How can anyone stand this unfun shit game? Too many turn 2 I win cards if you want to play something like golem you may as well just stick your thumb in your ass

It's kind of funny how many people I see trying to double retreat when they get poisoned. Then they instantly concede.
>>56930923poison makes anyone panic retreat even if they don't have anything else with energy on it
>>56930908I got Gardevoire a few days ago but I'm still missing Kirlia fml. I guess I could just buy it with points
Why are there 2 threads
Pidgeot is so much funNot sure what to pair him with though; arbok doesn't really seem powerful enoughRape ape seems pretty good to snipe any bench basics, but I only have 1

>>56930908>Have 4 Mewtwo ex>0 Gardevoir
>>56931023That’s been my experience for about 5 picks in a row. Very glad that I didn’t waste a bunch of hourglasses on that shit.
Finally a good pack. Pikachu EX one day so I can meta deck.
>>56930738FRIEND CODE
lol this deck makes pikachu ex people always concede around turn 4
>>56928657I've been tearing people to shreds with this deck with only the 1 pika and still I'd still want raichu instead of heliolisks. Zapdos and Pikachu enable to fuck out of eachother.
>full charizard line>full art charizard>two machamps exI just want primeape
>>56931421>pulling on zard packs>two 2star rarity cards>five 1star rarity cards>two standard ex cards>eight rares (triple diamond)Yet I still don’t have a single ninetales or primeape. I certainly would love to run anything that isn’t pika…if the game would give me a few uncommons kek.
>>56931421>>56931490None of this is even remotely strange. In fact, I would expect it. You're just discovering why booster packs are predatory. It takes over 80 packs to get a playset of the commons in a pack.
Please, please, please, can I have a alt/illustrated art Charmeleon?
>>56931553Only if he decides to stop living in the bottom of my deck.
Do the lower difficulty have better drop rates on Lapras? At 25 packs and still don't have one and the event is ending soon.
>>56931490I feel you broI finally got my second ape today, and it's so much better to not have to fuck around with one
After facing 20+ Mewtwos in the past two days, all of whom drew their Gardevoir line within the first 4 turns, I'm confident in saying that Mewtwo itself isn't even the problem. Don't get me wrong, it's a great card, but it has its weaknesses. It uses Potion better than any other pokemon in the game, it hits a lot of really good breakpoints, but it's still mortal. All Mewtwo itself is really doing is being the most efficient "tool" for Gardevoir's busted ass. There's no other deck in the game where you're never required to actually take a risk. Every single other deck in the game, the thing you put the most effort into has to move into the active spot in order to actually make use of that effort. If I want to attack with the Charizard I charged up, I have to put it in the active spot. But Gardevoir isn't like that. Gardevoir is the most valuable card on the board at all times, but it never has to risk anything in order to win the game. You can charge up the thing in the active spot while Gardevoir is safely in the back.Nothing else compares to the level of value Gardevoir pumps out every turn while staying completely safe. Not Pidgeot, not Hypno, not Butterfree, nothing. In the future, when we get other value engines, it'll be fine, but right now it's literally a card from like 4-5 sets in the future that's been dropped into the core set.Easiest nerf in the game - Gardevoir can only use its ability while in the active spot. You're welcome.

You keep the Event Hourglasses.
>>56931771FUCK
>>56931768No real decks, just whatever I've built from booster packs. I am sure I can just keep playing the battles again until I get a great start but it's boring
>>56931750I'm with you, I like the AI battles. was hoping there would be another event but apparently not
>>56931725Yeah to be honest I don't know what I was thinking. And Victreebel can drag ANY basic pokemon into the active spot, that's crazy. Good thing it can't do it from the bench, whew.
>>56931797Which missions are gatekeeping you at 26/30? Also, you should try to only open from one specific pack to build one specific deck. For your Electric deck, you could try cutting down on monsters and focusing on rushing out Pikachu or Zapdos. If you can get closer to picrel, try that.
>>56931822I have to buy some of the cards with tickets (which I have) but I think I'm only one Sabrina off from this deck, thanks anon I'll try it
>>56931822Beating starmie with a fire deck, plus the rarity challenge but my fire deck will satisfy it. And Pikachu with water, then Mewtwo with fighting. Still gonna build up the Pikachu deck though based on your recommendation and work on the other decks
>>56931771well shit thought i was being efficient and used all of them. oh well nothing $20 cant fix lol.
>>56931831You should probably save your tickets for other pokemon if you're pulling from the pack that has them. Sabrina is an OK pick if you aren't pulling from Charizard.>>56931844I won't tell you to get good, but I will tell you to get lucky. Just reset until the CPU has a bad hand and you have a good one. I was able to beat the Expert CPU with both decks in picrel. Technically the Blainepill deck is the easiest because it's high risk/reward. For me, I went second with Vulpix lead and Ninetales in hand, Tail Whipped, and then Shot down whatever was in the lead. With luck the CPU couldn't evolve it yet so it was Psyduck or Staryu. For my Charizard deck I got lucky with Moltres flips while charging up the Charizard line, and then when it got KO'd, I shot down her team with Blast Burn.
I will never get a Sabrina card>just spend 70 exchange poin-I refuse.
>>56931866wonderpick it

I know pull rates in this game are probably more realistically based on the actual TCG by design, but I noticed DeNA also produces MastersEX. I don't know how to calculate probability or statistics, but I recall MastersEX having 10% chance to pull 5* on some banners. What's the percentage chance that you'll pull a 4 Diamond EX - Crown Gold at all, if you consider them all together?

