The least fun I have is when I browse through whores on tinder. Chess is like in between, it's engaging but also a massive autistic waste of life. But hey, I know how to make cool mates with the kings indian so that's nice
>>
>>543812447
chessable has always been dogshit because of the shitty spaced repetition woodpecker autism. I tried some free courses way back and after disabling the repetition it was alright-ish, but the main issue is that you learn some high level sidelines that you rarely get in intermediate games. I learned way more from watching Chad Bartholomew, Chessnetwork, Deadanya, Chessbrah sellout dudebro niggers and Obersturmbannfuhrer Chessexplained.

Since some anons claim that Narcocheatsky didn't fail the 20 seconds challenge in Levitov's podcast, let's prove them wrong.
First, the speedrun video: https://youtu.be/rgLTiUZAWQY?si=LDwvvvkeWZbhPOmP&t=1500
Here are the facts:
>Narcocheatsky starts looking left (to where his second or third monitor is) when his opponent's clock marks 7:12.
>The video gets cut and we jump to when his opponent's clock marks 6:52.
>He's looking further left than he was when the video got cut at 7:12, so we might later deduct a second from Danya. Not really important.
>At 6:51 he speaks "Yeah, this is interesting actually. The engine... [...] It's arguing against taking the knight on g5."
>This means that at 6:51 he is looking at the position before hxg5 i.e. the position after 1.d3 e5 2.e3 d5 3.Bd2 Nf6 4.Nf3 Bd6 5.Nc3 c6 6.Qe2 0-0 7.Ng5 h6 8.h4
>In summary, in 21/20 seconds he input 15 moves, loaded Stockfish, and read its first line noticing it wasn't hxg5.
Now, Levitov's podcast: https://www.youtube.com/live/UN6OSgte26E?si=OJDXCeyPPYqznCyf&t=3813
Here are the facts:
>At 1:03:33 of the video, he has Chessbase open with 1.e4 already played on it.
>He starts the challenge at 1:03:34 and plays 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nc3 d5 4.exd5 Nxd5 5.Bb5+ Bd7 6.Ne5 Nf6 7.Qf3 Bxb5.
>He finishes entering moves at 1:03:44 and starts loading the engine.
>Stockfish loads at the top of the screen at 1:03:55.
>He announces that Stockfish has loaded at 1:03:56.
>In summary, in 22 seconds he input 13 moves (1.e4 was already played), loaded Stockfish, and announced that it had loaded (this is equivalent to reading its first line).
So, he took 1 or 2 extra seconds to input 2 moves less in a context where he was challenged to input moves as fast as possible, with the privilege to prepare for it beforehand.
Final verdict: this is a FAILED challenge. He should have input them much quicker. Narcocheatsky didn't redeem himself with this demonstration.

Let's assume you're learning 1. d4. As it's prone to transpositions, many different moves are fine and often lead to the same positions anyway. But due to the way chessable is built, the authors get lazy and only list some alternative moves. Now, any move that they haven't listed as alternative is deemed by chessable as wrong. So in practice - you're learning about a catalan setup, but you go Bg2 on move 4 instead of 5 or 6. Boom, mistake. Still, it shows you the """correct""" move and lets you past. Cool. You go further into the line and eventually make similar mistakes that don't change the eval but are marked as wrong by the system. Now you have to repeat your mistakes. The board jumps into move 4 and it expects you to move the bishop to g2. If you don't, it's wrong. Again, again, again. Now, does this help you to remember to put the bishop there, even though in a real game you could have waited one move and it wouldn't change a thing? Not really. It basically makes you turn off your chess brain and turn on the "monkey brain, monkey do" part of your brain. Then in a real game you'll get a setup similar to the catalan, but with some nuance. You automatically go 4. Bg2 and suddenly you realise that you just went full system brain without looking what your opponent did. Spaced repetition is great for language learning or learning history dates, not for chess. When asked about it, coaches usually say to just analyze your own games, learn from master games, learn tactics and learn basic ideas and common tactical patterns in your opening repertoire. But don't go grinding moves with chessable like it's a civil law exam.

