I think that's an interesting idea. Liko seperated Amethio from the explorers by how he acts, seeing or finding out more about Gibeon could take it into a different direction.

As for the evolution part, it's not explained in the episode but the games made it clear that Hisuimons were evolving and influenced by their enviroment and Hisui was under different conditions than Sinnoh. Kleavor just fell off as the natural course of evolution progressed.

Gym battles, trainer battles, whatever. Pokemon is more interesting when it's trainers vs trainers, not a bunch of trainers ganging up on one Pokemon trying to calm it down or whatever. I don't think a single person would disagree in good faith. Iono, Ryme, and Grusha were used exceptionally well to push the main trio forward as characters and give them a hurdle to clear. That type of adversity isn't manifesting at all in these Six Heroes storylines. Instead, we're getting a lot of exposition, very little in the way of battle creativity, and climaxes that feel less personal to the main cast. We keep having to hear about Lucius and it's just not a good hook, it's not interesting, I don't need to learn more about this old boring dude.

LiRoyDot are good characters but this show is so fucking busy that they barely have time to interact, have funny moments, or bond with their Pokemon (and each other's Pokemon). The fundamentally overcrowded premise of this series is handicapping the likable protagonists and the fun setting. The previous arc pared things down a lot and the show was better for it, even if you don't like the SV gym leaders (I don't like them either).

I also don't really agree with this outside of the point that they don't interact with each other's Pokemon a whole lot. Even the Second arc (which people accuse of being the worst thus far given it's "filler" and it being the peak of Friede and Cap having to save their asses every time) had a ton of interaction moments between them and their mons whether it be through training, eating, or just spending time together. We literally just had an episode whose entire purpose was for Roy to get a better understanding of Crocalor's POV.

Though to be fair to modern anime, I can't remember the last time I saw anime parents where they looked more like siblings, but I've seen it enough times growing up where it started to seem weird. Parents grown in clone vats and mass produced so they can die off screen in their child's flashback.
