I like the Recoilless more for bugs, since the Recoilless does Bile Titans, and spore spewers/shriekers a bit better, and the reload fits the pace of bugs a lot more, I think. Niether is strictly better than the other. I think, gun to my head, I'd say the Recoilless is better more often, but the conditions of how I play usually favor the Quasar.

I will be a unique snowflake and say there is nuance in the bitching about arrowhead's "balance changes". There will be people who say a change makes the game too easy, or too hard, but I tend to complain that the changes make the game less fun to play. Challenge is fun. Hulk surge, impaler surge, and titan surge are all fun challenges to fight. Handicapping strategies like status effect damage and build up is not a challenge. It is added tedium and a limitation to player agency and creativity. I don't want to be forced to take the eruptor, talon, giganigga nade, recoilless loadout on every mission because everything else has been made bad.Like right now, I am trying to level the incen breaker and it fucking sucks to use. The fire is harder to apply, the pellets do fuck all damage, and the ammo economy is horrible. It is not a fun challenge to use this weapon and is instead self inflicted CBT to use it. Quasar also has the gimmick where you can call down a second one when defending big defense oriented objectives and you can juggle the two of them to effectively halve the overall cooldown. You can't do that trick very often but the quasar can legitimately throw a ton of AT firepower down range when you can juggle dual quasars. The quasar also opens up opportunities to run backpacks, which can enable a lot of plays.
