Don't care about this game anymore. They don't care about space. They don't care to fix the wrong star sizes. They don't care to explain how the terrestrial planets of Stanton have multiple rounded moons each. They don't care to make the scale sensible so clouds don't look retarded from orbit. They don't care to make flight enjoyable. They don't care to retcon the Star Wars alien races out. Guess I'm just waiting for Verse Project to be playable.

Okay then, how the hell do you solve the multi-crew dilemma? Make multii-crew ships useful without making light fighters useless or vice versa.
Since all the PvP nerds made their own combat ship tier list, I made this one for you guys (PvP or PvE is up to you) https://tiermaker.com/create/scam-citizens-best-combat-ships-of-2025-17765217Let me know if I missed a ship.

>>1558502I know SC will never be complete these indie games never have a shot in hell of ever being complete. Seems like every other week there's a space indie game that will do all this awesome stuff and they never get completed or have 1.0 slapped on it with most of the promised features missing. The only real complete one is really Space Engineers and that feels like Minecraft more than anything. As tired as the saying is, Star Citizen does feel great to play. No I don't mean the shitty server issues or the UI not working but just the planets, the ship interiors and being able to go from all of that to one another assuming the server doesn't blow your ship up, is really unparalleled in my opinion. Yes I know you can do the same in Space Engineers but it has nowhere near the presentation of Star Citizen.

>>1558601>meaningful conversation about game design.>I'm gonna unicum in your mouth. Here is why you're retarded: In Wot lights have better view range than all other classes, in SC, that would simply translate into a small scout ship having a stronger radar with better range than a capital class radar, this is a simple example of why using Wot as an example of game design for SC makes you a braindead retard.
>>1558605nah, the lowest CIG will go for game packages will probably be like $20, and that'll just get you a shitty armor set and one FPS gun, and the ability to log in. lack of players willing to transport FPS only starters that have a whopping 6k uec will mean they'll just fuck around for a while and quit

>>1558874SC already has more classes than wot. For example in Wot terrain matters just as much if not more than the tank you are playing. A light tank vs a heavy in himmelsdorf vs prok are two completely different scenarios, whereas in all SC spaceships have 6º of freedom, making it something completely different. SC classes would be something closer to World of Warships than Wot. But then again in Wow Carriers are support vessels, whereas in SC carriers are the main ships in a fleet.
Anybody know how the hell the Polaris map globe thing is supposed to work in the future? It looks too small to show anything in detail.
>>1558918Probably something akin to the map app in the mobi-glas, but on a much larger scale and other people can interact with it.

Even AC isn't worth playing because the game doesn't have a finished flight model.
>>1558922im looking at the pledge site and the retaliator only has turrets? i thought it was a missle boat, it even has missiles in the promo pic. no missle hardpoint listed though.

>>1558934there is nothing wrong with shooting everything on sight in Pyro, whether we are in a buggy alpha or years after release.
>>1558953idk how they're doing it on the official site, on erkul they're under the modules section alongside the cargo bays. it may be that they decided the retaliator doesn't come with any modules and you have to buy them after the fact, which would be fucking funny because the front torp bay costs 1.8 mil and the rear costs 800k, before you consider the cost of loading them with size 9 torps which is another 1.8 mil for six, for a total of 4.4 mil, or more than half of the cost of the ship itselfthe cargo modules are 470k and 450k to have less shields and cargo than an MSR, but four more size 3s if you have five retards to man all the turrets for you
>>1558960Sure, but it doesn't make you skilled and it is a complete waste of time. You can be technically correct and still retarded. If you actually PvP you're in AC, but most of you are shit and get stomped in AC by the nolifer regulars.
>>1558962That's not including how much of a pain it is to load/unload the rear cargo with how its designed, I swear this thing is designed for CBT enthusiasts. Can't even get an ARGO through the doors or docking port.
>>1558937>>1558962Originally the Retaliator was the Retaliator Bomber which included the torpedo bays, then they made it modular so there's multiple bays to choose from. Now the Retaliator is sold at a cheaper base price but without any modules and you can buy the modules as a standalone pledge or through ingame currency. If the cargo module was a little wider it'd actually be a pretty nice ship because it's a brick shithouse of durability and you'd be able to fit an actual ground vehicle into it that would accomodate most/all crew for exploration or bunker running and still have 4 giant fuck you torpedoes.
>>1558975the only things it really has over an MSR as a cargo runner are 4 more guns, 4x the HP, and the shield is a bubble so it kinda has more HP than the MSR even though the MSR has a large.even then, it's retarded because they did the "lol, six size 2s" thing with it so the shields are fucking impossible to power.

>>1558991Yeah in its current state there's basically no reason to run it. They'd need to upsize all the guns to size 4 and add another power plant to even make it a consideration to bring.
>>1558953The torpedo tubes are a separate module, you have to pay for those with real monies from the rsi store.
>>1558998You can buy them ingame, they're just extremely expensive.

>>1558997i don't think better powerplants would save it, the current maximum is 30 bars of power and it gets to 26 already. it doesn't have enough maximum weapons power to fully power TEN s3 energy weapons, nevermind making them size fours, and needing a minimum of 18 power to power the shields fully is fucking retarded and i don't know why they can't see that for the ret and deemer.i legitimately cannot find a line to follow the logic of their ship design on most ships, other than "uhhhhh we'll completely fuck it up for now and fix it later, lol"

>>1559013That image tells me why your posts are so aggressive: You are emotionally invested into this game. You type like a child throwing a tamper tantrum.
>>1559023>deflection and personal attacks>nothing to respond to the reality that no matter what roberts says, it's pretty much inevitable that planned features are going to get cut at this pointi genuinely don't care whether this game lives or dies at this point, i mainly only play it because my friend enjoys playing it, and we're frequently mutually frustrated by it. at the end of the day, planned features are absolutely going to get axed, if this team ever gets its shit together well enough to make the PU into a halfway viable product for any group of people beyond the autists that bought into roberts' fantasies in the first place. maybe, MAYBE sq42 finishing will turn things around, but frankly, with how poorly that's been going, i'd say it's pretty likely we see a lot of resignations once that's out the door and they just lose another giant chunk of people that know what the fuck is actually going on with the game, only to replace them with yet more people that need to be brought up to speed.
>>1559024>acuse others of deflection and personal attacks>after telling everyone they are "coping" because no NPC crewslow verbal iq>i genuinely don't care whether this game lives or dies at this pointThen why do you waste your time posting in this thread?
>>1559025>telling everyone they were copingat this point, it IS cope to rely on unreleased features, especially on CIG's side of things because they seem willing to reboot shit at any time. guns have been rebalanced like, four or five times that i recall now, probably more, the flight system has been redone two or three times (jesus FUCK that hover mode thing was retarded) and is liable to change again, even their market ideas seem to change constantly. they very much seem to lack for someone who has any idea what things -should- be like to tell them when something is done.and i'm coping just as much as anyone else when i say "hey, maybe that ship will get unfucked in the future" or "well that system is mildly jank right now but it could be neat">Then why do you waste your time posting in this thread?i don't care about whether the train does or doesn't crash, i'm just going to watch it.
>>1558983Dude really did bust in the thread true to form like the Kool aid man
>>1559025>Then why do you waste your time posting in this thread? It's like watching webms of jeets being hit by trains. I have no say or control over the rate at which the train moves, or whether or not someone will die as a result. But I do still enjoy the spectacle of seeing the human equivalent of a crash test dummy be subjected to the blunt force trauma of a locomotive. It's meditative in a sick kind of way. Because by witnessing the folly of other men, I am able to come to terms with the fact that most bad things in this life happen for no good reason. Star Citizen's success (or failure) is completely out of my hands. And I'm okay with that.

>>1558501Agreed, give Sean Murray a break. He's an insecure introvert who didn't have the back bone to say no. At least he redeemed himself later down the line.
>>1558502Admittedly it's weird for the team to not work on spaceflight and space related things since they are so obviously unfinished and broken. I don't agree with all of your OCD shit but I don't think anything outside of space stuff should be worked on, manage the fucking scope so we can actually play
>>1558510Make them have completely different size categories.Eg. Fighters can only damage fighters, large ships can't hit fighters reliably. You can even do it by matching armor levels gun size. Eg. Large ships can only be damaged by S5 and above, medium S4 and above, capitals by S7 and above.. etc. Then ships of certain sizes in imaginary fleet fight will focus on ships that their size and and to some extent role enables and ignore the rest.

It's guns are lacklustre.Biggest problem she has is the lack of any SCU of cargo, cant even really bring one in outside of grid. So you cant really loot efficiently either. So in my opinnion she is a great relay ship - with Cutter being the obvious Pyro ship with the big brother Cutlass and Mommy Corsair being the runners up. Corsair is fat - slow and underarmed for solo play while cutlass is too obviously wrong scale and interior is very barebones (quite utilitarian though). So herald is the greatest relay ship and instead Cutter is the best pyro ship.Naturally other manufacturers are out of the question in any serious discussion.

