I've talked here about my belief that Chalter 6 will almost certainly be the last, and here's one more piece of "evidence" I'd like to share. The first 3 chapters were released as a triple-pack, at least on Switch, and I'm willing to bet Mob would want to make another one with 4/5/6 for the same full price. Doing a 7th after that would be weird (it could be sold standalone, but it would stand out for not getting that same treatment), and I don't think ANYONE seriously expects 8 or 9, not when there's a Tokyo factory and the Playpark to go to next.

I mean chapter 3 wasn't all that story intensive besides theo's backstory and the hour of joy reveal. Chapter 4 had a veey good story, but the way it was executed left a lot to be desired imo. Like Doey was 100% the best part of 4 since he's probably the most sympathetic character in the game, but the doctor was heavily misused and the prototype's reveal to be Ollie was kinda obvious. All in all I'd still ssy that it edges out 3 in story, but the execution itself was done better in 3 with stuff like the red smoke dreams imo.
Chapter 5 is the only poppy chapter I didn't like.It kind of erased everything that made the other games likeable. Every other character had something unique to them. Chapter 5 felt like they had to copy their previous characters because of bad scheduling or something. Like even Giblets introduction was the same as Doey's and Lilly felt like Mommy number 2.

Wasn't the depth we were in in Chapter 4 more or less presented as the bottom? My issue with chapter 5 is that it doesn't feel like a natural continuation of the story. You fall into a hole after being separated from Kissy and Poppy runs off. Oh wait, here they are, down here too and you're all still friends. And it doesn't feel like the area you're in actually corresponds to what Leith said on the tape or what else we knew about the facility. And the Prototype actually does have more toys working for him, so apparently Catnap and the Doctor weren't his last allies or whatever. And Lily's entire home down there is like, "Why the fuck is this here?". And there's too much downtime where it feels you're just barely doing anything between the first Huggy chase and then his reappearance in the projectors room. And then even after that most of Lily's part is also really slow.

But then Chapter 5 is just more or less another chapter. Honestly, there were so many "go here and do this" objectives that didn't feel like they were connected to anything that Chapter 5 is the first chapter of Poppy Playtime that, to me, felt like it was straight out of Garten of Banban. Even some things in this chapter, like finally revealing the Prototype, killing off Huggy and Kissy, and seemingly revealing that the orphans were actually safely evacuated the whole time, felt finale-worthy, but then it just... wasn't the finale. Because of reasons. The showdown with the Prototype on the train would've been fine as the final boss fight with him. Maybe give Poppy something to do during the fight to really tie everything together. Put some sort of survival mechanic like "Keep him busy while Giblet and I load up the Super Whammy Toy Cannon!" and then she blasts the shit out of the Prototype, or something. But yeah. This really should've been the last chapter. Because at this point, what's even left to do? Probably one more villainous monologue from the Prototype, an even-more-finaller showdown with him, and then an epilogue cut scene. Is that really enough for a whole 'nother chapter?
Honestly when chapter 3 came out I was amazed by how much improvement there was, and I was genuinely hopeful for the future of the game, unfortunately it's just been a series of disappointments since then
