Well, Banner Saga 1 then.I liked a lot about this game. The art style and animation is unique in crpgs, a kind of I don't have the words for it, "80s saturday morning cartoon" or something before animoo, I don't know, I enjoyed it a lot.The game is three things: travelling with your caravan(s) between two different but related stories, making decisions in dialogue, and combat. There seemed to be quite a surprising amount of small decisions that built up into meaningful consequences that both felt real and gave a feeling of multitude. If I were to play a second time, maybe I would see some things always resulting in something else, I don't know for sure, but overall that feeling of multitudes of choices and consequences felt really great on a first playthrough. The lore and setting was cool and not too overwhelming, plus there was a lot of extra that one could read about just by clicking around on the map. But even that just gives you a plain paragraph at most, so all this extra is also not overwhelming if you are a lorechad. Quite well done in that regard. The combat I think has a lot of potential for getting crunchy but you can also on the medium setting (what I played on after getting destroyed initially on hard) just pretty much do what makes sense, though it's still not mindless and those not inclined towards tactics might want to go easiest setting.I'm looking forward to playing BS2 and importing my characters, including my dead ones. I'd say 8/10. Given what I paid on winter sale for the trilogy, easy 9/10 so far.
