The gameplay loop evidently seems to be working your way up to where you can tackle Cryo Archive, and then you just do over and over again because your vault and even your faction progress resets each season(assuming this means not only upgrades but story “missions” as well). The problem is that there doesn’t seem to be a clearly defined end point compared to Destiny where you work your way up to get better gear and then take it easy until you start at a new floor with the latest expansion. Marathon feels comparatively shallow, or like it’s just another game mode to something like CoD, Division or Battlefield that has a traditional single and multiplayer offerings. But that fully fledged game doesn’t exist, so you just have to either hope that future seasons provide a lot of content to keep you going or that Bungie actually makes something Destiny related that at least doesn’t suck.

He puts impenetrable bubble shield around himself that heals them to max HP, if they get hurt enough or feel threatened. Only weapons with Anti-Barrier capabilities were able to break it, hence them switching to that handcannon (Eriana's Vow)

Ok, let us look at this mathematically.Steam had an alltime high of 88k concurrent players, lets be generous and round it up to 100k sales and no refunds.If PC is the main platforn that means xbox and ps each have less players than it. Even if bungie would consider steam the main platform due to a couple hundred extra players/sales, it would still leave the total sales at about 300k, if we are generous.They celebrated the 400k discord users landmark, so the actual sales are lower than that. It all lines up.
D2 is fucked, there's no resuscitation you can implement to ever get it back to 150k on steam. The reputation of the game is too tainted by years of horrible decisions. So rename the game. Title change like overwatch did, make D2 Destiny:Legends. Change the player base models to be less cartoony and more like D1. Taller titans with realistic armor proportions, no more overt fantasy stypes, no more oversized pauldrons. Make warlocks less gay, more armor, more coats. Hunters need symetry and less random bullshit hanging off of them. Armor should bw designed first with function in mind, and practicality, fashion ahould be the last consideration. Bring back distinct differences in the armor between the sexes. Character creator should say Male/Female. Go back to the effort of the D1 lighting and effects. Get rid of the power delta system. Enemy difficulty should scale their damage, fire rate, accuracy, evasiveness, and aggression, not their health and numbers. All new ships and sparrows should follow the new realistic art direction. Keep all old gear in the game, eververse and legacy content only. All new content only drops the new style. All pieces of armor in the new style should fit together as close to seamlessly as possible like D1. Legacy content allows legacy builds. New content uses a new ability system. Adclear ability spam is gone. Abilities do unique things now instead of just kill enemies in one of 5 colors. No damage resist or healing abilities/effects except for every subclass. Titan gets void overshield, warlock gets devour, hunter gets invis. Campaign is the guardian is captain of the dreadnought and leaves sol to put an end to the real darkness. Dreadnought helm is a social space. Dreadnought proper is a patrol zone, expanded upon, you explore to unlock functions for the dreadnought and develop taken subclass.