>>1561855So they just created an nearly infinite source of eggs to end the one fun gameplay loop once and for all?
>>1561853Yes, but back then iirc that method wasn't a thing and the mule duping was both relatively fine for profit and the most fun i've had doing anything group related in the game.
>>1561857Never did it, but it reminds me of Gta Online in the ps3 days where you would dupe cars to make money. Always fun with friends.
>>1561860For us, it was the group effort of efficiently unloading the boxes off a mule into an A2 going back and forth while a couple of us spawn new mules, and then fighting randoms at scrapyards in order to sell them. Even though the bug is back, with the introduction of Freight elevators and 4.0 just being unstable altogether, it seems that I won't get to do the same.
>>1561856Seems like it. But since the price was up at one point, it might be profitable trading good every now and then. SC-trade tools dont show where you can buy it for some reason - but it shows the price is 23k/scu
>>1561848would this work with the new car that has a cargo grid?
>>1561865>>1561869Used to spend time in the PU in the ERT golden days hunting for eggs, but honestly now i dont feel like playing it anymore.
>>1561875or all ships
>>1561875>>1561877The bug only dupes items attached to a ship/vehicle's item ports, not cargo grids. Item ports, meaning things like ship and component hardpoints, weapon racks. That's why the Mule is used for duping with this exploit, because from my understanding, it's the only vehicle that has item ports that can hold handheld boxes and other small items, and It's also very fast to claim through the ASOP terminals.I'm aware that duping ship weapons and components has existed onwards from 3.18, but the FPS weapon/small box duping was specifically fixed by CIG in the past because of the money making opportunities.
>>1561898There are weapon racks and some sort of trophy racks on some ships, wont those work too for something?
>>1561902It'll work on any ship that has weapon racks, though I'm not sure about trophy racks, never tried myself.
>>1561898Does that work for shit like the Hornet ball turret in its special category?
>>1561920I believe it does, yea.
>>1561925I don't think I'd call that a bug, more like an exploitable part of the insurance system. If you get soft deathed and someone salvaged the weapons/turrets from your fighter, it would require that insurance claiming brings out a fresh ship with none of those components.Obviously we could have insurance claims only bring back stock ships - which I think is the plan - and that will change things a lot.
>>1561926that's the basic insurance plan, they've talked about letting you insure the components for more of a cost, too. add it to the pile of "shit that CIG has talked about" though, until we see actual implementation.
>>1561926Pretty much agree, but now they are in an awkward position where you can't get value off of salvaging components/weapons because they can be easily duped due to this. But at the same time, loosing your ship can happen due to a variety of bullshit, so they'd have to leave it in for now at the detriment of the salvage gameloop. I can see them fixing the mule duping item ports again, but ship weapons/component duping might be around for a while longer.
>>1561925Finally, a reason to own a Retaliator Bomber.
>>1561933I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. On one hand, insurance claiming a ship is basically a non issue and makes death and explosions trivial. I'd like to see it "matter" without being overly punishing at the same time. Something like how when you die, you lose all your FPS gear. Guns and components would have to be more readily available and cheaper for this to work, and obviously we've gone in a different direction. That would could mean stock loadouts could matter significantly more though. In reality, we're all playing such a buggy piece of shit that anything that punishes death too much is going to suck, and suck a lot. >>1561928I agree, and I try not to put stock in any of Chris Roberts and Co. "yeah that'll totally be in the game" statements until they actually arrive. It was funny to see people making recommendations in global chat a few months ago on which quantum drive someone should buy *now* because "in Pyro you'll want that".
>>1561986> insurance claiming a ship is basically a non issue and makes death and explosions trivialI agree with most of what you said, but here is the thing: If you're waging in PVP or PVE, being sent back to spawn is punishment enough with our current system. People say it's meaningless but that is only because there is nothing to do in the game. If you are attacking a playerbase, and you die, you are out of combat for quite a while, and in any game that is punishment enough, SC is no different. Imho being out of combat for the 10 minutes it takes you to get back to the location is punishment enough, as a matter of fact, if you or your enemy have anything valuable to defend, being sent back to spawn is a worse punishment possible, because odds are you will not get anything back because you lost the fight, whether it's pve or pvp.>In reality, we're all playing such a buggy piece of shit that anything that punishes death too much is going to suck, and suck a lot.Even if there were no bugs, the distances between spawns and combat points are so large that it would be fine the way it is. Being sent to New Babbage mid combat is a worse punishment than the insurance money or the ship upgrade money because in any meaning full setting you are going to have a lot more UEC at stake. (Cargo, wtv)>That would could mean stock loadouts could matter significantly more though. If this happens people will just stop upgrading anything except QTdrive, i know i would, it just wouldn't be worth the time or money if you can easily make a mistake or crash into a planet and lose it all. Upgrades would lose all meaning simply because nobody would use them, and stock ships as they are now are already good enough. >I try not to put stock in any of Chris Roberts and Co. statements until they actually arriveSame, until it's in the PU and well implemented (not bug, but gameplay wise) it's all talk.
>>1561986>It was funny to see people making recommendations in global chat a few months ago on which quantum drive someone should buy *now* because "in Pyro you'll want that".considering i take long and frequent breaks from this game i'm not surprised i missed that, but still funny given the context that pyro came with a full wipe.
Man Pyro isn't even big enough for it to matter. Travel distances and times are still pretty short, and there are still a lot of places to refuel. I was really hoping logistics were going to be a serious challenge in Pyro.Strongly favoring ships with big quant tanks, efficient drives, effectively mandatory in-flight refueling for operating with combat oriented ships in large parts of the system, etc.Refuel, repair, and reararm gameplay should be almost mandatory in Pyro. Right now it's just Stanton with rust and bad comms.
The MPUV-T would have been really useful if they didn't fuck up the thruster tuning. It should be able to fly around in 1G with 16SCU for fuck's sake. They also need to reduce the animation time on the ATLS it is infuriating.
>>1563195drawn out animations in general are obnoxious in this game. you're getting shot and your character is taking a moment to laboriously drag his fat middle aged ass up the cockpit ladder and stopping to heave a tired sigh at the top before carefully stepping down into the seat.
>>1563218and to think many animations were sped up from what they used to be before CIG started playing around with FPS shit more. i want to kill myself every time i accidentally touch one of the bunk beds on my taurus and get locked into a three hour long animation of climbing into bed, then another two hours getting back out.
>saltemike: NOOO YOU CANT DUPE ITEMS! YOU HAVE TO DO THE CONTESTED ZONES OR BUY THEM FROM MEEE! STOPPPP!!!I will always dupe items and high tier shit and give them out for free and saturate the market. Fuck space dads.
>>1563218Also why the fuck can't I climb up and down a ladder like in every game since 2006? Why do I go the whole way up the ladder in one animation or down the ladder without control. Why is there an animation to walk up to the fucking ladder? Why arent there workable fucking ladders. Fucking dumbass animators and artists run this faggot game.
>>1563324some ladders like the C2's are proper ladders, but they're kinda the exception
god damn the retarded apes that make this piece of shit game to hell
>>1561898So many regressions in development that don't make any sense, they ruined the c2 a few patches back by adding some retarded slant and fucking up the gear and ramp alignment with the ground it keeps bouncing around. All these years and the ships still feel like they are made out of Styrofoam.I am hoping now that server meshing is out that they start focusing on making the mission system and PVE related content more enjoyable along with quality of life updates like squashing all the server side related issues. It seems like they are going in favor of low hanging fruit and focusing on simple pvp related aspects without adding anything substantial even to the PVP content. The flight model at the core of the game is a convoluted mess, I don't like the direction the game's been headed in these past few years.
>>1563397>server meshing>out of the wayRetard.
>>1563401How foolish of him not to realise that after 12 years CIG will simply move the goalposts with the "this isn't REAL server meshing, it's tier 0 static meshing!" cope.
>move out of port tressler and microtech>enemys start spawning normally and missions workSo Microtech is where everyone is and that's why nothing ever works.

What can be done with this? What happens if you tow an NPC ship or an abandoned player ship to your hangar (if you can even do such a thing)? Also whats the biggest ship type it can pull?
>>1563473It IS out anon, don't kid yourself. It's a live service game using "alpha" as a cover, similar to Tarkov and every other game that's been taking your money and giving you a product for years.
>>1563631Off the top of my head, I believe it can either pull up to a hammerhead or pull whatever has less mass than a hammerhead while in space and pull notably lighter ships in a gravitational field. You can do unverified cleanup missions and just pull the ship far enough to clear the contract instead of needing to properly salvage it. Attempting to tow a ship can result in a crime stat and the best way to avoid that is to enter the pilot seat and disable shields IIRC, I think it works on the same logic as approved salvage. There's no practical purpose for it currently since the gameplay loop is unimplemented but the "design intent" is that you can do general NPC towing missions or tow trespassing player ships in exchange for fees.
>>1563631You can't store the ship and it you land the stolen ship in a non persistent hanger it will disappear eventually. You can however put it into your persistent home hanger and it will stay there forever.
4.0 has to be the worst patch ever. The game is nigh unplayable.
>>1563756No no, everyone's on Christmas break anon they will fix it all I swear

Assuming player selling orders/trade would be a thing what ship would be ideal to drag goods through some hostile territory? Do you need something crazy fast/low cargo like a 315p or would a C1 pull it off better? Nothing massive but the more cargo/the faster it is the better.

>>1565451We don't know how the core mechanics of large scale pvp and territory control will work, but i would go with>>1565478 or an Ironclad if it's any good.
My friend is trying hard to shill this game to me, and says I can buy the 45$ Auroa pack and just "earn a new ship like in ELITE"
>>1565552Buy the Mustang pack.>says I can buy the 45$ Auroa pack and just "earn a new ship like in ELITE"1st thing you should do is ask why your friend wants to buy this buggy pos, then if he says just to fuck around with you decide whether you want to buy or not.
>>1565552he should be paying you to play this buggy mess of a game
>>1565478Corvettes are immune to QT snare/damp?>>1565451If the MSR gets revisited and stops being dogshit (gets actual hull HP and the ability to slave turrets, fixed and gimbal) that might be the one. Top nav speed actually exceeds both the cutlass and the C1 along with the guardian QI which is impressive (only antares/mantis can catch it), despite being ridiculously overpriced.
>>1565584if you want to outrun snares, the only ships with cargo faster than a Mantis is probably the avenger titan and the 300 series
>>1565588Yeah but thats low cargo (315p is actually the best here)
>>1565595if you're worried about being snared, the mantis is the only one that can drag you out of quantum, so it's the only one you need to worry about outrunning if you play paranoid enough.
>>1565604doesn't the new guardian have a dampener variant?
>>1565609the guardian qi, scorpius antares and cutlass blue can only prevent you from going to nav mode, it can't drag you out of a qt jump
whats a fun ship I can replace the lightning with? I was thinking of the Mole or Prospector since I usually play with my brother.
>>1565632Why do you want to replace the lightning? If anything get rid of that monstrous Reclaimer.
>>1565632i'd probably toss the intrepid or cutter if anything, lightning's better gunned and shielded than both and neither has enough SCU for most introductory hauling missions, so cargo is barely a consideration for either ship
>>1565584>Corvettes are immune to QT snare/damp?Polaris has PDC. If anything scratches it, automated turrets will dismantle it. Doesn't matter if it's a person on the ground or a stations turrets. Solo polaris owners are basically operating on cheat mode right now.
What's the most photogenic ship in SC?
I hope they give us beam weapons to use, like what the vanduul had in the sq42 trailer.
>>1565728>>1565844I want to get rid of F8c because I find myself not using it that much and use the Corsair more for bounty hunting and Cutter / Intrepid just for just travel / bunkers.
>>1565943Already have one.>https://starcitizen.tools/Idris-K>The Aegis Idris-K is an aftermarket special edition of the Idris-P that features additional equipments tailored to dealing with the swarm threat of carrier-type ships. >>1564369They've run out of money, are firing employees left and right almost every month, have a shrink in funding for the first year when expecting growth, have been overspending expecting growth and the game is the biggest shit heap it's ever been. I expect more dev firing, squadron42 pushed out in a buggy barely playable state and the PU rushed to 1.0 in an even worse state than squadron ie not playable at all. Then Chris will come out begging for his new game after successfully launching sq42 and sc! Soulsinger!
>>1565632There's not too much in the way of "fun" at that price point, there's nothing particularly quirky that stands out. You can melt it and buy the Paladin right now which is the same price so you wouldn't need to move money around and the loaner for the Paladin is the Redeemer which is a gunship with a 2SCU cargo grid (great for bunkers) and plays well enough with 2 people. Alternatively if you're looking at fighters specifically you can do the Hurricane or Scorpius both of which need two people to properly function or the Vanguard Harbinger which is a 1-2 person heavy fighter/bomber with an interior, though you'll need to swap out the rocket pods on top with actual size 3 weapons for your gunner to contribute.

>>1565632Melt HoverquadMelt Fury LXMelt IntrepidMelt CorsairMelt ReclaimerUpgrade Cutter to a Rambler for more fuel and amenities like the Intrepid, with the added bonus you don't fall out of your ship during quantum. Get a Cutlass black or Zeus so your bro can man a turret and you have a cargo hauler. If you don't like F8C then get a Guardian or Buccaneer. Save the rest of your store credit for when the Arrastra comes out and you can mine and refine with your bro. Personally I wouldn't give CIG anymore money and if you can you should try and earn ships in game. Also Cutter Rambler is perfection and is all I need. Fuck you Chris Roberts you project destroying ass rammer.
>have buccaneer>buy tana>discover they have fully interchangeable components>each one has half military parts with no overlap>one full set of military class components for whichever ship I prefer to useit's like it was meant to be. >>1566087>Derek smart was rightBased
>>1565552he's not incorrect, you can do that. However these other anons are correct in saying the game is a frustrating buggy disaster at times.IMO, its worth the hassle, for what It does deliver but your mileage may vary.Mustang is better than aurora, auroras is the most basic shitbox in the game. If you do decide to buy it and play with your friend it would serve you IMMENSELY to get his $51 pack instead, a far better ship than either of the starter options. And it would serve you better to still to then upgrade that to an Avenger titan for a Further $10, which is the first actual all around solid ship that you'll never grow out of.
>>1566338i'd make the argument for the nomad, the 28 SCU cargo gives it the ability to take on two hauling missions or do minor cargo running pretty easily and three size 3 guns + three s1 shields is a reasonable loadout for a ship of its size. pretty good tractor on it too.
>>1566338Something you can also do is just bum a ship off global chat and store it in your persistent hangar until its inevitable bug related death. Sure there will inevitably come a day where you can't insurance fraud everything but that's years away still. I have a friend who just started and he's had my Medical Terrapin and F8C sitting in his hangar for almost 2 weeks.