IMO it's a bit braindead. Like Smithy mentioned. Your brain takes a snapshot of a certain board setup and then you'll mindlessly move the "good" piece where it's supposed to go because you know that's what Chessable wants you to do. You don't necessarily know WHY it was the best move because whoever came up with the course you're doing is being a vague faggot.
>>
>>543814794
alright thats reasonable i guess, if the problem is just that its not explained properly why you should make that move
otherwise it just seems like a disconnect in expectations because its not telling you an engine approved move its helping you memorize whoever created its recommended move

>dont you (or the course authors) define your own variations?
The author does but so far I haven't seen a "variation tree", so to speak. Meaning that when I do a decent move that doesn't fit what the author had in mind, it gets flagged as a "variation" and the board gets reset. It's better than being flagged as wrong, I guess.
>>
>>543813890
Well done
>>
>>543814643
Reread my comment. Course authors define variations, yes, but memorizing perfect move orders is useless and counterintuitive, especially in transpositional openings like d4. You can learn the Nimzo to move 10 and then on move 9 the opponent does a different move than stated in the course. Boom, now you have a whole new variation to memorize. It's not like e4 e5 where many moves are forced. It's just much more useful to watch an opening course video series or a read a book. The only good part of chessable is the interactive book part, not its spaced repetition system. You can learn openings much more effectively with a video series or a book pdf with chessvision to scan the positions and play with them in the lichess analysis.

i previously used chessmadra / chessbook when it was free for similar purposes so i guess my expectations are more in line with how chessable does the training exercises. i'd value you guys input anyway

>>543815330
true but thats just a problem of the course not properly covering all your options. if you make your own then it can be useful to just memorize what your choice of move is in any given opening situation

In this video he's setting up a very simple position with only a few moves, for whatever reason. In the actual speedrun video he does an engine analysis during a live game on move 20 (after the unexplained 20 second cut). You can't physically move 40 pieces fast enough, I've tried. Therefore Danya was using a cheating tool that syncs live games with Chessbase.

I wouldn't necessarily call that a cheating tool, it's a perfectly legitimate thing to want to do.
If you played blitz seriously and wanted the games in chessbase for archival and analysis (in case chesscom ever oopsies and deletes them or w/e) then this would be a great tool.
But of course one should take great care never to activate it while a game is ongoing

also his computer might have just been running slower that day, there are external factors that can explain a small delay. Also he had the game more fresh in his mind the first time so that could have helped him too
we're down to 1 or 2 seconds, its getting kinda silly at this point. this is one of the weakest kramnik arguments and even kramnik didnt push on it after the demonstration was a SUCCESS

That's actually the only logical conclusion even without trying to time anything. He's not going to play thousands of games and have to manually set everything up every time. He needs his stream to be as engaging as possible because that gets him more subs and donations. Anyone with coding experience knows it's very easy to connect existing tools together to make any kind of setup like that according to your personal needs.

The only question is if he had given in to the pressure of using it for high pressure situations when facing Wesley and other big names where a reputation boost is guaranteed.

>its a high stress environment, not a casual stream
This means he moves quicker than a casual stream, where he is calm and can take his time inputting the moves. Also, you don't mean to claim that a blitz addicted GM isn't used to playing quick moves under high stress, do you?
>his computer might have just been running slower that day
Fair, we don't know. But the challenge result remains a failure, so don't lie about it.
>he had the game more fresh in his mind the first time so that could have helped him too
Narcocheatsky played on Levitov's podcast an opening of his choice, which he remembers by heart. The moves he had to enter during his speedrun stream were very bad patzer moves you wouldn't see together in a good opening like e3, d3, Bd2 and Qe2. If anything is harder to remember and thus slower to input, it's the speedrun one.
>we're down to 1 or 2 seconds, its getting kinda silly at this point
1 or 2 seconds for less moves is still failing the challenge. He should be expected to reproduce what he did on the speedrun stream quicker, not slower. The verdict is clear.
>this is one of the weakest kramnik arguments
Yes, it isn't very strong by itself. That's why we combine it with Bc8, Ne5 being a faster mate than Bc4, suspicious eye movements that indicate a third monitor, etc. It's just another piece of evidence. Small, but solid evidence.

kramnik was pushing the idea as if it was impossible to get an engine open and running within 20 seconds, clearly its not. A small lag in his computer can account for 2 seconds. It's just clearly a nothing point. Kramnik just didnt realize there was an edit, then when he found out he said the edit was suspicious, theres no way to convince him. has kramnik admitted he was wrong about any of the people he publicly accused?