>>56932223Stfu Kyogre
Even once you do pull Charmeleon from the packs, the problem is you'll have trouble pulling it from the deck. Just lost a game because both Charmeleon were in my last 4 cards. The evo supporter/item cards can't come soon enough.

>>56932235I'm terrible at math, but 24% doesn't sound realistic at all. The idea that roughly 1/4 packs is supposed to have a basic EX or better goes against the sales model for the average Gacha game, and I don't think it's my experience so far at all. Are they lying about their pull percentages?

However, you don't get the unselected 4 cards back. Those are the cost of trading. Further, just like wonder picking, it's all random. You don't get to see which card you pick.

>>56932702Damn I never even noticed Machamp had a special version it looks great.
>opponent is clearly winning>fails a Misty, but it doesn't really matter for him>he concedes the matchUh, thanks, I guess.
>>56932711Very few viable partners, most is just deck filler.I don’t have Articuno so in my dragon deck it’s Bruxish, Meowth, and Aerodactyl. This deck is not optimal.
>>56932776Salt is powerful
>>56930929I've been using NidoBock but I feel like you need to get pretty lucky for it to work. When it does however it's strong.Mind to post full?
I need replays
>>56932776Did you just play me? I run the "I'm confident at flipping heads!" phrase and concede immediately if Misty fails me regardless of advantage
>>56931683kek mistysisters are lower than any other lifeform. I could build any Articuno deck but it's just not fun, not even to win with
>>56932507Sounds like a bad deck. Unlike Pikachu and Starmie, Mewtwo is quite slow.
>>56932791sure, here you go, pretty basic but does the job
>>56932805Dunno, I was playing a discount Blastoise EX deck.
is there a deckbuilder site yet?
>>56932765Cute
>>56932684Your math is wrong because you’re forgetting the potential to wake up after your turn. There are two scenarios where you’ll be rolling for wake-up for a second time before your turn (tails/tails and tails/heads).
>>56932431This is the most probable >>56932542 I would be surprised of the opposite. Also, you can trade only base forms up to 3 diamond rarity
>>56932840It's on the OPhttps://play.limitlesstcg.com/tournaments/completed?game=POCKET&format=all&platform=all&type=online&time=4weeks
>>56932827Exactly like mine but full art GioWith enough luck this deck can beat any other deck in 5 turns, pretty crazy
>2nd EX Blasty from Pika boostersFunny seeing how I had to WP both EX Venusaurs and Charizards. Anyways, is there any good Blastoise deck out there? So far I was running some weird homebrew with 2x Tentacruel, 1x EX Arti and 1x EX Blastoise line
>>56932855more often than not Arbok does all the heavy lifting, but if I can get Nidoking fully built it's pretty much over from there
>>56932750no thanks dust is useless
>>56932765>two evolinesSeems awful
>>56932877caterpie can fill your hand with grass types regardless of if they're basic or not easy
>>56930738I'm running an insane deck with Jolteon Vaporeon (both x1) and some colorless attacking shitters like Golbat and Mienshao (also x1 each), one Ditto as well. It's definitely a meme but it's fun as fuck, can't wait to add Flareon to it. I also tried a Helioptile Frosmoth version but it's not that much of an improvement. Would run a Colorless attacking Fire type if there were any, and Whimsicott is absolute ass. Want to put either Persian or Spearow or Pideot line when I complete them
>>56932881caterpie can also die in a single turn and then you have 1 less caterpie to evolve and the other one is at the bottom of your deck.
I think I figured it out. >fire up wonder pick>ask nearby kid to pick one>she missed the Pika Ex>nailed the full art Electrode (my first Electrode)I'm happy. I need Electrodes and I really like this full art.The key is having someone else pick for you. It greatly reduces the RNG from detecting your desire, which brings it much closer to a true 20% chance. Add in the off-chance that your picker has ESP, and those odds skyrocket. You just have to make sure that they know nothing about either: tcgs, pokemon, or whatever you're aiming for. The less they know about all 3, the better. I think, perhaps, the best practice would be to either rotate pickers or choose a new one every time, if possible, to make sure that their picks are fresh.
>>56931863Drop the red card for another Blaine and you've got a respectable deck there.
>>56932843honestly, what are we even arguing about here, that wigglytuff and vileplume are overpowered?because the original posit was>put a limit on the sleep status. Should be max one turn onlyobviously if you apply it again your opponent is gonna have to deal with it, again. that rule change wouldn't even do anything about that.
Fuck
>>56932943>>56932952sry wrong pic
tryin to get as many of the ai battle rewards by auto battling. not sure if the AI can do it for the top tier, but i have completed all the rewards on the first 2 now
I have done like 50 wp total excluding the free event picks and I have yet to get a single card I wanted. 20% my ass.
Was shitting myself at the matchup until I realized lil bro here didn’t read the conditions for his Pika attack. What a baffling deck; he had a Wiggly Ex too
>>56932890There is also Swanna for colorless water but its alot of energies for a meh 1 stage. Was hoping to encounter a deck like yours.
>>56932921I misunderstood the other anon’s post, and he responded with bad math. I’m also pretty shit with statistics, but I *think* the probability of something like wigglytuff having your active sleep for two of your turns is actually 25%. (tails/heads/tails + tails/tails/heads) or (12.5 + 12.5)I don’t think it’s broken, personally.
>>56933023You mean he missed lethal by trying to use pika ex with an empty bench?
>>56933051Yeah first time I have seen a zero damage Pika. That other Pika wasn’t on the bench during his first strike.
>>56933051He means that that little china man's deck is effectively useless. A Pika Ex that isn't mono-electric is completely gimping the deck. Articuno doesn't help or need Pikachu in any situation. And Ditto is a bit of a joke card that you can throw in for fun if you have an extra slot and correctly believe that red card is a meme.
>>56933051Are you a Yugioh player?
>two of this fucker>immersive pikachu ex and regualr pikachu ex>no voltorbs>one electrode>one raichui'm gonna kms
>>56932957I own this card irl :)>>56933069Just buy them with pack points dude
>>56933069Are you stupid? You don't need Voltorbs or Raichus. Hell you don't even really need Zapdos EX. You literally just need Pikachu and the rest is just icing on the cake.
>>56933074i've spent all my pack points on giovannis
>>56933068kek
>>56932846It'd allow 4 diamonds too. Sure they're ex, but they're required for deck building. Stars and above are the rare collector shit.
>tfw ywnb as happy as this nidoking
>>56932747Surely someone will trade a full art misty for my full art brock.
>>56933095Feels so good to win the game with her.I just showed a Dugtrio player what’s up a few matches ago. Congrats