The development itself is profitable. Thats the problem with SC. The incentive is to actually feature creep, alter and delay.
Post some pretty webums
This shit was supposed to have the same alpha as a p6 (on paper) but it used to not be able to kill medium armor npc's in the head. Does it work now? AoE seems fun.
>>1566092>>1566092The pulse and quad were from some random referrals. I was thinking of just upgrading Cutter to a Rambler but that air conditioning block on top ruins it. I always have a goal each time I comeback and play and that is to buy the Cutlass Black or light ships like the Tana.
>>1566792You can melt the intrepid or cutter and CCU the other into a cutlass black at no cost or for $5 depending on what you paid/melt. Just make sure you don't melt your game package. This is assuming you want the ship permanently into your fleet. If you're just looking to get some ships ingame until the next wipe it's piss easy right now since you have a reclaimer that can pull in 1.5m credits every ~50 minutes right out of the box without needing to gain rep or anything.
Considering melting my Corsair and Liberator for a Zeus MR and Perseus.Corsair is gimped now and outperformed in every way by the Connie, and it's enough of a pain to use that I've been flying my 325 WAY more often for bounties/merc contracts/bunkers. Now that Pyro is here, it's obvious that 'long range' ships don't have nearly as much benefit as I had thought they would. You don't need an exploration ship for anything, they offer nothing.Same for the Liberator. I thought it would be this huge value add utility ship for.l moving small craft between system and around Pyro and it could be used as a mobile base and equipped with different small utility ships for group play. Now it seeks pointless.Zeus would be a more effect on be bounty hunting ship, and the Perseus looks perfect for 3-4 people destroy Connie - > Polaris size enemies. Corsair cannot kill a Polaris, DPS can't even get the shields down. I hammed one in the ass for 15 straight minutes in AC freelight.
>>1566821do you still not know you are not suposed to buy ships based on the current meta because the meta changes every month?
>>1566821Ship packages are not content. You are donating money to a game so it can continue development, not unlocking DLC. Don't worry about balance. Don't worry about buying ship packages. I guarantee the money you spend will not be worth the fantasy of whatever you imagine you will use these ships for. If you want to play around with a perseus or whatever, wait until it is added to the game and ask someone if you can help them crew it.
>>1566805I don't want to ccu to a Cutty Black, it's always my ship to grind because for some reason I have that white and gold paint. I'm still messing around the intrepid and it's been pretty fun to fly.Iono mayne but starter ships are just fun to me. I actually miss my Syulen.
>>1566821>perseus>zeus mr2 of the worst ships you could choose right now. We don't even know if they're going to be good and the perseus is not soloable. Not to mention the zeus is one of the slowest ships I've seen in the game, literal sitting target.
>>1566538
>>1566805>>1566866This anon is correct. You should not be spending money on something because it's good or because it fills out some sort niche in your fleet. Perhaps in the future when the game is actually "done" you can start looking at ships with that lens but everything currently is so volatile not just at a balance standpoint but at a core game standpoint where entire loops may simply not exist in the final game and the ships they created and sold for that loop will be functionally useless. If you really want to fuck around with ships in this game and you're confident that you're going to stick around for at least 2 years I'd recommend just buying store credit from the gray market on the cheap and using that to buy any ship that catches your fancy and then when you get bored, just melt it and grab another ship. For <$300 you can buy $500 worth of store credit which will get you access to every ship not listed in this image and you can just melt the ship the next day and get something different.>but $300 is a lot of money!Sure it can be, but to contextualize it, that's the price of 2 years worth of MMO subscription costs (not including any expansions you need to buy) or 2 "Deluxe edition" AAA games and 1 standard edition "AAA" game. You honestly don't even need to spend anything more than the $40 starter package because you can just bum ships from other players (which is what I recommend 99% of players do) who are more than happy to have an excuse to bring out some ship that has been collecting dust from their $3k worth of ships they don't even use.
>>1566889Well that's about 90 minutes of grind with the Reclaimer for the cutlass black and 120 minutes for the Syulen so you're good to go homie.
How are the Tali and Eclipse in 4.0?
>>1566906Nice, very nice. All shitposting aside I really hope this game sees a polished release in the near future
>>1566925Retaliator is probably one of the most worthless ships in the game due to the health and shield change + PDC additions to the game and I can't comment on the Eclipse but it's probably pretty bad too unless you insurance fraud after every bounty because restocking those torpedos will run you at a loss and player capital ships have PDC's now which intercept torpedoes. Both still look very cool though which is literally the entire reason I CCU'd a Retaliator. I don't foresee the Retaliator being worth anything for quite a long time unfortunately, the cargo grids are too narrow to fit anything larger than a hoverquad so no bunker running(I mean you can but it's worse off than just doing a cutlass black) and ships large enough that you'd want to bring those massive torpedoes will often intercept them and if it takes more than one to secure a kill you're probably going to be operating at a financial loss. No pilot guns and each additional person you have manning a turret only brings in 2x S3 weapons makes it insanely inefficient for pretty much any form of traditional combat.

>>1567214Hope you enjoy CBT then, cause thats what using the rear cargo bay feels like. Tana's great. I'd even go so far as to say it's slept on. you never see them anymore. you can be quite liberal with your missiles with how many it holds 23k rearm after an LRT, twice in a row and it hits heavy, aside from some predictable convergence issues (fucking bullets pass on either side of the smallest ships at CR's preferred cinematic 'visually identify the enemy pilot' range)
>>1567214I mean it's usable. Drop a torpedo onto something large carrying valuable cargo and loot it and you'll usually be revenue positive however most other ships do it better but none are nowhere near as cool at doing it. Alternatively you can do some PVP fuckery by stripping out all of the shields, a power plant, and a cooler while swapping the remaining cooler/Powerplant to the cheapest stealth grade available at stores to become invisible to anything you're looking at. Your detection range drops to 4.7k and your torpedoes have a minimum arm range of 5k and maximum range of 40k
>>1567438>junkyard firebirdbased
>>1566925literally the only things the tali has going for it are being able to swap to being a worse MSR (in terms of cargo capacity), the extremely expensive torpedoes that will be shot down or hit by countermeasures instead of landing on target, and having a bubble shield with 35k HP (that's impossible to actually power because it's 6 fucking size 2s). needing five additional retards just to have 10 S3s worth of firepower is a little on the sad side.
>>1567484>needing five additional retards just to have 10 S3s worth of firepower is a little on the sad side.>Modular GUNSHIP>10x Size3's split between 5 people, 6 if you count the mandatory pilot who gets nothing except torpedoes IF you take the torpedo moduleMeanwhile the Scorpius fits 8x S3's between two people and the pilot gets some missiles in addition to 4x of those S3's. Not quite sure how they'd fix the Retaliator. Quad Turret S3's on top? Convert everything to Size 4's? Pair of Size 5 gatlings for the Pilot? 2x S3 Shields for it to operate as an anchoring gunship since it requires such a plethora of people to crew? Definitely in a super awkward spot.
Can a 4 SCU box (2x2) actually enter in the bunker? Is that the largest size? Or is it only 2x2?

>>1567564No you can only fit size 1 width.
>>1567571Yeah but is it 2 height and depth?
>>1567574I don't think 4scu will fit no the door is not straight and high enough to get it in lengthways. You can try I guess.
>>1567514compared to a lot of current ship designs it's just kinda fucked. i'm not even sure what you'd do to it that wouldn't be a really significant overhaul
Can you sell guns removed from player ships anymore?I tried selling Omniskys and the polaris torpedoes but at least lorville didn't want to buy either
>>1567669Off the top of my head, you cannot sell stock components from another players ship but you can sell non-stock components and weapons you pilfer from another players ship, however you can sell NPC stock components. Not that it's worth it in pretty much any scenario because you only get 5% of their value due to how easy it is to dupe components.
>>1567726Thanks anon. So the point of letting players salvage ships to clean up POIs is what? a little bit of rmc?
>>1567729Well I mean if they have a weapon you want, you can take it and store it for your personal use later which can save a lot of money. Attrition 5's for example are 500k? each which if you need them means you just saved yourself 500k and you can dupe them yourself to outfit all of your hardpoints. Alternatively there's some ships with highly desired components that come stock which you can steal and dupe for your own ships that are no longer sold in stores. And as you stated you can also salvage their armor panels for RMC.
>>1567739In theory I could also start a pawnshop and sell that shit to other players.

>>1567892>you need size 3 minimumNot a huge problem with this, but conversely, size 5 guns should be too big to effectively hit fighters, which I guess equates to slower projectile speed. Battleships weren't shooting down fighters with 14 or 16" guns.
>>1567944>size 5 guns should be too big to effectively hit fighters, which I guess equates to slower projectile speed. Battleships weren't shooting down fighters with 14 or 16" guns.Size 5 is like a 76mmn nowhere near a 14''>Battleships weren't shooting down fighters with 14 or 16" guns.Yes
>>1567892>heavy fighter and medium ship armorThey should stick to the lore and add minimal amounts of armor to DRAKE ships or none at allIn fact, the amount of armor should just depend on the design
>>1567944That's changed. Bigger size guns are no longer limited to slow projectile speeds according to a blog post last year. Large sized guns can be anti fighter or anti big ship. Smaller guns however are planned to have issues with armor including and I quote "not doing any damage at all on some well armored ships"
>>1567570Nuking. Why shouldn't missiles be expensive? A sidewinder, which probably equates to a Size 1 IR like the Arrow, is $400K and an AMRAAM is over a million.Bombs should be cheaper though, because they're unguided. A JDAM is like $30K.
>>1567951Last I saw armor was going to be a secondary health bar on the ship and hits would decrease it until you hit the hull itself. I heard someone say it was a stop gap for the real system though so who knows.
>>1567956>Why shouldn't missiles be expensive? A sidewinder, which probably equates to a Size 1 IR like the Arrow, is $400K and an AMRAAM is over a million.that would make them 1/67th price of the ship anon>A JDAM is like $30K.A-10 warthogs are 20 million, which would make the correct bomb price 1/600th of the ship that drops it
>>1567954I know it's changed, although they did reduce projectile speeds for *some* of the larger guns aside from CF repeaters. What I'm asking is what role will Size 1 and 2 guns fill?
>>1567854Interesting, useful in very limited ways, but not really all that applicable to the PU. An 8v8 all fighter combat scenario is just not relevant to 99% of PU gameplay. A group of M50s, flown by skilled pilots, highly coordinated, against another group of fighters? Not saying it'll never happen, but in PU you're going to get much more varied combat vs this sterile narrow scope example.
>>1567970That's because the PU sucks, there are no gameplay loots, or loot, or areas to defend.
>>1567966>>1567956Missiles will be cheaply 3D printed at scale in the future. Not individually hand assembled from CNC milled components like modern DOD sourcing.
>>1567968Anti non armor, anti infantry, anti bomber, anti interceptor, anti small fighter probably. There will be overlap between sizes obviously. But long gone will be the days snubs and the m50 destroy every ship they come across with relative ease.
>>1567972That's wrong and you should feel retarded for saying it, but even so if there was an area to defend and you had 8 players you'll would never show up in 8 M50s lmao. You'd show up with a fleet comp tailored to your objective, area of operation, and anticipated opposition.I guess if you're defending a point in space and you know your enemy is 8 hornets you might, but get real. A fully hammerhead with a couple of interceptor escorts will mog 8 M50s
>>1567944> Battleships weren't shooting down fighters with 14 or 16" guns. The IJN tried. But, uh, weren’t successful.
>>1567975>in the future as it applies to Star CitizenLiterally nothing applies, because not only is it Space WW2 dogfighting, it's 1980s era life just in space. When's the last time that everything you bought required you to go to each and every store?>>1567976I don't disagree that an M50 shouldn't be able to hurt armored ships with size 2 guns. To go back to the battleship example, the main guns were other capital ship killers. Even hitting a destroyer was a challenge, let alone fighter aircraft. We have two distinct types of vessels that are all sort of merging into "ships", which are aircraft and seagoing ships. A Gladius is more like an F-16, and larger ships are patrol craft up to destroyer/cruisers.
>>1568013Why are you equating size 5 guns to battleship cannons?
>S1.30 cal machine gun / MMG / GPMGS1 weapons should only be a threat to light fighters, small to medium size non-combat craft, and light ground vehicles.>S2.50 cal machine gun / HMGA threat to any fighter in sufficient quantity, but not a great match against things larger than a Vanguard.>S350cal rotary or 20mm autocannonsA deadly threat to all small ships, combat oriented or not, and able to threaten medium ships in sufficient volume or time on target.>S420-25mm rotary, 25mm+ autocannons.S4 is getting to the equivalent of the weapons found on IFVs and gunships. S4 is the real entry point to heavy weapons. More variety and specialization, depending on weapon choice these present serious threats to both fighters and medium or larger ships.>S530mm rotaries, 35-50mm autocannons, maybe even up to 76mm equivalent style cannons as the other anon mentioned. This size weapon is a true do anything sir that requires careful weapon selection based on what you're trying to achieve with the loadout. Maybe you use ultra high rate of fire, high velocity weapons to shred lighter targets at the expense of some armor penetration/damage or having to target subcomponents on big ships, or maybe you go for high alpha heavy hitters to murder medium and large targets.
>>1567979Actually i am correct, the largest ships in the verse are carriers, in which you will simply have fighter vs fighter game play, where everything i said stands.
>>1568015S5s hard kill tanks. S4s can kill tanks. S3s can damage tanks but maybe not really destroy them. S2 do nothing against tanks.Want to kill a tank but your fighter only mounts S2/S3 weapons? Fire a missile at it. Have an S4? Choose to fire a missile or hammer it with the S4 a bit.
>>1568014because he is braindamaged, only S9 and above can considered for that comparison.
>>1568019Every carrier besides the Kraken is barely a carrier at all. They all have large main armaments. They're combat ships with a hangar crammed in, not really carriers. Show me how many M50s you need to destroy a fully crewed Polaris and how long it takes.
>>1568022Battleships had a variety of armaments. Main batteries like the 16" guns are clearly S9 types.Secondary batteries of 5 inch guns which were used at closer ranges or largely as AA are more like S6-S7 ish.
>>1568021Don't need to blow up a tank if you can stay out of its main gun arc, deplete it's shields, destroy its tracks with S2/man portable weapons, and oxy torch into the interior to murder the crew.
>>1568023>Show me how many M50s you need to destroy a fully crewed Polaris and how long it takes. You could have infinity m50s and not be able to destroy a polaris, it's just retarded gameplay.
>>1568014Just as an extreme reference point. I understand S5s are not battleship guns.>>1568015The point is something like this, that different size guns exist for different purposes. Right now, there's not a lot of variety and bigger guns basically equal better in Star Citizen, as opposed to different.
>>1568022He's going over something cig said about 5 years ago that smaller guns would be anti fighter and bigger guns would be anti big ship etc. But they've said that's been scrapped and now all sized guns can be anti fighter or whatever and there will be classes within that weapon size.
>>1568036don't worry bro, just five more years before they decide to scrap weapon sizes entirely and come up with an infinitely more retarded system
>>1568031>You could have infinity m50s and not be able to destroy a polarisWell the real answer right now is a single M50 with a suicidal pilot, but I'm sure the ramming thing will get fixed somehow. Maybe. This is fundamentally correct though. It's pretty stupid to act like the M50 was made OP and interceptors/racing ships whatever need to be returned because MM made them unbalanced when they're advantage is in 5v5 fighter on fighter brawls. That doesn't translate to other scenarios. M50 winning 5v5s and 8v8s against medium fighters is only a little weird. If you have 8 players in the PU you're not going to run a light fighter swarm unless you plan to just flee anything larger than a Freelancer.
>>1567958they added bullet penetration with engineering and we even played that when it was in testing, I was presuming that armor would reduce that from happening because that'd make sense
>>1568108Ballistics will penetrate a certain level of armor. So you won't have to strip it all. Energy weapons don't have any penetration and you need to strip the armor before you can damage the components. However energy weapons will do more damage to armor than ballistics. At least that is how I understand it.
>>1567746this would be the real game; get your hands on things like NBDs or salvaged ardores and you can sell them for much more than their actual worth. CIG seems committed to gating high end components behind a certain kind of gameplay that a lot of industry boomers hate, so you could make a pretty penny fencing them
>>1567854>effective>not saying "he's soft"he's soft
>>1568152yeah the true trouble is dealing with customers etc so it would actually work. just need capital and tireless advertising
CIG confirmed that "weapon insurance" is an exploit.
>>1568321Anon confirms that CIG is retarded and their words don't matter. Actions matter, and they're allowing "exploits" so long as their game doesn't function which is the foreseeable lifespan of star citizen
>>1568321then they should make it so weapons knocked off of ships or removed from soft deathed ships despawn
>>1567514You fix the Tali by consolidating some of the gunnery on the better positioned human turrets and turn the rest into PDCs or stock-bladed 2x S2 or 2x S1Human gunners with 2x S4 or some unique 3x S3 or a better looking 4x S3 means you're actually useful, while blades handle incoming ordnance and harassing smaller stuff
>>1567570>>1567956The role of a bomber should be to allow lazy pilots to carpet bomb bunkers/outposts (or even salvage yards) so they dont lose time shooting mooks on the surface (and also to avoid getting ambushed). Assuming the player is looking for a profit it doesnt make sense to make said ships shit janalite out of the ass every time they take a dump. Not to mention the bombers themselves are quite expensive. They should cut that shit in half (more so for the hercules nuke which is outrageous).Land looter bums would have essentially 3 options: large cargo ships if they are absolutely greedy or take vehicles (MAX, Zeus Cl and whatnot), med bays to act as insurance against NPC ganking and bombers if they are lazy and like to wipe outposts for a quick loot.
So hang on, let me guess this straight.I can wear the fancy armour I have now without fear of dying once and then never ever seeing it ever again?
>>1568015your scaling is off.there are no 30 or 50 cals at all on vehicle mounts those are personal weapon calibers. >>1568368No. They're patching that out today.