>>
>>543820561
I am not discussing whether Kramnik says this or that. I am discussing Narocheatsky's suspicious behaviour. If doubts about the possibility of him cheating can't be dispelled, then cheating accusations towards him are justified. Whether some accusations turn out to be correct or baseless is a different matter. In this case, the 20 seconds challenge was failed and the accusation in this regard remains valid.

>A small lag in his computer can account for 2 seconds
I'm really tired of such convenient excuses like a small lag or "he naturally looks away while playing OTB" being used to defend the accusations, so I will take down this one.
If a lag occured on Levitov's stream, then Danya, who knows how fast he himself is able to input moves and load Stockfish, would have noticed it and used it as a defense. Then he could have repeated the challenge without lag proving he can do it under 20 seconds. He didn't mention any of that. Therefore, there is no reason to use a small lag as a defense other than to blindly defend Narocheatsky. If he didn't believe at the time that Chessbase lagged, why should we?

This was a literal "input 15 moves into Chessbase and open Stockfish" speed test where Danya's credibility regarding the cheating accusations was on the line. What exactly do you think that was? A casual conversation at the cafe where Danya wants to show Vladimir a game for fun?
>Did kramnik ever bring this point up again?

>>543827718
Opening Chessbase and loading Stockfish are two different things. If you don't load Stockfish, Chessbase doesn't analyze anything on its own. He probably already had Chessbase open from previous games but needed to input the moves from scratch since the 1100 game started with 1.d3. Then he would load Stockfish.

drugs and hormones can get attached to binding proteins, so it's common to have "free" biomarkers that measure free-floating compounds that are not bound up, and "total" which can take into account everything. it usually just depends on which is easier and cheaper

>>543838693
No anon that's a Saint Bernard.

Did Fabi's indian intern write this post? What?
>>
>>543840078
You must actually be brown. What he said was perfectly acceptable English. Literally the only thing wrong is missing a period at the end of the second sentence.
>>
>>543840509
including the lack of apostrophe in 'its', which even a lot of fully fluent english speakers would've mistakenly added
>>
>>543840658
Indeed.
>>
>>543840658
It's perfectly normal English to say 'The disrespect just reached it is peak.'
>>
>>543840830
Literally yes.

Does anyone have any ideas as to how to make puzzles more fun?

I had two separate ideas. One of them is attaching it to a game somehow and making something good happen in the game every time you got a puzzle solved.
>>
Ignore this >>543840873
My dumbass misread your post.
Your dumb ass doesn't understand the difference between a possessive pronoun (its) and a contraction (it's, contracted from 'it is').
>>
>>543841118
i bet you felt really smart when you made this post
>>
>>543840971
Add modifiers. Like, before starting a puzzle three random options are presented to the player. Shit like "win within 10sc to gain x1.5 points (but only win x0.5 after 10sc)", "gain three coins", etc.
"Coins" being a web-currency to buy cosmetic shit.
Turn puzzles into a casino game, basically.
>>
>>543841751 (Me)
If it wasn't obvious, the player must choose an option before attempting to solve a puzzle.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the English, but when I read the tweet I hear an indian voice, not Fabi's.
Just to be sure, I checked his twitter and that tweet doesn't show up in a search.
It reads like a fake post designed to rile up the denizens of /r/chessindia or w/e
Imagine Fabiano caring *at all* about a gesture of showmanship like that at an exhibition event, and then complaining about it on twitter. lol
>>
>>543838318
okay that's funny

Jerry's video on Danya is actually quite sweet and moving. No drama, just a game and his memories of the guy.

>It turned out to be quite strange, the Great “Russian” Revolution, didn’t it?
>It was prepared by Jews
>it was performed by Jews
>it was financed by Jews
>the country was headed by Jews after it.
>But, nevertheless, in all the history books it is called the “Great” Russian Revolution!
