Jester is a weird different thing but has its moments. You’ll be an archer with a little magic through early levels and then transition to melee once you start tanking with Stoneskins. Bard make a great user of random powerful weapon categories (E.g. Foebane) because you will melee but can’t get more than one pip. Don’t be afraid to get random different weapons and switch based on the situation. Blade of course wants two weapon style. Special mention to Crom Freyr since Bard benefits a ton from the extra thac0 from 25 strength. Melfs Minute Meteors are awesome on Bard. Offensive Spin plus MMM is money. Skull Trap, Dispel Magic, and Spook are other good examples of spells that really benefit from speedy Bard Level progression. Bard HLAs kick ass. UAI, Improved Bard Song, Spike Traps, Time Stop Traps. Siege of Dragonspear has the Bard Hat to import to BG2, but there is also Vhailor’s Helm once you get UAI. The main weakness of Bard ends up being low Thac0 and APR which is why something like Crom Faeyr and Scarlet Ninja-to tends to be an endgame loadout.
