I found another sonic-like fangame for 5 bucks if anyone is interested. It's called Lunistice. Its got 7 levels with two acts each, which equates to abut 14 total levels, which I think is pretty fair for 5 bucks. It's a low poly game, but you can fine tune the details to your liking. I myself put the CRT and Low Quality filter both on to look like a PS1 era game, but you can mess around and find something preferable to you. They'll gameplay is really solid and nice. The S-Ranks are obtained not by speed, but collection and doing so without dying. This leads it to be pretty easy, and not centered around speed, despite it still feeling good going fast. All in all, for 5 bucks, its a really fun and solid experience.

In both cases, the love interest is an idealized dream person or whatever. But the sharp contrast is how the male shonen mc is likely to be "Tails-like" with the very idea of Sonic being a rival at best.
