If you're using Claude Sonnet 4.6 and open router I would highly recommend enabling context caching and the extended cache timer and then increasing your context size a bunch. You'll also want to lock to one provider as well but honestly it's a fucking game changer. Like I've had 60k token rps recently with hundreds of posts and it's like two cents per post. It's given me room to construct actual systematic solo roleplays where I can write entire rule systems in the lorebooks and it will actually just use them for hours throughout the RP. The largest context I've gotten to was 88k so far and it was still fine. I could ask it about my first posts and it would remember still.

The basic jist is that instead of sending the entire chat every single message you reserve cache at the provider and it stores your chat history there. As long as you don't change your prompt settings of the chat history it can just use the chat history you have and append to it with the new message which means you can store a fuck ton of tokens and only actually pay for the 300 or whatever that the response and your post adds to it.