>>56933035It's literally 50% per coinflip. The odds by definition are halved every time. For you to stay asleep for 2 of your turns needs 3 Tails coinflips in a row, hence 12.5%.Including Wigglytuff into this is an irrelevant point. Yes, if you're using Wigglytuff every turn anyways, the coinflip from the end of your turn doesn't matter, but who really cares about that?
>>56933032I mean I'm using dual Electric / Water energies so I'm good to use better mons than Swanna, like Cloyster or Omastar that use just 1 Water + 2 colorless. Thing is I want to avoid mons that require more than 2 energies to hit as the main attacker is Jolt and tank Vaporeon. Honestly using 1 colorless energy shitters allow to divert all production to Eevees and in some matchups to Ditto even. The flipside is that if you don't find Eevolutions you're fucked. So the version with more solid mons like Helioptile and Frosmoth is generally safer, but I didn't test it much as having 4 types is funnier
>>56933104Surely someone will trade their full art Sabrina for my full art Koga
>>56933103I got this card just now, I love that art. Both Nido full arts are so cute
>>56933125Shame how bad Nidoqueen is, setup conditions need insane rng
>log in>do pulls>blind wonder pick>collect 4 hourglasses>collect tranny ticketsIt's nice being a stylish man. I don't even have to play the game anymore.
Who's a good partner for pidgeot?Rape ape is very fun, but with him you either win in three turns or get rolledPidgeot is very fun too, but I'm not sure who works with himI have two Pidgeot immersives, so I want to use them
>>56933141Aerodactyl.
Is there really nothing new happening until the 22nd? I thought that they would stuff our gullet with constant events since the game just came out.
>>56933116>For you to stay asleep for 2 of your turns needs 3 Tails coinflips in a row, hence 12.5%Except with something like wigglytuff ex, that isn’t true, assuming it doesn’t get the knockout outright. Outcomes (as I see them)>heads (turn 1 wake-up) - 50%>tails/heads (double sleep) - 25%>tails/tails (turn 2 wake-up) - 25%The catch is that mon like wiggly will resleep, so I think you have to coin flip both the tails/tails and tails/heads outcomes. >tails/tails/tails - 12.5%>tails/heads/tails - 12.5% Then you add those because both result in a sleep on the opponent’s turn. Pretty sure it’s 25%.
>make sweaty meta no fun allowed deck>matched with a little kid who clearly just threw together his favourite cards>feel bad for curbstomping him
>>56933150And that's completely irrelevant to the question at hand. There are scenarios where you don't want to keep Wiggly in front if your opponent remains asleep.
>>56933157You could at least try to make it seem like he has a chance anon
>>56933143Feels like I never see any Arcanine deck, is it actually good?
>>56933095I don't thank anyone who finishes the game with this dumb card
>>56933165Charizard but less risk and reward
>>56933104>>56933123Potentially yeah. They can't exactly restrict trades based on community perceived value, listed rarity is the next best thing, which means there will still be skewed trades where one ignorant child gets left with a full art Brock after trading away their rainbow Articuno.Unless, of course, you can't trade away cards you don't have 3 of.What if you need to have 3 cards, and 2 of every flair for that card in order to trade 1 away
>>56933143
in retrospect I really wish I had used my first pack opening on arcanine ex or egg ex. Marowak ex is without a doubt the worst of the bunch (even though in the beginning everyone thought it was arcanine that is bad)
>>56933159>dodging his mistake againlmaoI was never arguing the other point; many different anons in this thread. I was only pointing out an error I thought you made. And there are plenty of scenarios where you’re content to park your happy ass on a wigg / frosmoth for that 25%.
>>56932848I must be retarded then cause I can find where to create your own deck on this site
>>56933186>not believing in the boneheadThere's your problem, chief. Also, Egg is almost straight out a worse Bonehead. He needs two more to retreat, and, at best, does half of the damage that Marowak can do. The only thing Egg has over her is 20 more hp., which doesn't really matter since Marowak is already past the break point of every >Mewtwo striker.
>>56933139Nobody likes my showcases anymore. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
>>56933206even if I believed in the bonehead, fighting decks in general just don't really have any standout cards.
>>56933196It took me a bit to find it too.https://my.limitlesstcg.com/builderYou gotta hover the icon and click on Pokemon Pocket. Then it'll take you to the pptcg builder. Otherwise, it always goes to the regular tcg builder. I just use another site because I hate blindingly bright white websites. This link will send you to the regular tcg builder. This website is retarded. Follow the steps above, or just google a pocket deck builder. I used some shitty site called exburst.
>>56933165Its stats are perfect for fighting pikachu ex decks. 120 damage enough to 1 shot pikachu and has enough hp that it can only be revenge killed by a zapdos ex getting lucky with its coin flips.
>>56933231>I don't believe in bonehead>fighting decks in general just don't really have any standout cardsI think I see your problem, anon. Also, have you tried Primeape? He falls around turn 5, but he hits like a truck until then. Well, it's not that he falls off so much as others catch up to him.
>>56933214I like all my friends everyday and got zero likes back today
Just came up with this rough deck idea (you need an IQ of at least 90 to come up with something like this)I don't have the cards though, can somebody try it out for me?Idea is to stall with hypno bench and articuno coin flips till your dragonite is ready to nuke.
Anyone else feel like you made a mistake choosing the card whenever you fail a wonder pick?I do and feel bad sometimes, even though I know it doesn't make sense, because it's random, so either method you choose should give the same chances. That is, unless it's rigged somehow? Probably not, maybe it's even predetermined just like packs.Anyways, do you have a "method" for choosing the card? Like going always for the first one, going for one that hasn't gotten the right card for a while, or just going for feel?
>>56933294the best thing you can do statistically speaking is to always pick the exact same position, otherwise you're adding another 20% roll
>>56933294I used to pick randomly but lately I've had more success consistently picking the middle card
>>56933294I try and pick packs with 2 cards I want, but generally just tap my phone screen without looking unless the two cards I want are next to each other, then I pick one of two original positions.
>>56933300Your pick doesn't matter.
>>56933282>Can someone hit themselves in the head with a hammer so I don't have to?I'm good, man.
>>56933308Hard to say. Because unlike with the pack carousel, if you close the game during wonder pick, it won't give you one of the 5 cards.
>>56933294see: >>56932902That's my strat.
>>56933294Just pick the same spot every time.
>>56933294always pick bottom row. bottom row has a 50% chance, top row only 33.3%
>>56930757Literally lost a close match to a 10hp left pokemon because Misty rolls are nearly impossible to land. But it was also my fault for forgetting 1 energy by accident too.
>>56933325Largest brain poster

