A thread to discuss Jynx, the original waifu of Pokémon.I was in third grade when the original games came out and Jynx (and Mr. Mime to a slightly lesser extent) was such an anomaly as she resembled a human versus an animal. She was especially bizarre as she had prominent breasts and looked like an Aunt Jemina-esque black woman, blurring the line between human and Pokémon. She also has far and away the strangest cry and aside from Lola, the Jynx that can be traded for, this creature has no near and cannktnbe caught in the wild and the only othee instance of kne beinf seen is the battle with Lorelei.Kids at school made fun of Jynx a lot but at that age, anything remotely related to tits was a huge target for both ridicule and intrigue. Since Jynx was a traded Pokémon she gained experience quicker and I found her quite useful. I got kind of attached to Lola and wondered what her story was, where she came up.It seems now that there are over one thousand Pokémon Jynx has been largely forgotten alongside ones that used to be fairly prominent like Jigglypuff or Poliwhirl.In 2024, how do you feel about Jynx? It's got a neat toolkit all things considered but ultimately the mon is not my cup of tea. a Mega Jynx or a Jynx evo shouldn't be a difficult brief to meet, the fans have been doing decent fakemon around this idea for a while. kind of a fan of the 'wagnerian brunhilde opera singer' idea.

I'm a big fan of the "fat Nordic opera singer" idea for her. Maybe she can have an ability that makes all sound attacks ice type? I also like that she has horns as a callback to the oni inspirations of Magmar and Electabuzz.
