Follow your heart. Personally, there are still decks that I want to be able to play that I don't have cards for so I'm pulling. If that cucks me out of new boosters, then I'll either reroll or I'll stop playing. Playing a gacha card game where you can't grind down your shit cards into dust that is used to buy the cards you actually want is already cancer. I don't want to spend my entire lifetime in this game by just rolling the "Mewtwo" or the "Pikachu" of each set and playing only that for 3 months. There's so few (relative) cards that there's only a few discount decks out there. Exeggutor EX/Butterfree has several discount decks, but that's because it's a mid range deck already. Charizard/Moltres has several discount decks too.

Of course those discount decks rely on you actually getting at least one high end rare card or even several common ones

What the missions really need to do is have promos as rewards. Do stuff related to the event and you're guaranteed one of each of the promos. The pulls then are just a bonus for decks, flair or (in the future) trades.
I'd do 50 PVP matches if it meant getting an arcanine EX or a couple blains (which I really need)

Why the fuck is that not just standard for all stage 2s without another ability? You have to invest so much tempo into these things that they end up being irrelevant if you don't have a perfect turn 3 curve. If you put them up front they can just die to goofball shit like Misty or Pikachu, and if you try to build them from the back row behind a meat shield the opponent still gets the same benefit as you but they get to maintain damage as they do it.

It's anecdotal, but I played my charizard/moltres deck against the beginner solo battles and out of three uses of moltres' Inferno Dance, I flipped all heads twice.

I've never had a full head flip of Inferno Dance at any other time.

it's only, what, 7 days long and it takes 36 hours for your wonder currency to naturally respawn to the 3 points needed to pull the rare event. so that means at best you can naturally use your wonder currency twice on the rare spawn.

this event was absolutely made to clue people into how many wonder currency they have and to spend said currency because people were hoarding it. then when there's another wonder currency event in the near future, people are forced to buy it with real money to restock.

You get to use more supporters early, and you can evolve first. Getting to smack the opponent on turn 3 with a Blaine'd Rapidash or attack with Weezing on your first real turn can be a big deal.

Really it depends on what deck you want to finish the most, if you really want zard deck then pull individually on zard until you get either 1 of moltres or chairzard, save the second ex for wonder, and start pulling on mewtwo.

Not being able to HOLD energy really sucks.

I think so, while the randomness of what colors you get sounds bad, from my experience it cripples more the "tanking" mons you use while you set up Zam. I had several rounds where my Weezing/Egg didn't get the right energy for few rounds.

At first I was kinda "eh" on the crab, but now that I think about it, it's only 10 damage less than Nidoking and it's a stage 1, not stage 2. It has Misty support, and while it doesn't have poison it can double its damage 10% of the time (that's my approximate chance to flip 2 heads, may actually be lower).

Wonder picks update during a several minute window every half hour. The free picks show up during that point but they're not guaranteed.
The free picks expire at the next update window (thirty minutes after they arrive) so it doesn't matter when you're checking as long as you check every thirty minutes.
There are 10 possible free packs and 2 of them offer Blaine (1 copy each) so there's a 1-in-25 chance that a free pick will give you Blaine.