>>56933214I made a binder of my favorites. People seem to like it. One day I went through around half of my ~25 people long friendlist and liked the displays that I liked. The next day my inbox was flooded. If you like them, most people will like you back, in my experience.
>>56933354what does nationality have to do with race
>>56933372I think it's a safe bet that I wasn't dueling a somalian. Go back.
>>56933379sure, but you pointed out he's japanese, not that he's asian. if it was racism you would've probably focused on asian and not Japanese????
They should make it so that Wonder Pick energy pips take 6 hours to regen, rather than 12.
>>56932881It annoys the hell out of me when I fetch a card only for them to pull Red Card on me.
>>56933405but the point of wp is to make you spend money on gold when there's a pick you just don't wanna miss and you're out of stam
>>56933399>racism isn't racism unless you're being vaguewat. Seriously, kid. You gotta be 18 to post here. Go back to your home site.
>>56933417Too much of a gamble for most people to spend money on
>>56933399You can hate the Japanese specifically and be ambivalent towards other asians.
>>56933420but then that's not racism
>>56933312The packet is sent when you click on the cards but realistically they did not actually code an actual shuffle. They just perform the 20% roll on the spot and because it's a unique pool of cards it's hard to know whether it's predetermined or calculated then and there, but one thing's for sure and that's picking a different card makes no difference as it makes no sense to code all the different combinations for something so inconsequential. A lot of these visual elements in the game are done more to make it easier for children (unfortunately a target audience) to communicate probability concepts to them.
>>56933417>gamble to gambleJust let the people have fun. You usually don't get anything anyway.
>>56933419But that's the point of gacha. Get impulsive folks to spend to get the things they want right away
>>56933424Then why don't you tell us what racism is.
>>56933419>Too much of a gamble for most people to spend money onthat's why the game gives you godpack wps when you're at 0
>>56933436>that's why the game gives you godpack wps when you're at 0Is this real? I've never seen a godpack but I've also never been at 0.
>>56933428>They just perform the 20% roll on the spotyea, most likely
>>56933439I got a god pack wp when I ran out of hourglasses. But I still had enough trans tickets to buy the glasses I needed. Don't spend your trans tickets on hourglasses until you get a wp.
>>56933439He's just memeing, but it'd be funny as shit if it was true. That would be the ultimate coomer gacha bait.
>>56933451>>56933439Genuinely NEVER underestimate the shit these games will try to get away with to extract money out of people's pockets. wps are intentionally set up in such a way that they don't have to disclose your chances of getting a good wp selection. The likelihood they're manipulated is extremely high.
>>56933436stop noticing, goym
>>56933475>wonder glasses can't be bought with gold>don't have to disclose chancesHuh. I never even thought of that. I want to say that that's a nutty conspiracy theory, but I can't ignore the little voice deep in my guy telling me not to trust companies. I just hope Pocket is more like a normal tcg with a slower power creep instead of the power-hill-climb that Masters was.
>>56933165Hard counters Pikachu EX but loses to Mewtwo. Very meta dependent deck
>Run Zard/Moltres>Get three flips out of Moltres>Roll 2 total heads>meanwhile opponent is building his deck, ready to obliterate me>concedeJFC I hate flipping.
>>56933504>wonder glasses can't be bought with goldYes they can.
>40+ Charizard packs>0 BlaineLove it
>>56933538Can they? I perused the store before posting to double check and didn't see anywhere to do it. If so, doesn't that mean that they have to disclose the odds of wonder pick?
>>56933546Same, only substitute blaine for erika and primeape.
>>56933550they are disclosing the odds of wonder picks. what they're NOT disclosing is the odds of getting good packs in your wonder pick selection. That's where the key lies
I haven't gotten a single EX card for like 15 Charizard packs. I don't see how this game will hold onto it's fanbase with these rates + how stingy it is with currency/pulls.
>>56933572So they're just saying that it's a flat 20%, but doing shit like not posting god packs? kekIf they've disclosed that it's a flat 20%, then all those anons saying that it's predetermined would be wrong, no? It would genuinely be up to chance/esp for what card you get.
>>56933572>they are disclosing the odds of wonder picks. what they're NOT disclosing is the odds of getting good packs in your wonder pick selection. That's where the key liesbecause then they'd have to admit that the location of the rare or desired card is not random and that the card you get is only picked when you tap on the card back.
>>56933583the card you get is rolled upon picking the a card, there's no real shuffle, but it's still a 20% chance.
>>56933581>I haven't gotten a single EX card for like 15 Charizard packs. I don't see how this game will hold onto it's fanbase with these rates + how stingy it is with currency/pulls.i'm saving my hourglasses for upcoming event but it's been 3+ days since I last got an EX card. Venusaur if anyone was wondering.still don't have any ivysaurs so I can't use it.
>>56933581Did you get any 3-Diamond instead? Only 2 out of 5 cards matter anyway since the other 3 are guaranteed 1-Diamond cards
Top right GODS....
>>56933581>I don't see how this game will hold onto it's fanbaseDude. It's pokemon. There will always be kids playing decks like >>56933023 to give you pick material and free wins. Kids will see the 2/3 free packs a day and that will be enough. You forget that this is also almost certainly their first digital gacha, so they don't know better.
Nice start to my day honestly
>>56933592Ah, I gotcha. That's pretty shitty, but I see how both statements can be true.
Only the FA Pinsir dude from several dozen threads ago liked my showcase today. Thanks guy, I appreciate it.
>>56933604>Nice start to my day honestlyDid you have any in game currency when you pulled that pack?
>>56933613Yep! Still got 100ish hourglass packs
>>56933587think you're misunderstanding me. for the actual wp itself, when you're in there and picking your card, the odds of getting each card is disclosed, it's 20%. and yes, there is no real shuffle, it's just a 20% chance for either, regardless of which card back you tap. but, the menu you select which pack to wonder pick from is also "up to chance", you understand? sometimes you'll have 5 packs there and not a single one with anything good to pick, other times there'll be several exes and so on. they're not disclosing the odds of getting good packs to show up there, and they don't have to, so that's where manipulation happens. now you might say this is a schizo theory, but when gachas can legally manipulate things, they WILL generally do it, and wps are a neat little loophole.
>>56933604Same.

