Then he has tools like a 10 year long invuln with Omnislash and a stun and he's just gonna be the better choice. The last portions of the game have dungeons where you need 2 and 3 separate parties, which is cancer. The game levels up the party members you don't use anyway, so even if you are set on only one party, it's not bad in that way. The only thing that's missing is AP to unlock additional abilities for them. It's bad because you have to constantly re-equip your 2nd and 3rd party and it's super fucking annoying. Also, the puzzles that involve switching between parties can get bugged and there is one area that had me stumped because I was unknowingly walking through a part that was not intended to be walked through, causing me to be unable to solve the puzzle. There was another time when 3 parties were meant to be in 3 separate "time layers" of one dungeon, but the game bugged and put 2 of the parties in the same layer so I had to teleport out and reset it. There is also a Ultimecia's Tower which requires a full Magic party, but Magic based characters have the fewest AP unlocks, so it's fine, and at that point the shop sells Reflect rings which pretty much beats the tower on its own. Also, Dragoons are cool, but if they are in the air in their Jump ability when a boss does something non-standard (like run away or spawn another enemy/"phase" in the same battle) the game will sometimes just crash and you'll have to restart from your last save. Luckily, this only really happens on boss battles where a save point immediately precedes it.
