We have a broken "Do the Wave" deck that gets countered by a "Haymaker" deck, which in turn gets countered by a Grass deck. a lot of people seem to be new to the tcg and are posting retarded decklists so here is a brief guide to deckbuilding.-you only need 2 or (less likely) 3 pokemon lines in your deck. any more than that shits up your deck.-there's only really a few worthwhile trainer cards. every deck should have 2 research (best trainer currently), sabrina, and pokeball. all the 'specific' supports are probably worth using if you're building a deck that that has cards they target. The rest are not always auto-includes.Giovanni- most likely you'll want this card but actually think about what breakpoints you're hitting with the +10. your charizard deck might not care about 200 -> 210.X speed- the other "probably should run but not always" card. way better if you have any 1 retreat pokemon (most decks) but it stops really being a tempo win when you still need to pay a big retreat cost.Potion- the last "pretty good" trainer card. it's basically filler since nothing better exists to replace it in some decks. (as an aside, think about what attack you're trying to survive by playing this card. stop using potion on your 10hp pokemon)Red card- this card is bad, but it is the sort of card that could become bannably good in the future. right now your opponent won't be ending their turn with a big hand unless they're bricked, in which case you're just helping them. will be the counter to any excessive card draw that releases in the future though. will also become busted if "your opponent discards a card from their hand" type effects are released, since you can set them to 2. Against most meta decks, it's fine because I usually predict the type (usually psychic), and it's absolutely hilarious when I take down a Mewtwo with its own attack.

>>56844613I change the type every game, yeah. When I'm random queueing, I'll just think "Hope I fight x deck". Granted, my odds aren't THAT good, because I could always end up fighting anything, but I've had moderate success going mono grass, mono psychic, and mono electric. I know it's a "dude trust me" flex, but I've taken down meta decks with this nonsensical deck. I've beaten two Pikachu Ex decks (literally only two, they wreck me hard every other time), at least five Mewtwo Ex decks (~40% win rate here), and one Charizard deck (I've only fought one, so 100% winrate here). I do get horrible matchups though, like the random fighting type user, but those aren't total stomps; I do put up one hell of a fight with what I have on hand. I tried using multiple energy types, but that always backfired. Water Elec expecting Articuno or Pikachu, but get Mewtwo. Fire Psychic expecting one of those, but get nothing but the wrong type of energy most of the time. It annoys me too much so I just guess a type, pick it, and queue up. If I get it right, then I hope my opponent gets a good laugh. If I get it wrong, I hope my opponent finds it amusing. If I win, I hope my opponent is baffled but entertained. If I lose, oh well; I had fun bringing an oddball deck.