Even though I've been lucky with Wonder Pick, I think it needs a buff because pulling all your good stuff from packs is so unlikely for most people but whales who can keep retrying. They should make it so that you can remove a card from the Wonder Pick for every X amount of resource you care to dump toward it (like Shinedust for instance). That way, you can potentially guarantee a card you really really want by saving up enough of a comfort zone dump, or hedge your bets better if there are multiple good cards and you want to eliminate the dead ones.
>>56933872or more likely, they could add another currency that lets you drop 1 of the lowest rarity in the pack. thereby upping your chance to get rare.
Man, this deck is fun.
wow a full art gloom, fantastic
>>56933872Or they could give a resource that lets you do a do-over at least, that you could keep retrying until you're all out of the resource or you're satisfied. The guaranteed approach probably wouldn't happen because of trading and pack point crafting being your guaranteed ways.
>>56933872>They should do a thing that benefits f2p and therefore make them less moneyLol, lmao even.

>>56933901The UI for this game is horrendous, it's like they only thought about the 1st time experience instead of it being a recurring thing. SM as a gacha.
>>56933912Putting more effort is not how you make money efficiently, when this shit already sucks money in by the millions. The one thing that actually matters is psychology of gambling, and changing the game in a way that benefits the player like that doesn't help.

>>56933930Have you not seen Pokemon Go? Or even those non-Pokemon mihoyo games that make a steady 60-100 M a month. Effort is definitely rewarded and makes both the players and the devs happy.
>>56933956Those Mihoyo games that take way, way more effort to make? Yeah. This shit is a cheap cashgrab, and not at all comparable.
>>56933964>Those Mihoyo games that take way, way more effort to makeThat's literally the very point I'm making. More effort undeniably correlates to higher money, and Pokemon definitely has the resources to see it through, with encouragement from the success of PoGo.