>>1568412Not really, the retribution is basically a yamato, except uglier
Two questions:1) Will we be able to steal and claim vanduul ships2) How will boarding pods work
>>1568388>your scaling is off.You have no idea what you're talking about. 30 and 50 cal machine guns are the standard light armament for vehicles with guns strapped to them. Look at the scale in game. An S1 laser repeater isn't even as large as an IRL M2 Browning. Now look at an S4 gatling - that's not a fucking 30mm rotary. A 30mm rotary (GAU8) is the size of a Volkswagen. That's S5 at minimum.S1s should be mainly for blowing up snubs, golf carts, and strafing humans. A 20mm is firmly in the anti-light armor role.A 50mm rotary is unfathomably large. You size queen retards need to check yourself before you say something so stupid, so confidently.
>>1568412Yes.>>1568414You're kidding yourself if you don't think the Retribution has hangars.>>1568422>Will we be able to steal and claim vanduul shipsNo. You will only be able to get modified human compatible replicas.>How will boarding pods workLol. Lmao.
>>1568388You now realize that 30 caliber machine guns were a primary armament for interwar and early WWII fighter aircraft, eventually being completely replaced by 50 caliber mgs and 20mm.M1919s and similar 30 cal machine guns have been widely used in door gunner and light vehicle mounts forever.S1s are small.
>>1568449>You will only be able to get modified human compatible replicas.Why?>Lol. Lmao.Is there a reason why they wouldn't work?
>>1568388This is a GAU8, a 30mm rotary.This is equivalent to an S4 at a minimum, but I think it's actually more comparable to an AD5B. AD4B is closer to a 20-25mm rotary.
>>1568462>Why?Because that's the lore. Vanduul physiology is different enough from a human you would even be able to reach the pedals lol.The reverse engineered Vanduul ship replicas available to human pilots are made by Esperia (Blade & Glaive).>Is there a reason why they wouldn't work? You do realize how many unimplemented game mechanics there are in the backlog, right? Some as far back as 10+ years? You really think boarding pods are going to be anything more than a scripted SQ42 sequence in the next 5 years?
>>1568466
>>1568470>You really think boarding pods are going to be anything more than a scripted SQ42 sequence in the next 5 years?I genuinely have no idea.
>>1568474They aren't.You'd better just stop thinking about boarding pod gameplay so you can be pleasantly surprised if they ever mention it again. It's probably not coming.
>>1568466comparing a monster like the GAU8 to the limp dick peashooter that is the AD5B is an insult. The GAU 8 doesn't have to take 1 whole fucking second to ramp up and has enough power to stall the A-10
>>1568388You're scaled one jump too high. S1s are mounted on light vehicles and used as supplemental weapons, they're 30 cal rotaries or .50s.
I think due to inherent unrealistic charasteristics of the guns the focus should be on their ingame function. I believe there should be a clearer divide between ships of different size.Eg.Size: targets it can hit and damageS1: Infantry and unarmored vehiclesS2: lightly armored vehicles and fightersS3: armored vehicles, fighters and unarmored medium shipsS4: heavily armored vehicles, armored medium shipsS5: Biggest of ground vehicles, Armored large shipsS6: Heavily armored large ships, unarmored capital shipsS7: Lightly armored capital shipsS8: Armored capital ships, Unarmored Stations, BuildingsS9: Heavily armored capital ships, Armored Stations, Defensive installationsS10: Heavily armored capital ships, Heavily Armored Stations, BunkersMy view is that the game should separate ships of different weight class to their own brackets in the battlefield, fighters would avoid capital ships and mostly focus on other fighters - while capital ships focus on other capital ships and cannot truly engage fighters meaningfully.
>>1568542To clarify, the projectile speeds and types being used to ensure that while being hit by a S10 projectile in a fighter is instagib - its extremely unlikely to happen.
>>1568542>>1568543welcome to what the system originally was. in another year or two, it may be what the system is again. CIG doesn't really have anyone with a clear vision of what the game is ultimately supposed to look like.
Whats the best cutter variant to actually fill with boxes and junk? I heard the scout is a bit longer inside and better for some vehicles but that the base is also a little bit wider (almost unnoticeable) so you can fit 2 rows of boxes and walk easily past them (although the door is a bit on the side). Did anyone tested this to the very limit? All I saw on youtube was a guy puting a 8 scu box and it got stuck inside the scout (base went fine... somewhat, but I think hes a bit clumsy). Never flew the ship but it seems a decent trash can starter for loot.
>>1568662I managed to fit 9 or 10 boxes in the base cutter in 2 rows and putting a couple on the ramp. You can just barely squeeze past to hit the door controls. Haven't tried the others.
>>1567433I used to just fly the Tana back then with toshima ballistics and distortions and just farm Hammerheads since you just stay out of their los.
>>1567438Are Seekers still the go to this patch?

Duh because they want to get data on how people will be spending money on gear and stuff. It's not like the public build is ever going to be a mirror of the development side.
I'm trying to get into the game, but the main menu is somewhat unresponsive, it takes maybe 3 or 4 seconds to enter into the options menu, and maybe 3 seconds to select an option. The main menu screen is blurry and pixelated, and sometimes it just crashes entirely. I managed to start an Arena Commander race, but it's really stuttery and the menu doesn't even work when I press ESC (the menu shows up but none of the buttons actually do anything). Is there something that I need to do to set the game up correctly? Or is this the Star Citizen Experience?

>>1569009>>1569012Roger. I've heard that Windows 11 (may) fix that specific issue with needing to disable the E-Cores on Intels 12th gen + CPU's to properly play SC, so you could consider looking into that at some point.
>>1569015I read that too, but I'm not prepared to upgrade to Windows 11. Right now I'm just glad that it's working, and I'm a little overwhelmed by the character creator. Also I have to decide whether I want to start on Pyro as a new player.
>>1569020>Also I have to decide whether I want to start on Pyro as a new player.Don't start in Pyro. I mean, do whatever you want, but as a newfag you're going to find out the hard way (that's if the numerous issues in this patch doesn't drive you away first).
>>1569024>Don't start in PyroI'll take your advice, thank you.
>>1569020Do not select New Babbage as your starting location, it loves to break and trap you onsite unless another player comes by and picks you up. Area18 is a pretty solid starting location because it has everything clustered in one location which makes shopping runs much easier and is the closest to the pyro jump gate.

>>1569032>>1569033Much appreciated. I fell asleep last night watching a youtube video of someone moving crates for an hour. Looking forward to immersive space simulator gameplay loops.
>>1569035Something the game doesn't tell you is that landing areas for hangars are not explicitly conveyed in the UI and every major location has different hangar locations and layouts so you'll need to figure out where it is on every space station and planet yourself or watch a video of it. For example if you want to land at Area18 you'll need to look for a giant city and then around it for a comparatively flat runway looking place. In the attached image once you start getting close to the giant control tower in the center you then request a hangar and it should open one up for you. When I first started I assumed the Area18 marker would take you directly to the space port, it does not and I had to look up where the landing zones were.

Apparently if you repair your ship with non stock parts, it will strip your components and replace them with the default.
>>1569052You throw a grenade because then they can't pinpoint the source of danger.
>>1569060Using the repair/restock options will restore the ship to its last saved state. To ensure your ship is saved to the appropriate state you want, you need to store it, open up your vehicle menu in the mobiglass, remove a component, save, and then re-add the component you removed and hit save again. Now any time you repair/restock or insurance the ship it'll restore to that specific state.

>>1570169the retaliator is size 4, the 600i is size 5, so the cutoff is probably around the starliner (but it doesn't exist yet so we can't tell). the retaliator down to the MSR is size 4, the vanguard and down are size 3/2/1.
>>1570161you should notice a tangible slowdown in the rate of fire and a quicker overheat. I believe that's where the actual debuff is, not in artificially reducing the damage of each projectile.
A cutlass, vanguard or a even a 300i (later is kinda on the edge between light and medium though) are medium ships. Corsairs, constelations, moles, starlancers, 400i, etc are all large. These are sub-capitals.Capital ships have different designations like corvette, frigate, destroyer, cruiser, etc. A reclaimer, starfarer or hull C are industrial corvettes. A pioneer, 890, the upcoming merchantman and hull D are frigate sized ships. Gigashit like Hull E or the Javelin are destroyer size (Kraken and Orion are smaller but pretty close).Btw, assuming player trading will be a thing (selling orders and whatnot), all giga freighters will be cancer because thery will flood the markets, specially if they have an escort from the zerg (large orgs, like it happens in eve), and therefore fuck all profits other players can have. All players should put their differences aside and band together to shoot them, either for loot or for the lulz. This helps the economy. Same goes for their upcoming shit bases.

