How do you beat Gray Tempest nowadays? They have 600k in the factory, 240k in the entry system. I have the largest most advanced empire in the galaxy and I only have 100k total. Federation allies bring it up to 160k but their ships are hot garbage.Ship tech is about on par.
For AOW4, how are these mods balance-wise? Anything you guys recommend? Mostly looking for more tomes to improve the RP angle of this game, but anything is fine.
>>549254658what game is this?
>>549359893>>549184980
>>549337934Is this AoW4? In 1 and 2 you could just migrate races, but it could tank your relations with them.
>>549353018>100kI have at least 3x that number to beat the fleets camping at egress. The factory goes down surprisingly fast, tho

Idk if this is the right thread but I tried song styx during the free trial period and really enjoying it. I was wondering if I should sink a lot of time into this game or rimworld instead since I want a more relaxing game recently and xcom 2 permadeath and rng pissing me off. What would you guys recommend? Or maybe another similar game in the same vein?
>>549374819Anno 1800 with either no AI or easy AI.
I've always thought AoW was like Age of Empires, but it's a combination of HoMM, Total War and DnD
I've played three games of Stellaris recently and "The Chosen" have appeared in all of them and have taken over at least a third of the galaxy each time. Did I just get unlucky with some event or are they some kind of midgame crisis now?
>>549378983kinda unlucky, they show up half the time
>>549379745man that sucks, I don't want another advanced fanatic purifier every other game
>>549380282they're usually not that tough
>>549377519Welcome aboard.
I will start using stellaris to slow my attention down. I will try to read every event and at least give the big ones a fair chance. I legit only ever read the bonuses and I have 0 story considerations in my 50 hours of playing. Also I’m taking the ego down a notch and playing on low difficulty. Now my question is:Any fun builds? I feel like the game has too much content abd will need multiple games to experience it but for now just wanna play low and slow. Also good galaxy generation settings? I have all the dlc through steam so dw about that.
>>549353018build more ships buddypump that alloy production up
>>549353018cheese them with cloaked frigatestempest has zero detection, you can just fly into their home system with a large enough ball of cloaked frigates and nuke the factory which will instantly kill all their fleets
>>549381590How do I pump up the pops to fill the alloy foundries? I last played way before 4.0 so I've lost my touch with the meta>>549381747How many ships/fleet power do I need to guarantee the kill? Like I said I left sciships in the cluster so there's like 600k+ worth of defense there now
>>549380914Just play "tall" so you don't have to deal with a billion notifications and can take the time to read events. Machine Species, Guardian Matrix civic and Virtualisation ascension. I think it was stronger before but it's still silly now.
I'm not a big fan of Stellaris. The power system feels like I'm playing a Chinese xianxia game. You're either vastly weaker than your enemies or overwhelmingly stronger. There doesn't seem to be an in-between
>>549384853Kinda wish true tall was possible but oh well
>>549388620What's not possible about it? Tall with vassals is better than wide now. Suppose it's how you're defining tall but reducing empire size is meta now.
>>549388620What do you mean by “true tall”? If you take the ringworld origin you can just stay in your home system without expanding and make it work, that’s about as tall as it gets
>>549336010I-is this the place to post about tycoon/park builder games? (Ie Rollercoaster Tycoon, Zoo Tycoon, Planet Zoo, Jurassic World Evolution, etc)?

>>549525330Yes but after the early middle ages they became very rare because they were banned in the second council of Nicaea.
>>549525330The mixed monasteries got a bit of a revival later on. This is the abbey of Fontvraud which was also a dubble cloister but only one of the few arround its time. It also houses the grave of Eleonore of Aquitaine and became one of the burial sites of the Plantagenet family.

