Neo Champions made sense in that at least they had new clothes and new Pokemon. I didn't always care for the choices of characters but it at least showcased a Pokémon other than what'd you'd expect.

Arc Suits are just "power up clothing" with a Pokémon you already know. Not Cynthia using a Pokémon later than Sun/Moon, not Lance using a Dragon Pokémon from another region. Not Steven making use of a new Rock or Steel Pokémon later than his PWT team. Just their Aces with a stronger move because of the power of "Bonds" and shit.

I like the idea of retrains, particularly for older trainers that SHOULD be very powerful but because they were released early kind of suck.
The implementation was the problem. Retrains should be 'free' but require some kind of significant investment. Make it so that arc suits require the original trainer at 150, 5/5 or something and release some new currency. Then provide the banners which let you roll the character already unlocked.

Arc Suits should be the result of lots of work and investment and then DENA can release them on the gacha for people who want to get them right away.

The game is the greediest it's ever been so I don't recommend it. You're basically going to be stuck with very few units for a long time because of the bad banner system and how few gems you get per month. For reference the game 2 years ago had anniversaries give around 35 to 40k gems while it takes 36k gems to guarantee one character. Now it's 24k gems and they increased the amount from this new banner type to 45k gems to guarantee 1 unit.

If you are really willing to, try to start and soft-reset to get Arc Suit Steven and possibly Arc Suit Cynthia. The problem is that these new units require a very limited resource to level up for better usage (Cynthia requires it more than Steven, he is a beast from 1/5 already).
As the others said, the game is not as generous as before, but for new accounts, you can easily get up to around 40k gems just by playing the story and other permanent content that doesn't require stamina, so you can pretty much aim to get one or two of these new overpowered units... After that, this month is giving reruns of some units that will be useful... The game itself is more fan-service in terms of character interactions, so you'd possibly have fun with it as long you like more the trainers.

Cynthia doesn't really have a character arc desu. She is a supporting character in the original games and is seemingly perfect already. There's no hangups or character flaws that can be used to develop a story, other than maybe she's a kind of messy because of her research but that is shown to be more endearing or gap moe than a flaw and she has no relationship where it has shown to be a problem/doesn't strain any of her known friendships like Caitlin. It's why her story here is so weak it's just another generic "I want to battle someone stronger/becomes stronger" thing. Even now with the Volo mysterious stone story it's her wanting to become stronger.

In the anime they literally had to make up shit that she was getting old and wanting to retire, and are friends with Diantha, whom she confided, only to then take it back after being beaten by Ash. Masters did extrapolate something meaningful from her back when Cyrus was introduced. They had her reconsider how she dealt with Cyrus with her utter rejection of him in Platinum. She was ready to deal with him like that again in Masters because of how dangerous she considered him, but seeing how the younger generation like Sophocles was trying to connect with and understand him made her realize that maybe she was in the wrong, and that she should have prioritized showing him a different path. Ultimately, Cynthia as a character didn't really go past this, and it was more in service of developing Cyrus as a character. He comes to the conclusion that rather than try to erase the incomplete spirit, he should consider trying to find a way to complete it instead since he sees that it holds value.

Seeing a year 1 story like this is kind of melancholy. You can see how the story actually linked with the battle segments and you actually got challenged like in actual Pokémon games. Nowadays you just fight nondescript Team Break goons or whatever random NPCs. The stories aren't deliberately crafted like this either.

1. Are the pieces for the medal cumulative? In other words, do I have to use all 18 types in one week or do they carry over? Im assuming it's the latter but the game never clarifies.
2. What exactly does Master Mode do?

You can't clear with all the types at once (15 pairs max) so you need two weeks to get them all

Master mode is just a way to have more rewards and have custom rules like no Field effect, no Statuts but it also power up the opponent with more HP, Attack, Def, can Sync early etc.
If you want to post your clear here you have to clear the CS with 15k points (the maximum possible for now). If you only want the rewards 10K point is easy

Strenght boost level i think so it's better than just "Boost Attacks stats" and shit like Standard Damage reduction mean that only SE damages will do damages. If you use a fire move against Sidney for exemple he will take something like 500 damages at best

This one needs 60,000 sync orbs, if you run 1/5 or 3/5 (Adrenaline) C Red or SC Steven you can drop Super Preparation refreshing for another +25 Sync node.

The calcs use the preset stats and should not reflect the DC base stats but still provide a general comparison and his kit making his sync easier to maximize or get close to it.