>finally get a misty/articuno deck>lose 7 games in a row because I only roll tails and play against electric decks half of the timeI thought this deck was the meta?
>>56934017See, a quick search tells me that this zero effort shit already generated more than mihoyoslop did in just 17 days.Go figure, putting in 20 times the budget does not translate to 20 times the money. This is also DeNa we're talking about, a literal soulless gachaslop-making machine.
>>56934025meta just means "higher than 50% winrate" currently
>>56934032Its month one. Its a new shiny toy and onions-infused individuals can't resist spending and consooming. This revenue will fall off a fucking cliff in month two and beyond until there's a new set. And even then it won't match month one earnings.Mihoyo games are an investment. They shit so much money into the games and its marketing so they can get consistent high earnings every single month, and not just a one month pay day.
>>56934025And after I posted this I played another match where I rolled tails on misty two times and yes it was another electric deckI'm on a 9 tails streak now and going insane
>>56934025misty is a fickle bitch. you never want a deck to rely on her she should always just be a occasional boast to get your bench pokemon into the game faster but not to big a deal should she fizzle. Golducks and frosmoths are good since they don't take much to get going and can stall long enough to get your articuno online.
the Zebra fuck is underrated desu.feel like there are only a few cards that are truly worthless such as Swanna
>>56934032>See, a quick search tells me that this zero effort shit already generated more than mihoyoslop did in just 17 days.Lol because launch makes a big entrance because of blind expectations. Masters made 26 M in its first week and the norm turned into 1-2 M a month. Meanwhile the top games still make 60+ M a month.>>56934046This so much. It's no joke.
>>56934046Correct. And a fuckload more budget put into it wouldn't actually improve that drastically. To DeNa, it's absolutely not worth the effort to do more than this, and they would know. Why spend resources on making one good game when you can pump a dozen shitty ones
>>56934047Get over it, or get better at the game.
The gacha niggers really need to understand, this is a pokemon tcg game, the only gacha stuff is for collectorfags and casuals, as it is in master duel or duel links you're supposed to roll on the decks you want to play. I'm f2p and I've got 2 meta decks, 3 off meta brews, and with greninja coming out as a promo I have a bunch more planned brews. This game is generous as fuck, 2 dailies, a crafting system, wonder picks, and you can make a ton of decks if you're smart and use your shit wisely
>>56934058Funny because they said in one of their earnings report for Masters that they learned lessons from the sloppy launch of Masters to better prepare them for future ventures.
>>56934046Just like with every modern gacha and tcg, this game will have peaks and valleys with every new set. Two weeks after Mihoyo releases a big patch, the game starts to hemorrhage players only to be revived in a couple of months. And those are new ips. This is a normie friendly pokemon card collector. There will be shitloads of players that stick around. The pokemon name brings both 5 year olds and wheezing 30 year olds looking to grab a bit of nostalgia. It's not rocket science, but starting with genwun brought in a massive boon to their wallets. I love the idea of collecting cards, personally, but I'm not interested in the physical tcg because I don't like the player base. This game has short enough games and digital collection, which makes it worth my time on the investment/enjoyment ratio.
>>56934073Woah, corporate speak.
>>56934061How to get better at coin flip?
>>56934091>he doesn't know
>>56934091find a leprechaun and raid his garden.
>>56933912This is just the initial marketing hype. Once it dies down a little and the whales are hooked (they calculate stuff like retention and average spend) they can actually tweak the game to be usable. There's still lots of basic QoL shit they simply didn't add and it's not like this is their first rodeo. They had the same problem with Masters, their other Pokemon game. It's one big joke to them. The D in DeNA stands for dog shit.
>>56934075>but I'm not interested in the physical tcg because I don't like the player base.ahhh...the smell...
>>56934025The deck isn't meta for exactly the reason you're making this post, misty tails is just a thing. People complain all the time though because high roll misty still happens like 6% of the time and will tilt your opponent into oblivion
>>56934100>There's still lots of basic QoL shit they simply didn't add and it's not like this is their first rodeo. This is very intentional too. The interface is fucking terrible, and this way they have plenty of things to "fix" before doing anything to the parts that affect revenue.
Masters was so shit they had to rebrand to Masters EXWould be so stupid if they do the same with this game
>>56934110I'm sure they have their Japanese gacha playbook they've perfected to hook whales to the milking machine. If I had to guess it's better to attract some tier of "super fan" that's willing to wade through shit and still spend X amount of JPY. So then they can "fix" the game and add back the QoL so they can show>better retention>revenue growth since launch>user base growth (this is the hardest one since most game users in general leave after a while so they only see growth around anniversary or crossover events)
is wiggly ex really that bad?sleep seems good and its the only EX I have 2 of
>>56934134Wait for the sleeping jiggly from the next event and it should be better
>>56934134you're relying on flips to keep the opp asleepfail a flip and you'll get wiped out
>get to 5 stamina>WP only has trash and repeats of what I have already
