I finished Dimension Totsu Lovers.Final verdict: Crystalia is back. My belief is fully restored after the botch job that was Crack Trick. Probably the best VN I've read this year.Girls: Suisen > Katan > Sakura > SophiaRoutes: Katan > Grand > Sakura > Sophia > SuisenGrand route loses to Katan route because I more or less guessed the identity of the last boss way ahead of time, which deadened the surprise factor. If that hadn't happened, it would have been an easy #1.Good parts: the music is good and the art is great. I even found myself enjoying Suisen's freakishly inhuman waist, because it was at least kept consistent. The story was smart about tying up loose ends, even though it might not have been until the very end. I appreciated the full breadth of solutions to problems in routes; even though Crystalia is known for its fight scenes, the story was not shy about skipping them if it made sense.Bad parts: The H-scenes, hands down. The H-scenes were often too short, too repetitive, and every single one was essentially The Author's Barely Disguised Fetish. Some of them were fappable and had fun bits of spice in them, but on the whole they were not good. Also, the script did a lot of unnecessary repetition, especially considering that it had a glossary. Did you know that Dance Notes pushes anything you touch with it 5 meters away? Gee, no, game, I forgot; it had only been 3 minutes since you reminded me. Pot of Greed-ass line.

The romance between Katan and the MC was also novel compared to a million teenager romance stories before it, considering that the last third of the route was with them as a long-term married couple. Also it has the best character in the game in the route (pic related.) I also appreciate that they took their stand against everyone and won despite having essentially no support from the rest of the cast. Compare this to a route like Sophia's, where all of a sudden Enju gets excommunicated from the family due to something that happened offscreen and the threat of the Houzuki family is taken off of the table for free.

After they escape and make friends with System it devolves into some campy ass romcom and just made taigoku look like a joke. Their assault on the academy is done at breakneck pace to first retrieve the indigo heart from sakura(this fight was ok to show op enju had become) but then they attack the academy, take out sophia instantly while some sad hopeful music is playing that made the whole scene difficult to take seriously. The magicians are never brought up again, Enju and Katan flee even though they are god mode for...reasons? Then they come back, start their own company to destroy the black train. What about enjus orange heart? And they know the black train just wants to leave and if it leaves it will take all the monsters with it, so why are they trying to destroy it yet in the true route they try to repair it?

They're individually powerful, but they have no resources. Fleeing lets them build the necessary societal power to introduce a third faction without being persecuted for assaulting the "Academy".
