The Pokemon have great synergy with each other so you can run Grass and Electric and almost never get screwed. I got screwed once when I needed 1 grass energy but it wasn't the worst thing but it limited my choices. It did not do well against a full bench Pikachu but it beat a Dragonite, a couple Misty, and a Machoke/Sandslash. Don't risk Giovanni on Surprise Attack, not, worth, it.

You can also start with your lead Mewtwo and finish with your hypothetical second one with just Psychic Sphere but double potion does throw a wrench in that. Basically just tune your strategy to how hard you’ve bricked, what cards you have, what cards you’re expecting if you want to win in that moment.

Is there any speculation on how trading is going to work? Do player just flash cards to each other, yell at their screen and hope it works? And why would TPC and DeNA want to allow trading, isnt that going to cut into profits and encourage players to just do f2p? I know the game has Trading in the title but we are dealing with greedy corpos.

In a year from now are people still just going to play Pikachu decks except now it's a Dynamax Celebi that has 70 more hp, gives 3 prize cards and deals 40 damage for each benched Grass pokemon instead?

However ideas like Special Energy, discard pile recovery, and Lost Zone I don't know would work with this game.I could see things like Subtypes (Ultra Beast, Rapid Strike, Single Strike, etc.) and GX/VStar abilities working, but I think the reality is that the devs are going to make use of the benefits of a digital client to iterate and make something new

It could very well be that they have the opposite view point here since the game is all about collecting.