>>56934110>This is very intentional too. You're schizophrenic. They didn't purposefully hit that sweet spot of "shitty enough that we have reason to pull people back with qol updates" and "just barely good enough that people won't complain." They just did the bare minimum to make it work and focused on pumping out the card designs and interactions. They're a company. They saved money. They're only ever going to implement qol updates if it's convenient or if nintendo starts complaining about how shit the game looks.
>>56934134Can a pokemon be asleep and poisoned at the same time? If so, Weezing/Wiggly would be insane.
>>56934134dce when
>>56934151>They didn't purposefully hit that sweet spot of "shitty enough that we have reason to pull people back with qol updates" and "just barely good enough that people won't complain."No, they definitely hit that by pure accident. You're naive.
>>56934154poison and burn are the only two statuses that can stack with sleep/paralysis/confusionActually, no card currently causes confusion does it?
>>56934149you will pull dupes for a third of a card's flair (you need one for each copy in the deck) and you will like it
>>56934161>burnI don't think I've seen any cards with burn either.
>>56934151>They're a company. They saved money. They're only ever going to implement qol updates if it's convenient or if nintendo starts complaining about how shit the game looks. You don't know what you're talking about. They did this with another pokemon game of theirs already. People complained and started leaving after the content dried and they responded with free gems and better events for a while. Nintendo takes gacha feedback somewhat seriously because it could harm pokemon's brand image, most of all from a gambling simulator no less.
>>56934161Does burn do anything differently than poison?
>>56934180>You don't know what you're talking about.Sure I do. I played Masters for over 2 years. It's still on my phone, actually. Everything you just said fits my rrat.>dena does the bare minimum to get the game out with no glaring bugs>not great, but passable to whales>months in, small problems really irk the playerbase>nintendo cracks the whip>dena addresses qolAt least this game isn't as much of a gambling simulator as Masters was. Shit drops are still useful, ie Ralts. In Masters, you would do a 10 pull and get 9 three star Surges and one shitty four star.
>>56934134it's not bad, hit's hard and if whatever it hits lives there's a good chance it can't hit back next turn. Real problem is it takes a lot of energy to get going and outside of misty and to a lesser extent Brock and surge there isn't really a way to cheat up energy quicker in the game right now so you kind of need to pair it with strong low energy mons like beedrill, executor, or kangaskhan so you can build it up on the bench so it can finish off what's left when you finally get it going. As such it struggles against fast decks like Pikachu EX and starmie EX since they can get going by there second turn and just knock down your walls before you can get set up.
>>56933141Starmie ex, Ninetales, Egg, Arbok.
>>56934134It’s alright. New promo jiggly might improve things a bit, but three energy for 80 damage isn’t the best. You do have a 50% of the opponent entering their turn with the sleep condition, as well as a 25% that they are asleep for two of their turns (assuming they cannot evolve and are not knocked out). I think it’s going to need a solid partner / some sort of colorless support to become really good.
>>56934134It's good for dark and metal decks because they don't have any ex pokemon of their own. It's also good for multicolored decks for obvious reasons. It's also good in grass decks, because grass doesn't really have a good high damage ex pokemon like arcanine, starmie, marowak etc., and this is the next best thing.
>>56934169>>56934185I don't know shit about burn and how it differs, just that it exists.Although I think in the tcg proper it hasn't shown up in years or so?I only know base-fossil format.
>>56934199NTA but that's incredibly glossing over how bad it was, they completely revamped much of the system. The game launched with a focus on co-op and completely backtracked on that. The game launched with certain kinds of resources and completely abandoned them. The game changed so drastically that they rebranded their very name.
>>56934185As of Sun & Moon, Pokémon that are Burned have damage counters placed on them between turns - two by default, though certain effects may increase the amount placed. After the counters are placed, a coin is flipped; if the result is heads, the Pokémon is cured, while it remains Burned on tails.Prior to Sun & Moon, once a Pokémon is Burned, a Burn marker is placed on it and the player must flip a coin in between turns. If the coin lands on tails, two damage counters are placed on the Pokémon. Under some conditions, the burn's damage may be increased by the effect of an attack, an Ability, or a Stadium card (e.g., Volcarona's Scorching Scales Ability causes the afflicted Pokémon to suffer 40 damage). If the coin landed on heads, the Pokémon does not receive any damage but remains Burned.
theres nothing to do now aaaaaaaaaaa
>>56934199>hasn't updated since train broslol I think that's when I dropped it as well. It's still on maintenance mode so I'm hoping they focus on really polishing the TCG one at least for its first year.Although if we really get into the nitty gritty I think Masters had waaaaay better rates than this game's. I think it was 3% for a banner (1.5% for the "premium" ones), and they basically work out of the box (I pulled Red/Articuno before uninstalling and it's still S tier apparently). That's the equivalent of pulling an entire Mewtwo deck. And you really need 2 Mewtwos so it's multiplying sub 1% rates. I don't see myself playing much longer to be honest. This game is a waste of time in its current state. Might wait to see how they handle future packs because I expect a lot of redundancy which might be very bad.
Pokemon should have partnered with an American company again for this game. Yeah there would be unnecessary cosmetic crap here and there but you'd actually get a substantive game that'd make more money for them.
>>56934263>Pokemon should have partnered with an American company again for this game.Because Niantic has done soooooo well with Pogo.