>>1570849I have sat in these settlements and paged through the missions to find an HRT and queue it up when there's a bunch of dorks around getting in my way, it's pretty reliable. they spawn instantly and chase the fuckers back to their ships to flee
>>1571245that's the real killer in this game. you spend an hour playing the sims in your ship, setting it up with food and water, spare gear, a snub and/or a ground vehicle to be prepared for anything, and the fucking hangar doors glitch from open to closed with you in the middle. they punish you for trying to autistically live the Vision while murderhobos have all the fun
>>1571626I've seen people pay the same, in pyro you might get better ones because I'm pretty sure their tied to faction rep, idk about stanton. could also just be bugged like everything else, the mission roster is extremely limited right now, I've had starfarer and scorpius etc scraping jobs in stanton back in 3.23
>>1571153>that will hopefully unblock issues with leaving prison which might help with that >This is PTU so won't progress live or previewwhat a mess they are. creating multiple timelines now. what happens when it goes live? I guess your progress will carry over right up to the point you updated to 4.0.1? also they say if you do a clean install you'll get a CTD on launch, so newfags need not apply, preview gang only.
I bought this game a couple years ago but have never played it since it couldn’t run on my old PC. I recently got a new PC and forgot all about this game until seeing this post. Should I reinstall it? I heard the game is shit anyways so would it even be worth my disc space?
>>1571770giant hotfix dropping tonight but if you don't have the current build installed you'll be shut out so either install right fucking now or wait for next week or you're gonna have a bad time.
Will drake launch another pack mule kind of ship like the cutlass but with more firepower? Or will it be some industrial/exploration/shenanigans crap?

This game is starting to hurt my feelings.

>>1571908lmao>>1571916would actually love that

>>1571926
>>1571932>>1571930they're gonna make a fully distinct one for the ironclad that actually detaches and never update the caterpillar leaving it entirely in the dust
>>1571933If they do a new cockpit module, and by the wings and shape, its probably going to be a combat one with better guns etc - "intended" for the dropship fatterpillar
>>1571934all of these silhouette images have humans for scale and all the background props matter, the props on this one are 1 soldier, crates (a few in the background) and an armored vehicle (right corner)

>>1571938
>>1571941it's actually dumb as fuck that they put steps up to a door when they could have put the door wherever they wanted given it goes straight out the hull to a distinct other ship

