Reminder that the beginning of the problems that led to everyone getting shelved was Heroes. That's the game that forced the teams due to its very nature, that's the game that really started to bloat the game with multiple campaigns that basically played the same (or were just ass in the case of Team Chaotix but Adventure also had that problem). that's the game that kinda forced Knuckles to be with Sonic all the time for no real reason, that's the game that created Team Dark and brought Shadow back from the dead for marketing purposes, that's the game that just doubled down on Amy's crush on Sonic and flanderized it so people would complain that she's obsessive, that's the game that started the shitty friends argument. 06 might have accelerated the downfall but Heroes laid the groundwork for there to be a hatebase to capitalize on 06's failure.

I have 60 hours in Frontiers, I have 100% the game. I went and collected all the collectables, got all the music vinyls, and S ranked all the Cyberspace levels. I did it all. It was one of the most miserable times I have felt playing Sonic. It felt like a chore, I got all those overworld collectables to find damn near no reward for doing so. I felt empty. I felt bored. This game sucked the life out of me. Its a horseshit unity tech demon masquerading as some epic experience but when you peel back the veneer, youre left looking at an empty hellscape devoid of any flavor or memorable moments
Rewrite Archie but with game/X characters. And when I say X, I mean Cosmo and the Metarex.
