Mirage never felt like a bodyguard before, he just stood 20 meters away from any fight and plinked people. The interplay between her 1 and 2 were her most interesting aspect, as she normally had melee autos that you could turn into ranged with 2, and had the choice between using both at once and getting super boosted auto attacks, or using 2 alone for the slow and AOE. In order for her to fit the melee auto attack role in Deadlock they could give the 1 the effects of her passive as an exclusive effect that only works when 2 isnt active, so you get the choice between melee + lifesteal, range + CC&AOE or range + damage.

Slows guarantee that even a Geist with Enduring Speed and Stamina Mastery is not going to be able to follow you for long, and probably forces her to buy Phantom Strike to ult you.Dispel Magic blocks her current drain, and Silence Wave can stop her trying to get close enough to ult you and might net you a kill if she tries anyway. Use escape abilities if you have them (or a warp stone if you don't) and weave through cover and around corners. Her drain only lasts a maximum of around 6 seconds assuming she buys duration extenders, and blocking it for even a second or two is a significant DPS loss for her.