>>56934326>you mean are 1st world problems compared to how empty this game isROTFLMAO FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS!?!?!fuck right off with that absolute bullshit.
>>56934317Rates are about normal for a gacha, but wonder picks mean you instantly get a 20% rate up banner, as long as you're not spam chasing alt arts you should get most of the meta cards you want eventually
>>56933214>>56933277I get all my likes from battles and have too many friends to go liking all of their stuff. I'll only like their showcases if it has low amount of likes.
>>56934317>It's so contextual to everything in how the game works. The only context here is that TCG has PVP so the rates are more valuable. I get that, but I also don't care much for PVP so the comparison is apples to apples to me (and I suspect a large part of the user base).>I thought they still update it regularly? They probably do. I just check the reddit every once in a while and I approximate their update frequency through power creep. It's been stagnant for over a year now so that's not a good indicator (for DeNA that is).

I get that, but I also don't care much for PVP so the comparison is apples to apples to me (and I suspect a large part of the user base).I mean in general, but just looking at Masters real quick, you need 5 copies of a character to max them out.I never played the game so I don't know how much that truly matters, but let's say that for the top-end content you do need them at that level. So now you need 5 copies of a character vs. 2 copies of a card.My point here isn't to try to make an objective comparison between the two, just to explain what I mean by "context".Another example is something like FEH, which relies on shitting out new characters constantly, and you need them because of powercreep and inheriting their skills, I believe. (At least it was like this at some point, never played that either)
>>56934400The reason I can no longer play Kanga. IDC how good she is, 30 average damage is barely serviceable and anything less than that is usually game over.
>>56934397Flair in a game based on trading is absolutely dumb I agree, should have instead been able to bulk convert common cards into pack points or something since it's not like most people will reach a high rarity conversion off daily pulls
>>56933368I like the display of new friends but you don't have to go one by one, they show up in Community Showcase, much faster.

>>56934429Yes and no. If you only have 1 copy of the card you will see it as it is, but ingame it becomes English for you.If you have multiple versions of it it'll show you the version in your language in the collection.
>>56934403Now that you mention it I completely forget about Masters' dupe system kekI remember 3/5 basically gets you the "complete" package but to me it just felt better to have the full character to interact with vs just another card. Like I said to me the value proposition vs time sink and content is just non existent at the moment. If new packs have overlapping units then it becomes like a much shittier Masters because now you're basically just pulling for banner card or stardust.FEH afaik has the waifu thing down.