>>549647730Probably to be kids-friendly. I think the name is Onsen Musume, but I dunno if it's anime or a g*cha.
>>549647730>In that one manga where a dude dies and gets reincarnated as an onsen
>>549648093They're running out of ideas.
>>549648093When manga publishers realized there was a big market for Isekai stories, we saw a lot of really stupid crap. Including one where the guy is reincarnated as a vending machine. In a dungeon.
>>549647930It may also be a promotional campaign for onsens or something. They sometimes do those for various regional things all around the country.>>549648093Isekai Onsen ni Tensei shita Ore no Kounou ga TondemosugiruThe story is meh, but the girls bathing in him are pretty cute.
>>549648596The vending machine crap at least got an anime. I think it's two seasons now? I liked the onsen manga better but it didn't get shit.
alright you fuckin weebs get back on topic
So yeah, I think Onsen Musume is an anime?I dunno, it just had a cute girl with an excellent ass in a swimsuit, so I saved it.
>>549649185>The Onsen Musume Project is a "regional revitalization project" created to communicate the appeal of hot spring resorts and local cities across Japan both domestically and internationally through IP (intellectual property) such as anime, manga, characters, and voice actors. Two-dimensional characters with motifs from various hot spring areas across the country are being developed in multifaceted media such as comics, novels, games, and animation! ! We are turning the area into a ``sacred place'' (tourist attraction) by holding on-site filming and talk events at the hot spring area by the voice actors who play the characters.
>Genuinely trying to git gud at Civ 6 because 7 is garbage >Barbarian Clans make the game a lot more fun >If it's even possible to win>50% of the time it's not >Frequently 3+ camps right outside of my first city within 10 turns >Strong chance they spawn the most powerful military on the face of the earth within 30 Just got out of 4 consecutive games where I had to start over because there were 4+ horsemen, multiple warriors and slingers, even 2+ hetairoi right outside of my first city within 30 turnsWhat are you even supposed to do against this? How the fuck is it even possible to? I could just be bad but this feels like really garbage design
>>549651442You need to take them out as soon as possible. You can either build a slinger first after settling, or (since building anything takes so long) get a mod that lets you adjust the units you start with. One warrior and one slinger should be enough to take out a camp with some careful play. Once you research Code of Laws, get the policy that gives you extra attack power against barbarians.
>>549654594Oh, forgot to add - this may be a bit different on difficulty levels higher than King, since enemy units also get more bonuses the higher you go.

Did the Frostpunk 2 dlc fix the game?
>>549676215What needed to be fixed?
>>549677452It's not Frostpunk
>>549673426How's the game these days?Last I played it was when it launched on early access.
>>549679071It's not the same as the first game that is true but I think the step they've made was logical. Otherwise they would have made the same game with maybe a bigger final boss. They could have added more events arround singular people in your city and show how your choices have affected their lives, that could have grounded the story more. They have added more events with the free patch and the dlc but I haven't played it yet. Maybe the extra depth to the factions will also make utopia mode more interesting. Utopia mode is supposed to be the main experience and the story is just a big tutorial. >>549679208I dunno, it was the first time I was playing the game. It was fun.
>>549679071They did release a small sneak peak of Frostpunk 1886.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CcZfqQ8kws
>>549679071Good, because every other game is Frostpunk now. Doing something different with the sequel was the right move.
>>549682712>lets ruin our game with unreal engine 5
>>549684294Not that anon but I do think the sequal feels a bit sterile. Like I said before I think the game could have been better with a more fleshed out story. Maybe some scenarios that radically change the way you need to play, etc. They also could have added some random events that let you follow up on people during the story. You only have the girl that is born on the day the generator was fired up again. Those kind of things could help ground the story or your decisions.>>549684476Yeah lots of unreal engine 5 games look similar in some ways.
>>549685268They don't just look similar, they run like ass and have tons of visual artifacts.
no wonder the first enemy turn during base defense took so long
>>549626845>>549647414>温泉むすめyeah lol, where the fuck is that place in the map supposed to be though?Btw, one of my favorites things in japan, shame the game doesn't have that tho
>>549694651>where the fuck is that place in the map supposed to be though?In Japan? I don't get your question;
Where do I find coomer mods for Civ4?
>>549703240
>>549701206>In Japan? I don't get your questionduh, not a reconizable map of japan as I could see, couldn't read the place name either, but after a little research, its 鳥取県
Is stellaris good yet, or is there a mod that makes it good yet? I ask this question about once every three years

