i want to like ddoit has a nice mix on horizontal and vertical progressionit has lots of ways to have character expression and there isn't just one optimal meta for everything (mostly)but i think the horizonal bit is a bit too long when you are like "ok I need a 2 year plan to work on this one thing to improve my character" and there are multiple things like thatgiving out ddo points for free is good, but then they make expansions cash only for 6 months and you have to pay $120 to get all of the content for itand then they make the rare drops in the expansions take 2 years of farming with 6 accounts funneling gear to one doing the weekly limit on a chest... unless you whale on shards to reroll the chestsalso the combat is a little too passive and boomercorei can totally see why people that started playing it a decade ago are still playing thoughkinda the same as mabinogi

You're not losing everything, just what you take out.Your character survives, and you'll have other suits and weapons waiting in your hangar and warehouse.Vanilla crafting and mining is pretty rough honestly. Mining is slow and boring but has an oddly high APM for what it is, to the point that most players run scripts to mine for them.Running mining scripts is not only allowed on every server, but expected or even encouraged. I used to run a mining script overnight and feed the materials to a friend so we could keep up with the larger teams on the enemy faction, or at least not be too far behind.Having said that, apparently it's much better on DOA as you can buy most non-rare materials with credits. Might end up being kinda chill, comparatively.There's a little bit of customization involved when you craft a mobile suit. You can install specific engines (higher tier, ground or space type, etc) and apply up to 8 points worth of upgrades to its damage, accuracy and armour with upgrade kits to better suit its role. The 8th upgrade in a category takes a special material though, so conventional wisdom is 7 and 1 to two categories.Weapons are just RNG to get high quality, based on I believe the delta of your skill and the required skill.Clothing crafting is something I'm not at all familiar with but I know crafted clothes grant stats to your pilot that are quite useful too.