>>1571951>This is still the best space simulator I've ever played.Nevermind. This is the worst game I've ever played.
>>1571951honestly i had way more spaceship based fun with everspace and that's just an arcadey roguelite. supposedly x4 is pretty good for most of the shit that SC will maybe one day potentially possibly have, but i haven't played it.
>>1572129presumably that's just the amount of raw material in the fabricator, keeping you dogged up until it runs out
>>1572161>will maybe one day potentially possibly haveoh this game is 1000% never leaving alpha. that being said, is there a better hauler to use than the taurus? my cargo keeps falling through the elevator and im about ready to change my space profession
>>1572129I suspect it's meant to make like 10SCU of hotdogs in bulk batches, or just the total available like >>1572179 said.I autistically hope we'll be able to make our own mustard and bread instead of just buying it as a commodity. I expect the ability to make burgers as well.I WILL make a burger joint/gunstore combination.
>>1572187based and america pilled>>1572185honestly the taurus feels like the most balanced ship for hauler runs as long as you're not trying to stack medium missions. in terms of larger and easier to fill, there's the C2, but CIG keeps fucking it up patch after patch, it gets really fucky when you put its ramps down (which you have to in order to load cargo), and it also doesn't have a tractor turret (and nerfs to handheld tractors and the...absolute state the ATLS is in mean tractor turrets are hands down the best way to load a ship). the caterpillar is fat and awkward and flies funny, and its cargo bays are frankly SHIT to work with even though they're pretty cool, but it does have a tractor and 576 scu to work with, though noteably, i don't think it can fit 32 SCU containers at all and might not be able to handle 24s, because it's designed by retards as all drake ships are. the freelancer max has 54 less SCU than the taurus and slightly worse loading, as well as no tractor turret, but it's at least similar sized, where the cat and c2 are way fatter.
>>1572195>as long as you're not trying to stack medium missionsThat's probably the issue. I like the freelancer MAX as it's been the most comfy loading and I've had the least amount of problems with bugs with that ship, but it just doesn't have enough cargo capacity. maybe i'll just stick to doing single medium cargo missions.
The game doesn't even need a shitty crafting mechanic, I'm sick of being forced to craft in every fucking game
>>1572207Honestly they should fix their core game before adding all this new content.
>>1572207They do it cause its in Rust and similar games which is currently the template of the type of game they want to make.
twice now I've had a pretty decent stable server, get killed by a a player, and then the server shits the bed so completely I can't even get off the fucking station to try and go get my shit back. why is their backend so shit? fire all your retarded jeet codemonkeys and pay white people wages you kikes, I hope the Trump admin fucking guts their low level network 'talent'
>>1572185Taurus is the best overall.C2: Bugging landing gear and ramps make it unstable, has a lot of room but sits very high on long rampsCaterpillar: Getting old and buggy, annoying to handle cargo since there are no ramps and the walkway gets in the way, best interior but only one entry to the ship, better not fuck it upHullA: pretty comfy but tiny cargoFreelancers: Decent but stupid cargo rooms and small doorwaysFatlancer: New so its fine, maybe second best to taurusReclaimer: A lot of cargo room but you will kys trying to move boxesValkyrie: Out of grid a lot of room and good access, grid is tinyCarrack: Similar problems to caterpillarMSR: Waste of space the shipHullC: Space trading only890j: Unwieldy and old, buggy, decent600i: out of grid room, grid is small and split akwardlyRetaliator: Interesting module crappery, but not a lot of roomPolaris: Otherwise fine and safest ship, but very laggy due to size; ramps are extremely long and ship sits very high, also very easy to lock yourself outside the ship (but one of the few ships you can kys to get back in)Corsair: Interestingly one of the better cargo ships. Not a huge cargo space but what you have is the most accessible after Taurus since the ship sits very low, the out of grid area is exactly 4 scu wide on both sides giving you some ~100scu total space.A lot of ships in the game like HH, but all are kinda meme when you just need to move boxes comfortably, for that: Taurus>C2(when not bugging)>Polaris>Corsair>Carrack>Caterpillar...
>>1572239Forgot fatlancer from the end summary:Taurus>C2(when not bugging)>Polaris>Fatlancer>Corsair>Carrack>Caterpillar...
>>1572239if you're moving pad to pad (ie flat surfaces) the caterpillar is great, they actually made some stealth changes to it with 4.0 tat make it a lot more useable; 8SCU boxes now slide nicely under the catwalk, 32SCUs actually snap to the grid now, the door buttons are a little more reliable and they moved the catwalk ones but that doesn't really change or fix anything, idk why they did that. also your ship's gravity now extends to the opened door wings you you won't just fall out if you're at a funny angle, presumably you won't get swept away standing on them while cruising either but I haven't personally confirmed that
>>1572239>>1572240One additional thing.Atls will help in cargo handling, its almost negligible help since its so buggy these days. But even with Atls what I mentioned about the ships is true, since Atls is very hard to use if you dont see the floor you are trying to snap to.I really really like caterpillar and I have tried it many times - however it is just too hard to handle cargo with it to make sense using it for that.
>>1572241Ok, you are probably right. I haven't used Cat in 4.0 due to the problems before. However the cargo fixes do not fix its single elevator, and I suspect Atls still cant really see where to slap the cargo in.
>>1572241Also damn, if wings have gravity now, slap some tanks and vehicles on them and you have a bubblegum capital ship.
>>1572243ATLS is okay; if doing big boxes it's better from the ground, it can just barely see the grid when empty to snap them to. the automatic suck boxes to you just fucks everything up if you're inside. it's great for shifting and stacking smaller boxes rapidly though. the nice thing about the cat is the double doors on each segment; you push things in under the catwalk from the port side, then at the other end just stand on the catwalk and fire it all out the starboard using the tru-hold, at which point I get in the remote tractor and stack it all into the elevator, ready to send down before I ever leave the ship.
>>1572247cat is a bit akwardly shaped, otherwise it would be great to just angle it to the ground. If the gravity works on the doors, it might make sense to park it on 45 degree angle and use the ramps to enjoy geometry and exit and enter the ship. Problem could still be that the shape prevents you from getting close enough and leaving the ship hovering is kinda asking for trouble.
>>1572249the big stupid wing is the shittiest thing; it prevents you from simply putting the edge of the open doors straight to the ground, as does the command module on the other side. I've tried many times and that and the huge ugly prongs on the end also block you. what a slap in the face those things are; big vague promises about their cool function from the beginning only for them to be "uhhhh parking sensors." at this point I'd rather they just be out of the way
>>1572250Yeah, you are the first person ive talked to who agrees that they are shit. The wing is aesthetically unpleasing and very akward. At least the "parking sensors" look decent, but its a matter of taste. Both are in the way and annoying, ruining some potential from the ship. the sensors could retract when the door is open.
>>1572251they're both holdovers from the concept days when it was a very different ship, and had a bunch of features that were, like most of the game at the time, just big ideas. actually looking at it the wing has grown substantially. I could forgive it if the tractor beam was at least at the end of it for maximum bay coverage.
>>1572251They're not parking sensors. That's a drake marketing term. What they are in reality is rods meant to pierce the hulls of enemy ships.Remember: all drake ships are pirate ships marketed as something different.Caterpillar works like this>caterpillar aligns with hull of enemy ship>full speeds ahead, rams itself into the hull>fire team opens the front door, cuts through the hull, extracts cargo>command module disembarks and escapesThis is literally why they call it the Caterpillar. It eats ships.
I've been using polaris for almost everything for most sessions now. Including cargoPro:Best ship in the game, safestFast and big fuel tanksDecent room for cargoFlying base, can do a lot and nice way to lose a lot to a stupid bugCan carry whatever small ship, eg. MPUVCon:Very laggy - easily the worst problem with the ship (a lot to load)DockingBig and unwieldySits way too high from ground, making ramps long and access highEasy to lock yourself outside the ship
>>1572259Ok anon, but the tractor beams are shit. The only PROMISE is that if the cockpit can detach one day, that can be a handy tractor
>>1572279what the fuck is wrong with those tractor beams even? are all ship tractors like that? it's like my dpi has been tripled when I remote into them, they're all over the fucking place. it's beyond stupid.
>>1572259>pic why the fuck did they take articulated engines away from us
>>1572288there might be an option somewhere for their sensitivity, but yeah they are all crazy as hell. probably carbon copies of eachother so all have the same crazy sensitivity. But on top of that they cant even see in the cargo rooms in Cat. In Polaris its in a pretty akward place, but the console for it is in a good spot. Interesting that polaris even has a tractor beam as the cargo is so small. Someone imagined that you lift torpedoes with it I guess, then put them on the torpedo elevator to lift them 2 meters and then???
I'm at an outpost and I bought some gold to trade and I'm guessing there's no auto cargo load feature there, so I checked the cargo elevator to see if I could load it manually, but it's just stuck on "transferring to warehouse" do I need to do something else in order to pick up my gold?
>>1572341that entire cargo and torpedo area of the polaris is hilariously overdesigned. why did they put one of these in for munitions in a world where magic lifting beams exist?
>>1572377if you're at bezdek 2 of the three freight consoles was bugged when I did the exact same gold run, try them all
>>1572380Different outpost. All three terminals are bugged.
>>1572382unfortunate. your stuff won't go anywhere, it took me two days to extract my gold. keep server hopping and try different regions. nothing seems to fucking work on the US servers, I had better luck with EU
>>1572378 "military ships" like polaris are designed like hot garbage. I know future is future and space opera is space opera but what exactly is so military about Polaris for example.Glass bridge, in the most vulnerable part of the shipNo CICThose torpedoes, supposedly a really powerful warhead, ammo storage is directly next to cargo room with big weak doors. There are no ladders near the bridge of the shipThe main elevator is extreme slow piece of shitSimilar to Carrack the ship has a lot of wasted space, especially for useless corridors.Doesn't help that RSI apparently does ships in standard metal gray with angular soulless lego hallways.
>>1572384I'm glad I only bought 2 units instead of filling my ship. I must be playing the wrong game mode because space hauling is riddled with bugs to a repulsing degree.
>>1572395Everything is anon.
>>1572399>Everything is anon.
Ok this is actually getting to me. I bought 1,000,000 worth of cargo to haul, game disconnects me. I reconnect, summon my ship to my landing pad. It appears half stuck in the ground so I put it back in storage and it gets destroyed somehow. This is actually the worst game that I have ever played.
>>1572201my usual run for hauling is one medium mission out (typically to the first lagrange station so i can go to it first and immediately offload) and one small mission that goes to 4/5 lagrange stations (best payout, usually just bringing them stims or pressurized ice/processed food), then running through all of the lagrange stations to collect waste, maybe doing one other mission that goes from one lagrange to another. the end goal is to have a shitload of missions to turn in back at the LEO station, which for me is everus, while keeping strictly to dealing with lagrange stations, since it's faster to land at one and sling cargo back and forth than going down to a planetary location, and the planetary hauling missions are more spread out. avoid taking missions with duplicate cargo (e.g. multiple missions for delivering stims) since it gets really difficult to keep track of which set of cargo is for which destination.>>1572288i always hit Q the moment i sit in a tractor turret because they always default to the godawful drifty mode, but idk if that fixes the cat's tractors because i haven't touched them yet.>>1572390honestly it feels like SC ships are procedurally generated by AI that were told to make sure to leave some glaring flaws in them.
>>1572419so, one time i was hauling my own cargo with my C2, with a friend to help make it a little faster to get the 32 SCU boxes out because it's a little awkward. i'd stuck my ATLS in it because it has plenty of space, and hand tractors are fucking SHIT now because they got nerfed to make tractor turrets and the ATLS more appealing, instead of just...making tractor turrets and the ATLS even better. so anyways, i get my cargo, like 1.8 mil of shit i'm taking to sell for 2.5 or so. load it all up, head over to crusader, land, get ready to unload, hop in my ATLS. my ATLS starts spazzing the fuck out and jittering all over the cargo bay of the C2 while i'm taking thirty years to climb into it. it starts sinking through the floor of the C2. it completely obliterates both of my legs (tier 1 injuries in both), still jittering and spazzing around, while i've just gotten the harnes of the ATLS down and started grabbing the controls. it pops out of the bottom of my C2 and lands on the hangar floor. i finish getting into the ATLS, and immediately start climbing back out, fall onto the ground, get one second of the "you are critically injured" screen, and then i'm just fucking dead and being sent back to lorville. my hangar in crusader despawns, kicking my friend out entirely. my C2 shows up as destroyed on the ASOPs despite being safely landed in a crusader hangar at the time i died.i no longer run my own cargo.
>>1572430I haven't done much hauling, just grinded rep. But the best I found was:Baijini Point -> A18, you get 7 contracts for a little under 100SCU. and some 96k profit There is a contract from A18->BJ but its a waste of time.Image not mine, someone from the thread.
>>1572439So much can go wrong when hauling your own cargo. The game's not even close to a state where this is a viable gameplay loop. I tried hauling gold again with my last million and before landing on the station I got a server error, then when I landed the game thought my ship was destroyed so instead of being able to Store the ship there was the option to Claim it. Leaving and relanding fixed it, and I'm glad it did because I would have straight up refunded the game if I was faced with unloading 174 one unit boxes just to save the last of my net worth.
>>1572278it's got a medbed you can just kill yourself if you get locked out of your shipPerseus when my Carrack feels very dated
>>1572460Rookie numbers. But yeah, my last thing in SC was loading all my guns to gunracks on Polaris, a mule with my armor on it, and was just bringing more when it started to spazz out and clipped under the elevator. I twas impossible to get it or any other ship to come up on the elevator so I'm hoping time has fixed it, otherwise I lost all those guns etc - but what's worse.. all the time I spent putting them.I mean I'm not asking to be able to decorate the ship, all I need is the guns in racks and the ship stored so I can save the loadout. But that was too much.
>>1572464Yeah its one of the saving graces of Polaris, forgot to put it on the pros. It's actually recently been REALLY good as the ship revived me twice with full gear.
>>1572460yeah, that bad C2 haul was on the last patch so i just said fuck it and quit until 4.0 dropped. since then i've been exclusively running missions instead of trying to fund my own activities, until the servers are in a less shit state.
Retrieved my ship after waiting 6 minutes to have it load commodity cargo, went to the hangar and it wasn't even there it was just instantly destroyed for some reason.Refunding my pledge. This game is fucking garbage.
>>1572470The gun "dupe glitch" was so rad, loved actually being able to use gun racks
>>1572552>I played an alpha for the first time with the absolute worst timing right after a major server architecture update and I'm too autistic to come back in 3 months when it's fixed so I'm malding insteadYou won't be missed.
>>1572278>safestArchimedes changes that and makes it the easiest kill in the game
>>1572582i rammed the shit out of a polaris with a nomad, a carrack, and a raven multiple times and it only made the nose redit also gave me like a permanent bug that crashes me any time i get into a pilot seat so thats cool
>>1572561this game is never leaving alpha because once it does it loses all it's financial viability. if you like the game that's completely fine im not criticizing anyone's choice, but let's not delude ourselves into thinking that they did a good job making this proof of concept. good luck out there anon, i hope that when this game is actually released that it lives up to all the potential that people seem to hold that it has.
>>1572584Yup. I've done it with other small ships like an Arrow and Gladius.Try a Merlin or Archimedes
>>1572585>this game is never leaving alpha because once it does it loses all it's financial viabilityYou're not thinking with business if you don't think the monetization model is going to change when 1.0 comes. They're already dialing back on ship 'pledge' sales by ramping up the costs and reducing insurance. Whatever new monetization model they come up with is going to make people freak out no matter what but CIG has created a live service game so it's inevitable.Having been a backer for more than 10 years, I've gone full circle from optimistic to fully blackpilled and back more than once. Despite 4.0 being such a mess and all the seething about recent changes and content, I'm more optimistic now than I have been in years. 4.0 provided some of the best experiences I've ever had in this or any multiplayer game, when it was working well. Most of the time it wasn't. It's all coming together, you'll see.4.0 was pushed out right before Christmas+New Years, and it's January 10th. There hasn't even been 10 working days with full staff since it was launched.
>>1572615Are you fucking serious with this shit or are you actually baiting
>>1572619Can you be more specific rage anon?
>>157262010 days would be enough for any other team to get their shit in working order, this game got 12 years of development and 700 million bucks and has never been in an acceptable state, how the fuck are you "more optimistic than you've been in years"What makes you think they're gonna fix shit after this botched patch when they've never done so in the past?
>>1572626You have to remember that the PU is being developed by what is essentially a skeletion crew.Everyone else is working on the money pit of S42.However many people you think from CIG's total headcount are actually working on the PU, half it, then half it again. You'll probably still be a little too high.
>>1572626I think this guy has invested too much time and money to see the reality of this "game" being a hot mess. When this get's 1.0 release it will be an infamous disaster. Scores of YouTube essayists and media outlets will talk about the most expensive mmo ever made and how it feels like an alpha and can't actually run as an mmo due to the shitty server mesh technology. All the while pay piggies will still cling to the game and give more money in the vain of hope of some No man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 "engoodening" that will never come.
>>1572626>10 days would be enough for any other team to get their shit in working orderWhat do you do for a living, anon? I need to know what context to frame your takes in.I work for a company that, while much smaller than CIG, spends about $10m a year on our engineering team. The software they are responsible for building and maintaining is much, much less complex. The individual engineers are paid above market and almost certainly more than CIG engineers. They have been unable to unfuck a critical service for MONTHS.
>>1572633So aren't you proving his point that shit's fucked?
>>1572636I assume "They have been unable to unfuck a critical service for MONTHS." is actually supposed to say *haven't* otherwise his post makes no sense.
>>1572631Is that meant to make anyone optimistic? That is poor project management. The game that brings in money to help fund SQ42, and is played by players, and shows what CIG is capable of is the most neglected.
is anyone else getting lobby error code 60016
>>1572636I never said it wasn't fucked, my point is just that it's not unusually fucked and is actually less fucked than most software companies. It's not unreasonable to be frustrated, entirely fair.If you don't work in the software business though, you can't realize that overall it's so much worse than you could ever imagine and CIG is, believe it or not, actually less of a shit show than most.My previous employer was a SV startup with well over $100m in funding, a theoretically very straightforward product that used mostly whiteboxed third party core tech with a trained ML layer on top, and after 5 years of development we still had to manually unfuck databases by directly connecting and executing spaghetti ass SQL commands, SSHing into boxes and manually running Java builds, and had completely lost the ability to spin up a fresh environment because critical database initiation scripts hadn't been maintained or retained so we could only clone environments pulling all the fucked up data along with it and trying to manually clean it up. That company is considered successful. They have contracts with multiple Forbes 100 lost enterprise clients.CIG is in the top 25% most functional dev shops, as insane as that sounds.
>>1572640Severs are fucked again. It's Friday night so everyone wants to play but no one can. Been trying to log in for 30 minutes now.
>>1572638No, it's 50% blackpill and 50% givin a reason to why the game is way more fucked than you'd expect it to be in a dev studio with a headcount like CIG's.
>>1572642>CIG is in the top 25% most functional dev shops
>>1572637It's a service that represents a critical bottleneck for all new business, and on boarding customers. It's a janky, unmaintained piece of shit only accessible through a retarded rube goldberg Salesforce integration (really). It is notoriously unreliable and completely fails on a monthly basis. When it is working, it's results are unreliable and results in half of customers being radically under charged and half being wildly overcharged. Nobody will officially take ownership of it, including the CTO, despite every $ the business makes being completely dependent on it. It has been this way for years, but especially bad for the last six months. This is a successful company, a leader in their space, with multiple major investors and ~$100m annual revenue with 10-30% year over year growth. That's the bar.
>>1572651Yes, technology is that bad. Your frustration with CIG isn't wrong, it's too narrow. You should be angry and blackpilles at all technology and developers. Most of them are even worse.
>>1572642This is one hell of a false equivalency. This is a company that is simultaneously working on two games (possibly a third) that have been in development for 12 years, that has spent nearly $780 million in budget, constant changes in staff, constant delays, predatory FOMO tactics and investors that will want $180 million by 2028. (hence squadron 42 getting a hard release date). You think that this is going to go better than most software companies? Chris Roberts needs to pull his head out of his ass. Otherwise he's no better that Bernie Madoff.
but don't those companies deliver a product? this game is still in alpha and they're selling the potential for a product
>>1572655How much money have you spent on this game?
>>1572667I would also like to know this. I'm seeing a lot of copium huffing.
>>1572657>This is one hell of a false equivalency. As someone who has worked in the software industry for as long as I've been a backer of SC, I disagree.>This is a company that is simultaneously working on two games (possibly a third) that have been in development for 12 yearsA frustrating lack of focus and priority to be sure, but two of those games are the core products intended from the very beginning and that hasn't changed. Most companies undergo much larger pivots on a shorter timeline as they struggle to find a product-market fit.>for 12 years, that has spent nearly $780 million in budgetYou could apply this statement to almost any medium sized software startup and nobody would even blink. Completely unexceptional.>constant changes in staff, constant delaysUniversally true of all software teams at any scale, B2B, B2C, DoD contractor, doesn't matter.>>1572657>predatory FOMO tacticsThis is true but this is really down to the customers. Gamers are the worst customers on the planet and directly incentive this. A business will not ignore that incentive. A business has no morality at all.>>1572657>investors that will want $180 million by 2028. (hence squadron 42 getting a hard release date). Also completely unexceptional. Investors only squeezing $180m out of a company the size of CIG is actually better than usual. They're going to want that much out of my company by 2028 and we're much smaller. The pressure to scale is insane.>You think that this is going to go better than most software companies?Still, yes. Because people actually give a shit about it, even to the smallest degree. I can't fully express how blackpilled you should be about the overall state of software development and business.>Chris Roberts needs to pull his head out of his ass.Absolutely true. His autism and desire to be a B-list Hollywood producer are a wild combo and brute force or accountability are the only ways through.
>>1572658"product" is a very strong word for what 99% of tech companies produce.
>>1572658You would think so, but the truth is that most profitable software products are still sold on the promise of future functionality as opposed to existing functionality. I've personally worked on contracts for FAANG companies that were in the millions for things that didn't really exist. Everyone knows, it doesn't matter.>>1572667$300. Less than the SSDs in my desktop cost.>>1572670>copiumIt's not cope anon, I'm trying to share some perspective. All your reasons for being frustrated with CIG and Star Citizen are valid. It's just that it's really, really not worse than the rest of the business. I don't know that that should make you feel better about it, but at least know it's not unusually bad.>>1572682This.
>>1572675Yet you still defend this company and give them money. I can see why you are sycophantic about this game because you have the same mindset as Chris Roberts. I can see Chris saying the same shit you do to cover his ass. I can imagine him saying " Well, actually if you compare us to other companies were doing very well..."How much have you given Chris? You are a fool, a damn fool if after 10 years you give them any more money. It gets squandered. We still don't have the fundamentals like a good flight model in place. I can see the POTENTIAL of Star citizen, that is why I backed it, but it's plain to see that potential is being squandered. I spent a fair amount on a starter pack and that's all I need. I could never justify spending shit loads on broken ships on the hope that everything pans out. You keep pulling the "As a software developer" card but I think your judgement and expertise is clouded by sunk cost.
>>1572626Shit is fucked and cig is incompetent but you are out of your fucking mind if you think 10 days is enough time to even scratch all the problems with the 4.0 release. There is no software company in the world able to do that 10 days after a company wide holiday
>>1572688Sshhhh, be quiet. Everyone knows that if you want to make a baby in one month, you simply use 9 mothers.
>>1572687>Yet you still defend this companyWhat do you want me to say anon? I actually want this product.>Give them money.I've given them enough. I haven't given them money in years. I've still spent more. On EVE over the last 10 years than SC.I told you how much I've given CIG in the interests of being transparent. You keep pulling this sunk cost card to make your doomposting comparatively more valid, but you're no different than me really. You're also invested or you wouldn't be here. I'm just equipped with the experience needed to have a more complete understanding of how of a shitshow CIG is relative to all the other projects the developers could in theory be working on. Being a game dev is a special kind of autism when you could make more money, working less hours, and a gay stupid product that nobody gives a fuck about at all.
>>1572697Mister educated developer you are aware that sunk cost is not just money but also time. You spent 10 years, I've spent 6 months. If after 10 years you cannot see the same patterns over and over again then we cannot persuade you to manage your expectations. You are too far gone. You resort to whataboutism because deep down you know it's fucked. The game will come out, but if you think all the concepts and ideas will be fully fledged and actualised then you are deep in denial an din for a rude awakening. We all want this product but it's not really panning out and there are other alternatives.
>>1572683>It's just that it's really, really not worse than the rest of the businessName one other game in the video game industry with a similar budget and development time that has the level of bugs that star citizen has.
>>1572709This. https://youtu.be/5_Xdi4T8mgI?si=od8tFnJ3OXFHAPB3
>>1572704>if you think all the concepts and ideas will be fully fledged and actualisedWhere did I say this? Of course I don't think that. I'm just hoping to get something I'll consistently enjoy playing in the end. I'll be satisfied if I get 500 hours of gameplay out of SC. I got about 700 out of E:D.CIG has thrown so much shit out there over the lifetime of this project that anyone who doesn't realize it's obvious how much will need to be cut or refactored is truly delusional. I'm not clinging to that promise. All I ever wanted was Discovery Freelancer 2.0, which actually isn't looking that far off finally. You want to paint me as some completely brainwashed cultist and I get it because if you've only been on the ride for six months, you're going to be at about peak frustration with the playability of the game. Just fuck off for six months, or even a year. Uninstall. Stop following CIG news. Stop reading this thread. Spend no additional money on the game. Completely disconnect, go do something else. Come back in a year and start fresh. You'll start to get it.>there are other alternatives. If only. Unfortunately, there aren't.>>1572709Starfield, and it's a single player game with loading screens every 30 seconds. Talk about false equivalencies.
>>1572719>Starfieldbut starfield is actually playable, and not in alpha
>>1572723And it's universally considered one of the most disappointing releases in history. It's not fun. It does nothing interesting. It has no story. The setting is completely soulless. The FPS gameplay is worse than Fallout 4. The most engaged with feature of the game is a ripoff of fucking Jelly Ships from Kingdom hearts. You can't even do anything with your ship. Great release. Very playable.
>>1572719Starfield was released though and was half that budget. Also whether I'm here 6 months or 6 years everyone has the SAME problems regardless of time spent in the game. I talk to other players who have spent longer than me (they got me into it) and they are becoming disillusioned. Maybe you need to take a break and stop making excuses for CIG shitty project management. Hell, with your software background you could go off and make that Freelancer 2.0 game.
>>1572727>stop making excuses for CIGHaven't made a single excuse for CIG. That's your headcanon.>I talk to other players who have spent longer than me (they got me into it) and they are becoming disillusionedComplainers are always the loudest. Once the core team has a real month or two of time to work on unfucking 4.0 the game will genuinely be in the best state it has ever been. Their new approach to release management is a real improvement on the past model, and it will take 6 months to really mature and settle in. SQ42 now has a hard deadline for release which means there will be more and more staff freeing up as thst game moves into postproduction and polish.>with your software background you could go off and make that Freelancer 2.0 game.No I couldn't. I know my limitations, and I know better than to try and build my own dream game. I make more money working on stuff that I don't give a single shit about outside of its ability to keep direct deposit coming.
>>1572643The issue was that my character was corrupted from falling below the hangar floor. After running a character repair twice (resetting my login point) I was able to log in.
>>1572709Funny, I stuck with DayZ for the entirety of it's development and while it was a torturous massively delayed shitshow, it actually was released and stable after like 6 years. By a drunk band of Czechs locked in a concrete bunker.I really wonder what CIG is doing with all that cash and manpower
>>1572744either way the game can't survive being out of alpha at least at this point. hopefully six more months anon's optimism is correct
>>1572737Don't gas light me you disingenuous shit. You absolutely have been making excuses for CIG with your whatbaoutism rhetoric. I would hate to have you as a software developer because you have no sense of accountability
>>1572746100% this. the game is currently shit under any light, saying "well other shit stinks" does not change this fact.
>>1572747>>1572746>no uJust uninstall the game and go back to whatever FOTM /v/ is shilling. You really won't be missed. I'd actually prefer you both refund so I don't have to read your childish, salty whining about everything.
>scam shitizen doom posters kvetching for 11 straight years>game continues to progress anyway, albeit slowlyNobody ever said it was an efficient project. Nobody ever said it was an amazing value.
>>1572460yeah, the game is unstable as shit and these retards decided to fix the dupe first.Btw, >>1571245 is me. At least I didn't have a million in cargo