Is Sengoku /civ4xg/? I saw it in my library and remembered I bought it and very quickly dropped it, but I can't remember why.I fear it might be /gsg/ clay though.
>>549762475considering it's basically CK2-lite, it's /gsg/
>>549762663Then I'll play something else. What's a good weeaboo game with lot of samurais that isn't Total War? Age of Mythology?
>>549762831battle realms?
>>549764320Isn't that more like World of Chinacraft?
>>549703240Dunno, I haven't found any for civ in general.
>see Oriental Empire in my Steam library>"oh, I remember that, looked fun. Why haven't I played it in years?">boot it up>giant tech tree with four simultaneous research>very costly decrees to improve my bureaucracy while I struggle to make it even because one of my town is too far form the others to trade despite roads existing>try to dismantle some of my armies to make ends meet>every neighbour immediately declare war on me>farms get pillaged, lowering my food input, facing farmer riots>loseAaaaaaaaaaaaaah, that fucking game is brutal.>>549764320Not exactly what I meant, but that'll do. Been a while since I played it anyway, and it's still one of my favourites.
And all this time, I thought I was overfarming since my towns are surrounded by farms, but turns out the AI farmed even more.
Last screenshot for now: you upgrade town size by growing its population and then forking out 2 000 Chinese Shekels to improve it.
>>549769753Go back to play Icarus, you didn't even reach tier 4. If I think you are who I think you are
>>549770392I'm taking a break from Icarus, I accepted a mission to forge iron stuff, but I skipped over iron tech to move on directly to steel, so... time to grind some more experience because otherwise I'd be cancelling two missions in a row.
>stellaris is getting another rework, this time for navy>also huge changes to the economy along with tons of civics, traits and origins getting re-belancedtime to relearn the game again, haha!
>>549770689Do Operations, they give more XP than SIMPL3 missions. And tier 5 soon(tm).
>>549773223I think it was one of these. But sadly, I reached a point where I should move to a new biome, except I utterly HATE moving, so I'm staying in the forest.I don't even know if it's possible to move, I'm afraid of storms destroying my main base while I'm away.Anyway, wrong general. Suffice to say I'm busy with FFXIV, Darktides, and Etherium.
>>549773719>I reached a point where I should move to a new biome,Which Operation? There are very few in which you have to make a base somewhere else. Furthermore bases don't take damage while you are in another biome. And different biomes have different weathers(top right desert may have dust storm while middle bottom starting biome may have a sunny day and so on).>DarktidesDarkdites or Darktide 40k? I bought it at full price and it turns out I don't like it. I thought it would be like Left 4 Dead but with 40k, but it's so melee-centric that I simply don't like it. I want to spam my lasgun and autogun everywhere.
>>549771693>Effects and modifiers that granted jobs per pop have been replaced with static job numbers.this is probably a good thing>All unemployed pops now demote to Civilian (or Maintenance Drone, as appropriate) at the end of the month.unemployment is GONE>Soldiers are now Specialist (or Complex Drone) jobs with 1 Alloy upkeep.nobody's ever using soldiers again>The Arcology Project and districts on Ecumenopoleis now cost alloys instead of mineralsbruh
>>549774331No Operation, just boredom. I need to make a lot of levels quick, so I should move to a different biome to kill everything and get a lot of XP.And Darktides. Sadly the only "real" shooter in Warhammer 40000 is Boltgun, and you don't play an Imperial guard in there but a super strong space marine sternguard veteran. And it's a shame because Darktides got the lasrifle right: one shot and you tear off a leg. What's Darkdites?
>>549774907>What's Darkdites?Darktides*Dunno I thought it was some obscure RTS you were into. Like Etherium, it is in my wishlist but something tells me I will suck dick against the AI too much.
>>549776716>something tells me I will suck dickThat's just your sister talking. Through I'm tempted to try Darklands eventually.
>>549774628>The Arcology Project ... now cost alloys instead of mineralsAlways has been. Restore Relic world costs minerals. The rest is old news.4.3 (beta branch) will rejiggle EVERYTHING all over again.Basically all input output job modifiers will be replaced with job efficiency modifiers. No more upkeep reduction stacking until alloys are pulled from thin air.
>>549771693Wish they'd fuck off and let me enjoy my modded playthroughs in peace.
>>549774628>nobody's ever using soldiers againhow else are you supposed to get massive naval capacity? Anchorages don't seem to cut it.
I wish the Militarist faction approval was based on power projection instead of naval capacity.Increasing your naval capacity should not make them unhappy.
>>549771693Reminds me of the modding scene of Minecraft, in which everyone is trying to catch up with the latest version. Making certain versions have more mods for it than others.Anyway fuck shitllaris
>>549783929>Always has beenno, it cost 20k minerals, just like the restore decision>Basically all input output job modifiers will be replaced with job efficiency modifiers. No more upkeep reduction stacking until alloys are pulled from thin air.this is certainly a good thing, but if this update is anything like the last one, the game will be unplayable
>>549768079>ancient chinaYou got what you asked for.
two more years and stellaris will be goodit will not be jankyit will perform well in lategameit will have all the mods updated and working well together
>>549768079Well, why weren't you raiding other peoples rice paddies and trying to unify the lands?
>>549793689Because I'm an economical player. I tend to build a strong base first, and only get aggressive when I'm confident I can focus on it and not return to the main town to build more palissades.
Lemme get a, uhhhhhhh, militaristic faction. Roman theme. Latin personal and space ship names. And to spice things up, how about some anti-genetic and body modification societal views
>>549795185Daring today, aren't we?
>>549795185How original.>anti-genetic and body modification societal viewsMassively gimping yourself.
>>549795185No, today we're having humans trying to restore earth after the nuclear apocalypse

Our start at the galactic edge is a turtles wet dream
Our eastern chokepoint is occupied by marauders, who promptly introduced my scientist to their barbaric waysThis might seem bad, but that means they'll be an unpassable no mans land for other empires until 2100 or so
I went with Adaptability as my second tradition even though its an objectively shit pickThe one upside? Launching the agenda gives you the next terraforming research as a permanent option. There is practically no way to really steer your research towards the second terraforming tech that let's you terraform tombworlds and pick the worldshaper ascenscion perk. For an RP build like this its both useful and thematic.
