So just take your time and don't worry, let the game's flow come to you and immerse yourself. Read, learn, and feel free to experiment with everything the game has to offer!

The problem you have with a game like BG3 is the more interactivity it gives, the more it becomes apparent when something really obvious and basic that should be there, simply isn't. For me, the game peaks in Act 2 with the Nightsong. Act 3 is a fucking slog and a huge tonal shift. They also completely butchered the lore of the old Baldur’s Gate characters, seeing Sarevok and Viconia done so dirty is rage inducing if you played the previous games.

I don't understand why people say the bard is the perfect main character. First of all, bard's entire design is stupid as fuck and I refuse to play a jolly retard, especially if I'm playing Durge. That's just too much metagaming and I don't want to turn a canon murder hobo into a bard.But also, gameplay-wise too. You cannot inspire yourself so by default it shouldn't be the party face. You'd be missing out on a 1d6 and later 1d8 / 1d10 buff on every check. Wouldn't it make more sense to pick one of the other charisma classes like warlock who has its own 1d10 bonus to skillchecks once per short rest?

Barbarians can even select the feat as early as level 4 because they can Reckless Attack on demand. That being said, the game is easy. Play what you want.

If I had one complaint about BG3 it's that the game feels very rushed. There is very little downtime for the characters plotwise (even if there are no timers). Everything is very tightly compressed gamewise.