>>1572585>this game is never leaving alpha because once it does it loses all it's financial viabilityI don't think so at all, for every citizen that buys a ship there are a dozen players that haven't even touched the game because it's not out yet and full of bugs. They only make like 100M a year right now, after dev salaries and rent get taken out it's chump change in the video game market. A full release with a marketing blitz could bring in billions.
>>1572769im saying that it being in alpha is baked into the company's business model
>>1572642how the fuck are you people in industry so bad at coding? In my research group, we have a couple of underpaid grad students over the course of like 6 months>reverse engineer how nvidia schedules kernels> Invent and implement a state of the art locking protocol
>>1572769Hopefully they hire some QA testers before they do release the game.
>>1572769the intense negative publicity around the game, its current status as an absolute joke despite how much money it's brought in, how long it's been in development for, and the relatively niche core gameplay of "6DOF space ships + sim elements" mean this game is probably fucked on release.
>>1572778Nonsense, just look at No Man's Sky. The dev literally lied to the faces of his customers and somehow they're still selling copies and the company hasn't collapsed. There are tons of successful grifters hawking shitty games out there that don't offer the unique gameplay SC does.
>>1572786>No Man's Skyyeah but they fixed their game.>unique gameplaythis is a poorly executed elite dangerous clone
>>1572744>I really wonder what CIG is doing with all that cash and manpowerMaking S42
>>1572786NMS is an extreme exception, not the rule. you'd be better off looking at DNF.
>>1572789>this is a poorly executed elite dangerous cloneCome on now, CIG are also copying Rust and Tarkov.....Seriously what even is this game anymore? I just want to fly ships but the fundamentals are fucked and CIG are featuring creeping to absolute self sabotage.
>>1572786Its kinda funny that people shat hard on Todd but at the end of the day, comparing the very first versions of ED, NMS, SC and Starfield (despite the later having no seamless space-land transitions) the later was still a better game lol. Not even joking. I played them all except ED but I know ED didnt even have a land component in early versions.
>>1572773lol, you'll see. Your capstone project will be the most 'productivity' you achieve for the rest of your life as a software engineer. Working as a dev isn't working as a coder, it's working as part of a giant retarded organization full of individuals. Being a (successful) dev is still a people skills and strategy problem more than a technical one. Just wait.
>>1572883NMS and Starfield both suck, and E:D sucks too. All for different reasons. E:D Is the closest to being a good game but chose a terrible set of tradeoffs in the end.

>>1572561>>1572552You will be missed, by me.
>>1572651Come on anon, it's impressive how far SC has come without any kind of design or plan.
>>1572920Not right now anon, nothing works so its hard to do anything.

Come back to the thread to find a massive back and forth about CIG and state of SC.I've spent some 2000€ on this piece of shit, I work in the industry and can confidently say CIG is developing the game in a way nobody else would. And I think we can all agree on their ineptitude, they are not the best developers around. However, I think we can also all agree that there is something about the game - or at least in the promise of the game to be. Thats why you're all here, arguing about it.Most of you have been with the game longer than me, long enough to know CIG is like this - nothing new - nothing surprising. Game still has potential and still sucks ass.
>>1572933I've been doing comfy salvaging and haven't had any issues.
>>1572939Only problem with bounties are 2 bugs:1. Contracts not showing at all.2. Contracts not showing their markers.2b. Contracts showing their markers but not removing them.
>>1572940a lot of the anger comes from the absolute fumbling of the game. it feels like watching somebody drop a stack of plates but the plates are falling in extreme slow motion.>>1572946they were working for us last night but >it worked last nightis no guarantee with CIG anymore.
>>1572944Careful when going to sell RMC, careful in hangars in general. Just be careful. With luck you can do PANEL salvage in peace.
>>1572939>E:D uses an atmospheric flight model for space combatDid you seriously manage to play ED without ever learning how to disable flight assist?
>>1572950Oh I have a reclaimer and just mulch large ships. Other than server related issues and needing to visually scan the belt for salvage QD points it has been great.
>>1572727>>1572723Played through starfield and enjoyed it for what it is but even in its buggy unreleased state star citizen is a better game
>>1572969I tried my best to play starfield but two things prevented me.. Firstly the mods to tone down the diversity didn't want to work, secondly the story is such unbearable garbage when you reach the first city that its really hard to keep playing. The whole explorer society is such a shitty badly written and stupid looking garbage. Imagine having Jacques Cousteu's ship on display and NOTHING about the some 100 years of space discovery that has made humankind an interstellar species.
>>1572973Seriously anon. Come back in minimum 30 days. You chose the wrong time.
>>1572976The ship builder with its limitations really carried the game for me, i spent hours leveling and searching to get the parts and finally ended up with a ship i was happy with only to realize there wasn't anything to actually do with it
>>1572984I give you 8.5/10, which coming from me is a lot.I take it you own a jpg of Perseus?
>>1572990lol yes, im very excited for it, i love bridges above the ship on bigger vessels and seeing the guns in action from it
>>1572552I backed this game in 2012 and surely have thousands of hours in it. I don't blame you at all anon. it might be worth keeping a basic aurora pledge and forgetting about it for a couple years. maybe their QA guy will die and someone competent will take the position in that time.
>>1572984and you have to rebuild it from scratch if you go through the intended gameplay loop of NG+ing
>>1572899this game has really taken seven steps backwards
>>1572997Bepop is the one for me.
>>1572940>long enough to know CIG is like this - nothing new - nothing surprising.yeah. I still wanna know WHY are they like this? what the fuck is going on over there? they have hundreds of employees and a straight up cult dedicated to their product, and it's a product that despite it's ambition I feel like isn't anything actually that groundbreaking in videogames in 2025. but the product doesn't fucking work very well. devs should be able to do this without the amount of trouble they have.
>>1573015bongs are low IQ
>>1573015Almost every question can be answered with "squadron 42".All of the time and resources have gone into that game instead of the PU which has basically played 2nd fiddle to something that realistically will never make the money back.
>>1573033they've got teams in germany, the US and french canada. it can't all be inbred angloids>>1573051I hope you're right. about the resources anyway, if it's actually a proper game on par with say mass effect or the lasted cod it should make some bank and bring people to the project, who will then be horrified by the state of the PU
>>1573051This. Star Citizen is our dream. Squadron 42 is croberts dream. He's going to make thy critically acclaimed, star studded Wing Commander movie no matter what. Letting him make it is the real price of getting SC. This is just episode one.
>>1573061The problem with the Wing Commander movie wasn't an insufficiently high budget or high profile cast, but the fact that it was produced and directed by Chris Roberts. Now instead of a horrid 30 million dollar flop it will be a horrid 600 million dollar flop.
>>1573075idk i think SQ42 will be a hit, maybe not a 600 million dollar but a hit. i know i wanna get it because i would like to play a SQ42 Game without all the shitty inventory delay, AI not responding or missions bugging out. it would at the minimum work way better than SC.
>>1573088I think the mere lack of server issues is really gonna blow everybody away and make the public laser focused on what the real problem with the PU is.
>>1573075I think it's fair to say that someone can learn and improve. Even Chris Roberts. I think that SQ42 is going to be a good, and successful game. It will be cheesy. It will be cliche. It will be the best space action movie and FPS game in years.

There will be a ship inside filled with loot that you can fly away. >inb4 how do track mission Enter quantum mode, set a destination. >>1573500>it's an alphakill yourself
it's just constant retarded bullshit with this game, an absolute power couple of bad design and game breaking bugsthey added the repair missions but there is only a single place in the entire pyro system you can actually buy the repair tool; stanton gateway. I went there, bought it, bugged out and had to log, flew across the system to get there again, picked it up, then flew out of my hangar and immediately exploded after hitting an invisible dead ship that was not there when I landed. then the game fucking crashed and exited before I had the chance to quit in disgust.
>>1573500>they fired the QA teammaybe they fired the QA team because of the state the game is currently in and they're just seeking to hire more competent QA testers. even in the first 48 hours as a new player you encounter so many game-breaking bugs that i imagine testing and reporting requires a considerable amount of effort.
>>1573512>first 48 hoursthey push out new builds to players same-day, at best QA gets several hours to test it and even if they do find issues its probably just added to the "known issues" list unless its completely broken at start
>>1573518maybe the company is just terribly mismanaged then
>>1573521How could you not know that by now?
>>1573236Why would a mission pay you triple for having 3 people doing it? It's like people don't give a fuck about immersion or anything. Just how to dupe money and items like it's tarkov.
>>1573512As a new player the amount of game-breaking bugs is absolutely sickening. I have never in all my days encountered a game, alpha state or not, that has this many critical bugs even just for extremely basic game systems. When the game works it's fun but rarely is it working. I heard this current release is more broken than most previous ones but Jesus man, this is bad.
>>1573533It's an Alpha there is no point in accumulating wealth and stuff because it will get wiped. Be like me, just grab a cutter rambler and fly off to where ever and be a nomad. Much more fun.
>>1573236Watching you retards seethe over this is peak. When you hire a guy to build a house and be brings in 3 labourers do you pay those 3 labourers the full price for the house you were quoted individually? This game has a money issue in general, basically you can either be a metaslave faggot and use exploits and become obscenely rich overnight or play normally and have a long fucking grind.I do the latter and I'm getting sick of metaslave scum making obscene money within 4 weeks then wipe begging until the next patch.
>>1573592>hire four laborers to build a house>one clips halfway through the ground and starts violently shaking>one mysteriously died on the way to the site but you can call a new one if you wait 15 minutes>you have two laborers left but half the workforce is floating midair and disappears into the clouds while the other fell through the floor the moment they stepped onto the property>you've already paid to have a house built and after being met with a housing error you attempt to reenter the neighborhood only to find that your property belongs to someone else>you try and file an insurance claim but the contract doesn't exist anymore and your money is gone and the laborers are nowhere to be foundmaking arguments about immersion in this game is a little suspect
>>1573665I kind of understand your point but also think balancing the game around it being shit and buggy sets a bad precedent and either way it was fucking stupid that 4 people could share 4 missions and just quadruple their profits by doing solo work.
>>1573666yeah they probably would need to do a bit of balancing for the rewards based on difficulty and amount of people involved. but i haven't played this game long enough to know how cig handles stuff of this nature.

Why is there so much bullshit and tedium in the game designed to waste your time? Why do I still have to sit and wait after I pay a fee for expedited insurance delivery on a starter ship? Why does there still need to be a hunger and thirst meter? I thought everyone learned a long time ago that shit sucks in every game it's ever been implemented in.Why are there more 10x more bugs than any other game in existence, even just comparing it to early access games, especially when the game has been in development for over a decade with nearly a billion in funding? Why is the inventory system the worst inventory system out of any game ever? Why is looting dead NPCs/players so incredibly difficult? How are basic game systems like inventory and looting this dysfunctional after over a decade in development? Why is your inventory tied to your armor in the first place? Why is there such a focus on realism that leads to a worse gameplay experience? (again, see food and water meters)I just started playing at the beginning of the year and these are only the beginning of my questions about this game in my time playing it.
>>1573696It will stay on your account until they do a full database wipe, and then leading up to a liva "1.0" release, you'll have to pay ingame cash to insure and warranty any ingame bought ships.
>>1573716>It will stay on your account until they do a full database wipeDoes 3.2 to 4.0 count as a full database wipe then? So if I played in 3.2 and got enough in-game currency to buy a ship it won't be on 4.0 and the same going forward for other versions that have character wipes?
>>1573720If you mean the 3.24.3 patch that's up right now, then no, nothing you earn in that patch will carry over, only progress on the 4.0_PREVIEW channel will carry on. CIG (tries to) avoids doing database wipes where they can, but at any point if something goes horribly wrong, they will wipe. You can at the very lest except one going into a beta stage, and then another wipe for the full release.

Whats the best stealth ship to kill targets at range using only weapons (no missiles or torpedoes)?
>>1574086Prowler with high range S5's I guess since it has innate detection reduction bonuses and you have two backup size 3's if things don't go to plan. The real answer is the Eclipse or Retaliator and just insurance fraud the torpedoes with a 5 minute or 8 minute reclaim timer.
>>1573965ok so if you serve prison time and your elevator is bugged it corrupts your character making it so that legal contracts no longer appear for you. the fix is to go back to prison on a server where the elevator is working and serve time again and the contracts should reappear.it blows my mind how inept the developers are for this game are it's as if they don't even try out the things they develop they just make sure it compiles and push it

>>1574086Not sure why you don't want missiles. Buy a firebird. You can one shot most light ships and kill most medium ships in a couple of volleys with complete impunity. Dogfighting in stealths is hit or miss.
>>1574223I heard there are hard difficulty NPC's in pyro that bombard you with missiles in a much more violent manner than stanton ships. Maybe it will work there.
>>1574236The cost to restock the missiles is insane.

I met someone last night that said they've spent over $64,000 on the game and that Chris Roberts has an incredible vision and once the game is fully released it's going to be the most amazing thing ever. How are these people real? I get that when you're that rich it's probably just pennies in the bucket. But goodness how do you spend that much money on a videogame that is in a perpetually broken and forever unreleased state and still believe in it?
>>1574396>How are these people real? Some people use Star Citizen for investments and/or money laundering schemes. Supposedly.

A lot of people talk about what makes this alpha bad, but enough of that. What makes this alpha good?
>>1575490Only just a 1 time fee of $45 minimum for the MMO, 24/7 access to the alpha and those few and far between fleeting moments that truly linger with you and goad you into thinking they can really pull it off (also meeting plenty of /scg/ tards who I'd crew a Polaris with anyday)—that's all I have to say about this project going on 11 years since backing it...

>>1575533nono you misunderstood me. being able to access something is not a descriptor of the quality of that thing. nor is being able to play with people who you may or may not enjoy playing with because you can just install skype or discord and do that too.im asking what aspects of this alpha make it good and enjoyable to play? what are the best game loops in it that make you say: this is better and more fun than anything else out there?
>>1575596>what are the best game loops in it that make you say: this is better and more fun than anything else out there? It's difficult for me to judge the "fun" of any game loops in this game right now vs others because they're either (less than) half-implemented, completely broken, general server troubles and bugs interfering with them, or all of the above, so my answer is none of them. Enjoyment of a thing is subjective regardless of its current state, but knowing they are nowhere near the level of completion they should be, as well as the aforementioned issues, will always kill any "fun" to be had, and it happens so frequently that why would anyone bother wasting the time and effort? I'll concede that at the very least some of them are not Starfield/ED levels of bland, but for fuck’s sake, it's been 13 years of development, and we are still stuck with tier 0 shit.Tl;DR >lol, lmao
>>1575596>>1575668I also have to point out that you are asking this question during a time when Star Citizen has, and is continuing to, push out some of the most unstable, broken, shitty and controversial patches in this projects' history, along a growing negative sentiment across all Star Citizen focused social media platforms, including r*ddit, the most kiss ass of them.

I bet Haddock had nothing to do with it. Exhibit B: pic related. ok, you have multiple professionally made and printed signs for the kiosk, which are spelled wrong? what? why? where's the story here, how did this happen? and then they spray painted the rest of the sign on after. this makes no sense at all, and is purely playing off the trope that the criminals can't spell and all their signs are salvaged and spraypainted, but in a nonsensical way.

>>1575490it has prevented a non-zero number of furry art commissions
>>1575759I don't really understand why Pyro looks like space India to a ridiculous degree
>>1575814why? because they got lazy in the design department. it's just plain uninspired. it's literally bethesda Fallout, which was bad enough, except that already exists, so they lazily ripped off an uninspired design direction just because the games were popular.

>>1575896Concierge may have done that years ago but now no way (unless you're the super duper ultra whale concierge group).
it's right there in the hangar you guys, no whale masseuse needed
i realize this game is just a higher class project entropia the bugs serve as a money sink to encourage people to purchase ships with real money that's why they're so quick to patch money exploits instead of bugs like your ship gets destroyed six times out of ten upon hangar retrieval
>>1575955>project entropiasorry entropia universe
>>1575814I can offer one explanation. There has been a trash trend of sorts in environment art, the latest trend started from Deus Ex Human Revolution where it was highlighted how random crap were used to make levels feel lived in.It's gotten so big in that discipline that they even hired a trash-modder from elder scrolls games to trash up(and kinda ruin since you can loot it all) Starfield. Now this in mind remember that CIG is (somewhat smartly) reusing pieces of levels to make content, all the space stations are the main example. They should use it only as a base and populate props with procedural/random and by hand, but they don't.What this all leads to is the env artist makes a pyro station arms trader with boxes stacked randomly in their shop. Now because they quickly reuse the same shop, those crates are going to be stacked in that very same way everywhere. So their obsession with trashing up the place is kinda ruining the illusion too.But it's clearly style over substance, I imagine the implications of all those barrel and trashcan fires in the stations.
>do a mercenary mission>things are going smoothly for once>okay i'll do another>complete the mission>load up crate with loot>try to put crate in ship but it wont lock into the grid>uh oh>Server Error. Please wait...>It's okay these things usually resolve themselves in a few minutes>LEAVE AREA OR YOU WILL BE TRESPASSING IN 20:24>it's been 20 minutes and I'm still stuck on server errorSo in two days doing mercenary missions I've only managed to lose about 70k credits net income. Are there more stable ways of making money?

>>1575978Mercenary mi- oh...
>>1575978Go to Pyro, start doing headhunter missions on Bloom
>>1575978Outside of blind luck, the BJ>A18 hauling gives 96k/trip (30mins if you are fast[atls]), all contracts give ok money but they work very unreliably. You could get 1scu box and go loot bunkers or asteroid bases and sell the gear.If you get bounties working, you can try to do them with call to arms mercenary mission and it sometimes spawns extra ships. Not worth anything alone but some of the ships have S4 and S5 guns that are pretty valuable.Problem is that there is no guarantee any of these are doable as the game is so unstable
>say fuck it decide to do another mercenary mission>complete it, don't even bother to loot anything except guns>you will be trespassing in 30 minutes etc.>turret shoots at my ship destroying itliterally unfun.
Why would anyone submit themselves to doing bunker missions when Pyro exists? Everything there is worth twice the amount it does in Stanton

>>1576006Stanton bunkers don't have endless respawning (not all at least)Stanton works 300% more reliably than pyroAll ADHD griefkiddies are in pyroNta but I can think of a few reasons.
oh nevermind the elevator in prison glitching out doesn't affect your ability to accept contracts afterwards, just getting out of prison period makes it so that you can't accept legal contracts
>>1576092Ingame someone said you need to get cs1 (eg. Trespassing) and remove it by paying the fine, then the contracts work again.
>>1575978Ask someone in global chat to give you their Reclaimer or Vulture. Reclaimer can pull 1.5m every 50-60 minutes so you can easily buy your own vulture and the loaned vulture you can just leave in your persistent hangar until the inevitable bug related death of it.
I can bear a lot of bugs lag and glitches but my character has been infected with a "Red X of death" std of a bug that i believe i got from ramming a Polaris.First time entering the pilot seat of a ship in a session I will crash, almost a guarantee. The animation will play and at the end a red hit marker will play, i'll freeze up, and crash.I can log back in and ill be "attuned" to that ship for the session, able to get in and out as I please but if try to enter a different ship, or lose my previous one and re-spawn it, i have to go through the process again, combined with the long loading times this is just fucking brutal. It also essentially locks me out of some gameplay (Taking hoverbikes to bunkers, roc mining, etc) its turbo aids and nothing ive done fixes it i hate this so much
>>1576167Star Citizen has achieved spiritual level where griefing, exploiting and playing like an ass ruins your karma, making you live like a husk of a man.

Cargo hauling, commodity hauling, and mercenary missions are bugged as shit making it difficult to get any sort of foothold especially with no legal contracts. Is mining profitable?
>>1576180 Bounty hunting missions are also broken.in pyro and targets bug out and don't register when you kill them
>>1576180Cant use global chat?Sounds like a positive to me.
